"Wasn't my space. We just happened to be there at the time." Sally shrugged. The only territory she was horribly protective of was her own home; but even more specifically than that was her basement. That dark, lightless room with the tub full of blood... Would have made most people squick at the thought, but it made her so happy. It may not have been warm anymore, but...Oh well.

"It matters to me." Once pulled from her own thoughts she just had to use his own reasoning against him; of course twisting it a little bit to suit her own purposes. "Because unless you have a really good reason where I agree I'd have to forgive you, you won't get it from me." It was something of a threat, but his threat to her was naturally worse.

Not tonight, huh? That meant she'd have to put up with him tonight, but then she was scott-free until she was unfortunate enough to come across him again. "You need more friends."

Izaak gave a small shrug at her words, "Still," he insisted with a small murmur. He didn't couldn't think of any other reason why he irrationally wanted her forgiveness, he just quite simply did. That didn't make him insane did it? Probably did but he didn't feel the need to speculate further on the thought. It was negligible at best as far as he was concerned.

"Touché," he replied as he cleared his throat with a small cough and continued to follow along after her, listening to her words with a bit of a furrowed brow. A really good reason? He barely knew the reason why he wanted her to forgive him so badly or why it was important for her to do so. Izaak only knew that unless she did he couldn't put the matter to rest but it was a thought that he couldn't really verbalize very well it seemed beyond him.

The bald man tilted his head a bit and doubted she'd agree to it at all but still he had to ask, "Wanna be my friend?" he figured the answer would be a resounding 'no' or the question would be ignored just like the fact that he gave his name in hopes to gain hers was ignored.

"...'Still' Nothing." Sally snorted softly, her hands slipping into her pockets. She wandered in silence until he piped up again. His question made her stop in her tracks, her sickly eyes widening while they turned to look at him over her shoulder. Friends? Really? She never really made friends easily because generally friends were touchy-feely and being touchy-feely with her generally ended up giving them an early grave. But...to be a friend with a fellow predator? It could be beneficial. Really, touching a predator was different than touching a potential food source. It was essentially the difference between your meal of choice and cannibalism. Besides, if she did go beserk he'd be able to fight back a lot easier. She didn't really make friends often, but having him as her friend would ---

Wait.

Wait. Wait. Wait.

Didn't she hate this guy?

Yes. Yes she did.

So why was she seriously considering taking him up on her offer?! Agh, he tricked her! With an annoyed growl her glare returned, but it was considerably less sharp than it had previously been.

"No." She said flatly, but not as soundly as he'd predicted. "I don't. But I bet I have no choice anyway." Which was probably true; if he insisted on following her for forgiveness, he'd probably follow her now that he decided he wanted to be friends with her. It annoyed her, since there was another thing that stopped him from leaving her alone, but...

...It really would be nice to have a friend she couldn't snap like a twig.

Ah! Stop thinking that way!

"Heh," is all he gave to her snort as he followed her. Izaak continued to follow up until she suddenly stopped in her tracks after he had put forth his question and stared at her quietly. Did he ask something bad or was it good? Well it was good by his books because she didn't automatically tear at him or insult him which might be a promising step in the right direction...

...Or not.

Izaak looked hurt for a moment or two when she rejected his offer of friendship and then observed that she probably wouldn't have a choice in the matter. He shifted his shoulders a bit as he moved his hands to adjust the way his messenger bag's strap sat on his shoulder before her murmured softly, "You do have a choice, I never force friendship with me on anyone. Not everyone wants to be friends with me." his heavily lidded gaze looked away from her as he shifted his shoulders again as if to get rid of some sudden weight placed upon them, "Just... thought it'd be nice is all that we could be friends despite me being a thorn in your side right now."

'Not everyone wants to be friends with me' Wow, did she know how true that was. Only part of her doubted that Izaak accidentally killed his other 'friends'. Still, she doubted she could truly be friends with someone who was on her trail for something she didn't really understand, nor did she want to. Part of her did feel guilty for shooting him down, especially after he looked truly hurt, but still...she didn't really like him.

