Mikoto jumped, startled as he heard the a voice calling him out. He wanted to turn around, but he figured it was just the bartender. So instead, the moment the light turned to "walk", he'd dash across the street as fast as he could.
The light changed.
He didn't move. Rather, something seemed to keep him rooted to that spot. Whether it was his body being weird again or something else...he knew not. So, with a sigh as the light changed again, he looked at the ground. "In the next moment, I'll know whether or not I should hate myself for what I'm about to do..." He turned around and faced "Laeglas."

Liam was so relieved when the other man turned around. He jogged up to him and stopped a few steps away. He did not want to make the stranger uncomfortable, after all. Maybe he was not as knowledgeable about his past life as Liam was. Maybe he did not know anything at all, or maybe he just had dreams and had never confused current life with the past.
"You..." Liam breathed when he caught up to the other man. "Are you... Aiden?" he asked hesitantly. That face, that name, and he had known Liam's past name as well. It was too much of a coincidence. Was this his prince? "I am... I was," he corrected, "Laeglas."

"Aiden? Me? That is...I feel the answer is 'yes.' But...I know not why I think that." Mikoto looked up at he other. "You are Laeglas for sure. I realize that. But...why are you...a fictional character of my writings and dreams...here in reality?" He was so confused. What was real? What was fiction? Was he going mad? Or was he missing something not so obvious?

Fictional? Did this man think that he had made it all up himself? Well, maybe he would have if his memories were only in his dreams and had only started up recently. But he did recognize that Liam was Laeglas. That meant this man really was his Aiden, his prince.
"It's not fiction," Liam said earnestly. He did not have nearly enough time to explain to someone who only barely knew. "This... Always makes me sound like a crazy person," he muttered, "But if you really are him, then you're likely the only one who could properly understand.
"My name is Liam, but my name was Laeglas in a past life," Liam explained. "Ever since I was a kid I've had dreams and memories from that life. In that life I... Laeglas, that is... He had a lover named Aiden. They couldn't actually be together then, so they prayed that they could do so in another life."

Mikoto stared at Liam for a good minute. "I believe you." I do? "Y-yeah...for some reason, I feel that this is true. And yet...there is much I don't understand. But...is it possible...no...I don't have much time myself. Is it possible...we could...talk at another time...maybe?" He looked down shyly.

Liam could hardly believe it. Not only did the man not think he was crazy, but he actually believed what the bartender was telling him. There was very little doubt in Liam's mind, now that this was the man he had been waiting for.
He realized that he did not have much time, either. Liam had left with hardly a word to take his break early, something his boss would not be happy about. He rummaged through his pockets and thankfully managed to find the stub of a pencil in his apron pocket and an old receipt in his pants. "Here," Liam said as he began to write on the back of the receipt. "This is my phone number. I don't work during the day so you could give me a call... If you want. Or you could... stop by the club again sometime. I work most nights."

"Um...I'd rather not...too many people. Crowded places...aren't my forte. Um...I'll call you...when I'm free." Mikoto took the reciept and jumped when a loudly honking trunk drove by. Yes, I dislike cities the most.
"O-oh. One more thing. M-my name is Mikoto...now? Yes. That sounds right. Um..." He then happened to catch sight of what time it was. "Oh...this is not... I really must go! I'm supposed to be working... Um...I'll call, for sure. Um...bye!" Mikoto then ran off to the subbway to hurry home, carefully folding the receipt and putting it in his pocket. Hm. Usually I'm good at talking. That person...talking to him makes me unstable. What could this possibly mean? Is this fiction really not so? I shall see in the near future...

A smile lingered around Liam's lips as he watched the other man disappear down the crowded streets. He could hardly believe that he had finally found him after so long. A lifetime of searching for the person who haunted his dreams and distant memories. Now he had finally found him.
Then Liam suddenly remembered again that he was still supposed to be at work. He had run off without hardly a word. His boss would not like that. So the bartender turned around and hurried back into the club to get back to work.

Mikoto sighed, pushing away from his desk as he finished the script he was asked to write. Looking up, he realized it was already the next morning. Yeesh. I was so caught up in my work I wasn't even tired. But...I am not one to do this. Is it because...of that man. Laeglas, no, he said his name is Liam now. He sighed and decided not to dweel on it further. Rather, he went to bed for a few hours of sleep he could grab before he had to go contact the troupe he was working for at the current time.
Mikoto sighed as he got off the phone with the troupe master. Due to traffic issues, he'd have to wait till the next day to drop it off. So it meant his whole day was free. Absently, his thoughts went to his dreams. He'd had another one. It was...of the prince's life. The simple trivialities of being royal. His servant being the only person he could truly open up to. It made him think back to what he had written. His dreams were of the prince, but the writings were of the king. Then he recalled Liam giving him his number. Well, I do have some free time... Besides, I'd like to have some questions answered... At that, he dialed the number.

Liam staggered home in the small hours of the morning. Just before dawn he collapsed into bed and fell asleep, thankful as always that he had invested in blackout curtains. The bartender slept well into the morning, as he usually did if he did not have anything to do during the day. When he finally woke it was almost noon, and his phone was ringing.
The man rolled over and groped on the nightstand for his cell phone, which was beginning to vibrate itself off the table. Finally his hand managed to grasp it and he brought it up to look at the number. Nothing he recognized, and he thought about ignoring it, until he remembered the man he had met the night before. Then he was quick to answer the phone and press it to his ear. "Hello?"

"Um, good afternoon. This is Mikoto." I don't believe this, he actually picked up. Wait, his voice... "Did I disturb your sleep? I apologize." If there was one thing he knew most people loved, it was their sleep. To be disturbed was a great rudeness in his book.

It was him! "Hi Mikoto!" Liam enthused, sitting upright. "No, it's alright," he assured, and held the phone away from his mouth for a moment so he could clear his throat. "I should be up anyway, if it's past noon." He did not mind being awoken, especially not by this phone call. "How are you?"

"Hm? I am doing well." Mikoto paused. He never really thought about what he'd say if this person actually picked up. "U-um...I've finished my work for the time being...and find my self with the whole day free..." He hesitated. "Maybe...we can get together for something?" Usually, people asked him out the house, so he wasn't used to being the asker. Strangely enough, to him, it felt okay with this person.

It had been ages since someone had asked Liam out on a date. In his line of work the pick-ups tended to look for a shorter meeting. This was a pleasant change. "I would love to," the bartender replied. "Uhm... Have you had lunch yet? Maybe we could get something to eat." He had just woken, after all, he was pretty hungry.

"Ah. No, not at all. Lunch would be nice." Another thing, since he stayed home, he mostly cooked for himself. Eating out was a rarity, but never unwanted. "So, um, where should we meet up?" He felt a slight stirring in him, something within wanted this to succeed.
