Her paws gave pause at the sound of a new voice, accompanying the scent of a recently killed hare. For a moment Merrill thought Enli had returned, bringing some sort of new wolf as well as a meal, but no sign of the Green Hare was to be found. Instead, what was like solid sunlight stood within the bushels behind Pekko, conversing in a low tone. "Thought you said you didn't have anyone else," she pointed out, cocking an invisible brow as she surveyed the new female who was an apparant sibling if she heard correctly. "Suppose I saved a fat little liar then."
Of course she knew it was probably a safety manuever that he hadn't mentioned the girl's company, but a destester of lies is always a detester of lies - worse, considering how stubborn Merrill was. Pekko's haggard appearance and that of the yellow teen's could tell her enough without them speaking a word: something must have happened to them in the past to leave them a tad skittish and less than meaty-looking. She decided to cut to the chase then. "Merrill, like he said," the beta confirmed. "You'll tell me your name while we're on the way back home. I'll go back to border scenting after I drop you both off to rest in a den. Come along now, and pick up that hare!"
