The leopard still looked tensed, ready to bolt if things got bad. It was obvious she wasn't experienced in social business. She pulled the zebra out enough to where they could both have a meal without getting too close to each other. Sharing meals was against most leopard standard. She didn't know why she offered.
Stupid pregnancy making her irrational. "Don't get mushy with me." She half snorted and started to bite into the stomach to open it up for them. "I just can't eat it all. That's all. I can't climb much anymore."
Now that the hyena was closer she could probably tell that she was starting to get heavy with cubs. It was a wonder she'd risked fighting but it was adding more aggression to her.

The hyena blinked at the budge in the leopards gut. She hadn't noticed it earlier. So the feline was gonna have a few cubs? She needed all the meat she could get then.
"Bury it." The hyena looked up at the feline, "I'll help you. Then sleep on top of the spot , you'll have food in the morning." Ylva took a small bite of the gazelle. She wouldn't eat much knowing that the leopardess needed it more. Still, she had to eat and she had to feed Asa. No sense in turning down a free meal.
"That way you don't have to worry about vultures, lions or hyenas." Ylva took another bite of the zebra being careful to only take as many bites as she needed.

The leopardess glanced up at her in confusion. She'd help her? After all that fighting? She seemed very confused, almost torn. For a leopard putting food in trees was how they hid their prey but underground? That was almost blasphemy. But this dog was willing to help and she couldn't climb much anymore. Was it worth it?
"...Thank you... I'd... really aprciate that..." She answered slowly as she too ate from the corpse. "Take as much... as you need first."

"It's not much or as fancy as carrying the body up into the tree but its the least I can do."
Ylva nodded and was sure to take in what she needed. It wasn't all that much but she could get by and scavenge or kill again. For now she was fine for a day or two off of what she had. That was more then enough.
"Do you mind if I still take the leg?" She eyed it. It wasn't for her as much as it was for Asa.

The leopardess gave what was almost a smile. "Its enough, thank you..."
She silently ate to herself then glanced at the leg. "Go ahead. I already gave it to you." She answered with a flip of her tail. "And you are helping me dig..." It was something she wasn't really built to do.
She found a good spot, sniffing it out and starting to paw at the earth. Between the two large animals there wasn't much left. She might have been able to carry it but she was tired and after digging she'd find a soft place to rest.

The hyena nodded , she was already pretty good in the way of food. The hyena turned her back on the leopard and watched the horizon for any creeping scavengers.
It may have been luck the both of them stumbled upon each other. Being heavy with cubs made it harder to defend ones self, Ylva imagined. The hyena wasn't planning to try the cub thing any time. No matter how much she liked Asa she was NOT having pups. . . Yeah she was in denial.
It was quiet and quaint on that savanna, not even a buzzard was out and about stalking the skies for a scrap.
After the leopard had finished her meal, the hyena kept her end of the deal and buried the remains some where the leopard would be able to get to easy and no one else would find. After that she took her leg and headed back home to Asa.
Today hadn't been a waist after all.
