"Well, the demons could attack the pride at any time. Actually... They raided the pride not that long ago. We lost a cub and one of our pride's bondeds nearly died," Kaimel explained softly, his voice solemn. He wasn't about to mention that in that same raid he'd discovered a demon of his own. "And you'll find there's plenty of food back in the pride. Everyone pitches in when it comes to hunting, so there's always plenty to go around."

"I see... it sounds like you need strong guards to protect you. Someone to protect everyone..." He frowns slightly as he stares forward. "That's a good thing... That's how it should be. I think so anyway..."

"We do. But none of our current members have taken up the path of a Guard, so the adults just take turn patrolling the borders," Kaimel said lightly, chuckling and shaking his head. "That's one of the reasons everyone pitches in with hunting too. None of the members have taken the path of a hunter either."

"That isn't good... You should have a constant guard." He wrinkles his brow in thought. "Why has no one chosen those positions? Are they too afraid?"

"Not at all! It's more like, they've chosen other paths. Those of the Demon Hunters, the Purifiers, the Warriors, the Nannies, the Healers... Many of our pride is full of very brave creatures who've taken up positions far more dangerous than that of a guard," Kaimel replied, laughing softly and shaking his head. He remembered when he'd been a cub. He'd chosen his path back then, along with his sister.

"I see... That makes sense... I just don't really like to fight if I can avoid it. But I do like protecting...I think its the most important thing to do." Maybe they needed him here. His father's troupe, they had strength. "Is it much farther?"

"I'm the same. It's why I decided to become a healer... But I'm more than willing to fight to protect the cubs if I have to," Kaimel said lightly, trotting a bit faster and nodding back at Chinedu. "It's not far at all now. You might be able to see it in the distance."

"Of course...cubs are the most important of all..." He voices then picks up his speed to move along side him. He lifts his head, squinting toward the distance in hopes of seeing this amazing pride.

"Without them, there isn't a future for our kind," Kaimel said, his grin widening when he spotted the main area of the pride. It really wasn't all that impressive. A river bordering one side and a semi-circle of dens carefully dug out of gentle rises in the plains. A few of the pride members were lounging atop some of the dens, simply sunning themselves. Kaimel absently noticed the figure of the leopon, Mabaka, among the figures.

"I'd like cubs someday but...ah well..." He gives a slight shrug of his shoulders. He glanced up and his ears went up. He'd never seen such a large group of lions. He treaded carefully his wide pink eyes taking in everything with a sense of amazement. It wasn't much to Kaimel but to Chinedu it was amazing.

"My sister and I have a pact so we can both have cubs when we take mates..." Kaimel said softly, nodding politely to the few lions and leopons who were on the outskirt of the main area as he led Chinedu in. "Well, this is it."

"A pact? Why? Is there something wrong?" He questioned then looked around. There was a moment were he just stepped forward, mouth open in surprise. He looked between the lions and the hybrids and put his head down slightly. He nodded to each of them as he stepped deeper into the pride. It was so amazing. A large family like this and other lions all living together.

"Not at all. It's just that we're both gay. So we wouldn't normally be able to have cubs with the mates we take," Kaimel replied, laughing softly and looking towards Chinedu. "So what do you think?"

"You're gay?" The information is perhaps more shocking then seeing the pride. He opens and closes his mouth a few times. "I... never met a gay lion before... well I mean...outside of myself..." He gets back onto topic and shakes his mane out. "Its...amazing! You must love it here."

"Yeah. It seems to run in the family," Kaimel said, laughing softly and shaking his head. He couldn't help but smile at Chinedu's words. "I do. And I'm sure you will too. We have creatures of all shapes and sizes here, and we all get along well."
