My reading spans most genres, horror not included. Some favorite series are the StarDoc books by S.L. Viehl, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, and the Books of the Abarat by Clive Barker.

I too am a bibliophile. I have my own library, sadly smaller than it used to be due to moving and damage.
I read whatever catches my curiosity at the moment and own books spanning almost every genre. I am currently reading "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand, just finished "Angels & Demons" by Dan Brown and all but the most recent Sookie Stackhouse novel and "House of Night" book which is due out very soon, mid-month I think. I am planning on reading Dante's Divine Comedy next. I also find biographies fascinating.
I even chose to work in a bookstore in order to have access to as many options as possible.

Angels and Demons in my favorite Brown. People tend to like The Da Vinci Code better, and I thought it was good but I guess I just thought the story was more climatic. From being first exposed to Langdon and all I suppose.
I just finished Voltaire's Candid, and I've moved on to Primo Levi Other People's Trades.
Both excellent.

I'm a bibliophile. I'm currently rereading A Wrinklr in Time (it's excellent. I'm just remembering how much I love that book series <3), adn reading the Dragons in our Midst series, and another book called Little Brother (it's like a modern day 1984, except it applies more to our world [in my opinion]).
Question: anyone else think they wrecked Eragon with the movie? And what do you think of starting a favorite book list (maybe as another topic...?)

Well, it seems like a lot of movies based on books are off the mark when it comes to accuracy. As for the book list, I think that's pretty much what this thread is.

I heart books. A lot. Most of my available income goes towards them, mainly because my local library actually kind of stinks and has fewer books than I do. xd
Unfortunately right now, I'm not able to read for pleasure - I'm reading two med-surg nursing textbooks, and one on trends and issues in nursing. When I do get a second to myself, I'm generally in a book of Buddhist scripture to reinforce my path knowledge a bit.
Hopefully sometime I'll find time to read again - I'm halfway through a Steven Pinker book called How the Mind Works that I'd really like to sit down and devour. 3nodding

I love historical novels and fantasy [mainly Tolkien of course! and Pratchett]. There are many books and authors I like but now I don't read belletristic books much any more because I have to read books for uni sad But in the last lesson of world literature the teacher mentioned a few authors of Scandinavian decadence that I'd like to read when I find some time, but they are rather unknown so I don't know if I manage to find the books in the library.[I don't remember the names but they're written in my notices at home.]

I love to read and have a ton of books to prove it. My favorite author is Jacqueline Carey, but truthfully as long as it has a decent plot, characters, etc... I can read just about anything. I also like Alice Hoffman, Roger Zelazny, Terry Brooks, Wilbur Smith, Tolkien, C.L Wilson, and Clive Cussler (yeah... I like a wide variety of things blaugh )
Kage... I'm the same way. If I'm reading I get completely lost in it sometimes. Hubby will be talking to me for 20 minutes before I notice. I'm also well known for not getting any sleep because I was too into what I was reading to put it down. sweatdrop

I love books. Sadly I don't read as much as I would like to. I'm not much of a fantasy reader, but I do like Harry Potter and Terry Pratchett :>
But mostly I love my scientific books. I'm a social scientist by education so I'm mostly in the anthropological/sociological/psychological field and I personally also love to read about the biological/neurological aspect of human behaviour.
I am fascinated by morality, ethics, religion, violence, human security etc :>
Other than that I like books that are challenging, that pose entire different ideas/concepts, distopias (think Brave New World), etc.
Plus proper literature/Dutch literature and historical novels.
A Wrinkle in Time was a lovely book by the way!
As far as Dan Brown is concerned, I liked reading the books. But they were rather poorly written, even in terms of style. Nevertheless the stories were nice. Always love a good religious/historical conspiracy! biggrin