"I'll be your friend." Sally submitted, but the tone of her voice suggested she was nowhere near finished. There was a pause while she thought about how to word it to him, and once she figured it out she turned to face him, staring right at him.

"But only if you drop this whole need for my forgiveness thing."

He watched her quietly for a few moments his fingertips had begun to toy at the strap of his messenger bag as he tilted his head to the side while he waited to see what she would do or say. Izaak parted his lips a bit when she said she'd be his friend and remained quiet when she faced him when it seemed that she wasn't finished with what she wanted to say and actually widened his eyes, giving a glimpse of the strange slightly glowing crimson eyes he usually hid from the world.

Izaak felt his mind jitter in an agitated fashion for a long moment gnawing on the issue that it wouldn't let go, refused to let go. His eyes slid shut again once the shock seemed to have passed and his expression became calm again. Friendship was always ten times better than getting forgiveness for something that he wasn't sure that he did wrong anymore.

"Alright, dropped," he said simply.

Sally waited patiently for the male to make his decision, and when he did, a part of her felt relieved. She sighed, her rigid posture slipping until she was slouching slightly like she normally did, her right hand coming up to grab at her left arm. Somehow now, she didn't feel the need to be so on guard...the subject that harassed her was dropped, and she was happy about that.

"Sally." She said shortly, looking to the side and blatantly away from him. Still, her expression was more or less uneasy, certainly grudging. "That's my name." It almost sounded like she was forced to tell him, that she still didn't want to but she was anyway, for the sake of their rather unexpected 'friendship'. Turning again, she started walking. What else was she supposed to do, stand there like an idiot? Her walk was much more relaxed than it had been before.

He watched her as she seemed to almost deflate before his very eyes. The bald man carefully hid his amusement as he just waited to see what she would do next. It was almost as if she was someone completely different and he supposed that could be true, to a point. She was still herself but she seemed less cold than she was moments before.

"Pleased to meet you," he said simply when she finally gave him her name. It saved him the trouble of coming up with a name for him to use for her whenever they would next meet. Izaak had nearly settled on the name 'Susan' at some point. He quietly moved to stroll after her as his hands now moved to fold behind his back. What could they do now?

"Does this mean you'll stop running every time you see me?" he asked with an eyebrow slightly raised.

She wished she could say she was pleased to meet him. But she wasn't. So that particular comment was more or less ignored...or at least not responded to. His next question was thought over seriously, and in the end she shrugged.

"Maybe. I don't know. You'd follow me anyway." Because, while she ended up having a surprise choice in being his friend, she couldn't really have a choice once he decided to follow her. Or so she figured; he could very well surprise her again. But, considering he'd ran after her earlier...and in that he was still following her...it seemed plausable.

"...So...what do you do at night, aside from harass people?" They were friends, right? That meant she should at least try, right? Despite her still not liking him thing?

"Meb'be," he replied as he now began to just walk with a gait that was more of a stroll now his hands tucked behind his back where his fingertips clasped together as he walked along side his new friend. This was an odd way to make a friend, but he wasn't going to complain about it at this point. A friend was a friend no matter how much they seemed to hate you or how they seemed to be made in the first place.

Huh, what did he do at night other than harass people? That was a good question, he gazed upward for a moment or two before he spoke again, "I go to the arcades and play the games there sometimes, or I go to gambling places and play poker or something, though I lean toward mah jongg if I am gonna play a game to gamble," Izaak murmured lightly as he walked along, "most of the time I spend my evenings in the libraries doing research on things."

May as well return the courtesy, "What do you do at night?"

Sally listened to him quietly. Arcades, Casinos, Libraries...all places she couldn't go without an invitation. Even outside of that, they were all places she couldn't go without potentially killing someone or losing control. There was a twinge of jealousy and a deeper hatred for this man started bubbling in the back of her mind. He was a predator, but he still got to do all those wonderful things.

