The calender sounds pretty neat ...... though if there's a lot of people contributing to the project, it'll be a lot harder to split profits, if you plan on making any profits. I know some of the people in this guild are well acquainted, so to speak, over DA and gaia, so I'm sure you guys can easily set up a pre-order list and gather funds to make the printing with. With that, you'd also be able to see how many people are actually interested, and can extrapolate how much more to order from that estimate. If anything, you guys really don't need to worry (too much) about the money yet. We should focus on actually getting the artwork done and stuffs.
As for artwork: I might be in; it'll be great to get some more details down first before I commit myself, seeing how I'm always so strapped for time during the semester. I don't really get art done while school's in session. ^^;

Rice is right though, we need to get organized quickly if we want it ready for the new year...
Would there be a theme to the project?

Mmm, calendar is always nice. A nice theme to go with it would be a nice guide as well. I'm up for whatever I can contribute.

Yes, organization is the key to winning this. D: LOL!
I guess first we should get a list of artists that are committed to working on it and those who are unsure but are interested. smile That way we know if we need to group people together or hand off months and date assignments to others.
A theme would be pretty good as the overall idea but keeping in mind the months themselves. We can probably start pooling ideas but more than likely get the list of those committed to work on the project down first. :3
Rice you are right calenders have 13 months. D: I think extra month for January just in case you don't grab a calender for the next year immediately.

 rice saysalso tir started to do some info if we were to get this printed.... i'm a big noob in this area, but me and tir think it'll be hard to get people that never met each other before to put in on a expensive project....
i would put in a suggestion like maybe all the contributors that want to make prints get the files so they can distribute with their own cost?

Money on the other hand isn't such a problem if we make it available through a website that works in a way similar to lulu, I think DA even offers calenders (correct me if I'm wrong) but considering how these are ripoffs (99% to the publisher 1% to the artist) we sure wouldn't be doing it for the moneyz xd

also i work in illustrator so i can blow up huuuuuge files like billboard size hahah...... hurray for the power of illustrator!!!

My .02:
-I think we can probably do an online version to cut back on costs if people really want a way to present these. If anything, Kirby and I can always help out in making a flash viewer or something that people can use online. What we can also do is have everyone contribute and then everyone can have a copy of the high quality calendar for their own printing purposes if people really want a printed version. Having all these extra costs just creates a lot of confusion and I'm not sure if I would want to front the money because it just gets messy once that's involved.
-As for theme I think I can go either way. I don't really see a big importance in having a theme; us being [resonance] guild members feels cohesive enough. It also makes it a little easier to just have no theme so people can choose what they really want to draw; this is the first time we're pulling together to make a calendar and I think the best way to approach it would be to make it as easy as possible.
-As for the deadline we can either make a calendar for next year or the year after that. I don't think we should really stress over the specific year since the graphics and stuff are easily applicable to any other year.
-I think to get this moving maybe it's just best to have a list of all the months and have people do a first come first serve basis. I don't think Kirby and I have a lot of time to contribute graphics-wise but I can help in putting it together and maybe some of the holidays or something. I don't want to commit to a big illustration just in case someone pulls out.
-We also need to have a thread in where people must show their progress. We can use this or make a new one it doesn't really matter but I think it's important that people show their progress so motivate and keep track.
