"Really?"
Tap tilted his neck as he listened in on the other youth. So many stories that they haven't all been heard? Wow, he didn't know there could be so many. And here he was, not even aware of a single tale.
Oh? And eyes blinked to today's story. An elephant? How interesting! He had always seen them from afar and even heard them in the depths of the night. And it sounded almost as if Siti knew this Almaziti, with how she described her so clearly. "Ye...yeah, I'd like to hear that one."
But the boy did bristle in light fear as the adult reached for him, and he stubbornly skid across the ground as he was pulled closer. Once within her arms though, he did admit the feel of warm fur and even the sound of soft breathing was almost soothing to his nerves.
"Erm, sorry.." He peeked at Lila shyly, as if he had taken her sitting spot.

Lila nodded at Tap and smiled at his appology, "Its okay. I'm use to sharing. I gotta share my den, with Mama, my brothers, my sisters, and papa Ja'ka."
Siti smiled at her daughters friendly attitude to the little cub, she could see him relaxing however slightly and it made her very happy to see. She cleared her throat slightly to get the attention of the two cubs then started her story.
"There once was a young lioness, who was only a bit older that you Lila. When she was younger she lost her family in a storm and after she was raised by prey animals. First, when she was about your age Tap, she was raised by antelope and water buffalo. When she reached Lila's age she moved to a herd of zebra and just before she was an adolscesnt she live with wildebeast. They taught all a predator should know and so she had to move to a herd of larger animal when they knew she was big enough for them to be on the menu.
She left her las family knowing soon they were to join her meal plan with such a heavy heart. In the first week away from her family of wildebeast she was very hungry. She really did not wish to hunt bigger game and had no encouragement of a herd to let her know it was okay. She knew everything had it time, it was what she was taught, but it was so much harder to believe being alone.
She became weaker as time passed and became thinner and thinner. It was a sad sight to see. Just when she wanted to give up she met a elephant and do you know who that elephant was?"
Siti smiled at them, especially when Lila nodded, "Was it Almaziti," she asked.
Siti nodded, "Yes it was Almaziti, an elephant who was older than her, though, size wise and mentally they were much the same. Almaziti found the young lioness sleeping alone under a tree and being the brave young elephant she was she approached the lioness and watched her for a little while.
Almaziti was confused about the lioness and so she went back to her mother, her herd and told her of the young lioness. The young lioness awoke later to the whole herd starring down upon her. She backed up in fear, but they only seemed curious as to her condition. They asked her if she was sick, for if she was it might mean hardship for the savannah, but she said she wasn't and told them her story.
Almaziti stated she would live with them and she would not have to leave, fore the lioness could never hunt an elephant. Being the daughter of the herd's leader Alma was allowed her way and the young lioness came to live with the elephants. In no time at all the young lioness regained her health and along with it she gained a best friend, who was confident, fun, bold and daring.
The pair got into much trouble and we're often found being scolded by mother Mazili. Though it did not stop them from the mischief. Alma was always coming up with a new adventure and finding new explorations.
One day Alma decided they should be river explorers, it was right after the big rains and the river was wide, wild and raging. The pair went to the river, watching for crocodile and teasing hippos. However, the young lioness went to close to the river and fell right in. She was quickly swept away and Alma panicked, feeling like she lost her best friend.
She ran down the river trying to get ahead of the young lioness. She made the ground thunder as she picked up speed and finally she came to be far enough ahead to wade into the water, though really she rushed right in and stretched out her trunk. Just as her friend was about to slip by Alma managed to grab her by the tail and pull them both out of the river.
After that experience the young lioness and Alma were much tamer, though they were still mischevious and got into quiet a bit a trouble. They learned that their are some things one shouldn't do and they grew from the experience.
To this very day Alma remains the best and truest friend I ever had."
Lila gasped at her mother confession that she was the lioness in the story making her mother chuckle lightly.

Eyes grew wide to the tale that the adult lioness began to share. It truly was amazing for the tiny cub, to hear of all the different types of animals that lived in the lands. And that they'd actually let a meat eater live with them so easily. The boy blinked to himself in confusion. Why could they get along like that when he couldn't even get along with other predators? Tucking his ears to the odd system of life, the boy focused once more on the story.
"A river..." Ah yes, he knew what those were. And they did get so large and deep sometimes....what was the lioness thinking to play in those? Then he gasped and clamped his tiny paws over his mouth when the adult said that she had fallen in too! Ugh, the cold and wet and....wet! But then the friend, that ele....elephant, saved her.
But the most surprising part was...... "Wait, that was you in the story?" Tap blinked pale eyes up at the adult in a new awe. Could someone really do all that stuff, make it true? Could he ever make adventures like those? But these thoughts were cut short as the boy opened his mouth in a wide yawn, having forgotten to take his daily nap. And now it was catching up with him as he leaned carefully against the fur like a pillow. Ng, too cozy....
"Hn, I'd like to meet Alma...someday...."
With his eyelids feeling heavy, Tap curled into a small ball against Siti's arm. Just a little nap....just for a moment.....

Siti couldn't help but think, how cute Tap was, she felt slightly worried for the cub. He seemed so frightful of others. It was sad for her to see since she and her cubs had always been so social.
When he asked if it was her story, she nodded, "I had a very adventurous life when I was young. Currently I am taking my cubs on their first adventure."
Her heart warms and her when he yawned and began to fall asleep. "Maybe you will," she whispered to the sleeping cub, "Next I see her I will tell her to keep a look out for you."
Siti looked over to Lila who gave a loud yawn and moved over to tap curling up with him. She knew it might be dangerous to stay, but she simply did not have the heart to leave him alone, in what was so clearly not his den. She nuzzled Lila gently, before nuzzling him gently and starting to give him a bath.
After a moment she yawned herself and laid her head down. Closing her eyes she slipped into a comfortable sleep though her eyes remained alert and active. She truly hoped this scene would not turn nasty.