Life just wasn't fair.

"I..." She started once he asked her what she did. Nothing as exciting as that to be sure! Not even close. "I...wander. Or Read. Or Watch the stars." That was it, really. There were very few buildings that she could enter right now, and she didn't have the courage or will power to ask for entry into others. Life was pretty boring, and lonely...

"I'm very boring."

Izaak seemed very much unaware of her jealousy and her hatred as he walked with her quietly. He still needed to go to the library but it'd still be open and even if it wasn't ... He had ways to get in. He listened to her list of 'hobbies' with a thoughtful cant to his bald head. She was right she was boring but then again it probably wasn't her fault there was probably a reason why she didn't do much at night.

"Alright, let's say," He was working on an assumption there was a reason for this lack of 'nighttime hobbies', "that you had unlimited access to things, what would you like to do then?"

Maybe he could help her out. Despite how she might feel toward him he did genuinely want to help her out for reasons he was unsure of but it was true. He'd get her things she wanted and needed because he could.

If she had unlimited access to things...Wow, what a full question! There was so much she wanted to do, and something told her that he wouldn't accept something like 'Have a life' as an answer. So she made a soft noise to acknowledge that she had heard and that she was thinking it over, absently wandering through the town she had found herself in. It didn't even cross her mind that she never told him that she DIDN'T have unlimited access to things. While she was usually pretty guarded about that sort of thing, she did still have things she wanted to do, things she used to do that she no longer could because of her restrictions.

"I would...like to be able to do what you do." Sally admitted a little later with a heavy sigh, shaking her head softly. Yeah, he was free to wander where he wanted, that's what she wanted to do, too...if she could. "Go to Libraries, Arcades, Malls..." There was a brief pause in which Sally moved a bit, her head lowering and tilting a bit like there was a sudden weight put upon her. 'I'd like to find where my husband was buried' ran through her mind, but she couldn't bring herself to say it. "...You know, 'normal' things." She finished like thats how she was originally going to end her story to begin with.

"I'm content with the way things are now, though." She lied.

"Mhm," he murmured lightly as he fiddled with the strap of his messenger bag. Assumptions seemed to be getting him somewhere and all those years of studying folklore and stories certainly didn't leave him clueless but he didn't want to pry too much. It seemed a little soon to pry. His expression softened at her change of posture, it wasn't pity as much as feel of compassion for what she must be going through to be so isolated but this seemed different somehow but he couldn't put his fingers on it.

Don't pry; you just got her to be your friend. Don't pry.

Though at her last words he visibly frowned, "Bullshit," he replied stubbornly as he ran a hand over his bald head and gazed skyward toward the stars for a long moment before he spoke, "Is there anyway I can help you, at all? We are friends and friends help each other."

Damn, he caught me. Sally thought when he called her Bullshit. Sighing, the Monster ran her fingers through her copper hair, twisting a piece around her index finger. She didn't say anything though, and was content in their silence until he finally spoke up, offering his assistance to her. Sickly eyes turned a quizzical stare to him; so he went from being annoying, to being annoyingly nice? Her lips twisted into a grim smile. Invite me into places. Her mind screamed, but her voice only said: "Nothing." Releasing the grip on her hair, she let her arms drop and sway at her sides as they saw fit. "Don't go bragging about the things you do at night?" Or you could invite me into buildings. Sally hissed quietly, trying to shut up her inner thoughts. Even if he did invite her, she couldn't guarantee her behavior if there was someone there that she could munch on.

Okay fine, invite me into buildings AND keep an eye on me. A little voice in the back of her mind was trying it's best to meet on even grounds, but apparently her conscience AND whatever sense of justice she had left just wouldn't hear of it.

"...But..." Sally said softly, and in a remarkably unsure tone of voice. Almost shy. Damn, he really made her question herself! The jerk. "I guess...you could lend me some new books?" The ones she had were worn down from the amount of re-reading she did.
