How we gonna pay, how we gonna pay, how we gonna pay, last year's rent?

Homans, we listened to that in the Green Room during our performance this year. It was amazing. But someone put seasons of love on repeat. Which got in my head and bugged me.

We're not gonna pay, we're not gonna pay, we're not gonna pay, last year's rent, this year's rent, next year's rent!

Stunning movie.
Absolutely fantastic broadway performance.
You could say I'm quite a bit obsessed. :'D

"One Song, Glory" is now one of our warm-up songs in Choir.

Our Small Voc Ensamble did "Seasons of love" and our concert choir (which would be the one I'm in) did Love Heals... it wasnt actually in the movie, but it's on the soundtrack. Hell, it took us forever, and people have no rhythm Dx

Being the drummer, I hate when they don't count or try for rhythm.

But it sounded awesome! =D

Annie of the Bananie
OMG LAIK I TOTALLY LOVE RENT!!! OMGOMGOMG! Yeah that much. Im a theatre nerd, so I watch a lot of musicals, and my best friend is going to be on broadway someday. (Im not joking... He got a role in Catz at the biggest theatre we have in in this state... while he was still in highschool) I really liked the movie, but missed some of the good songs like "Goodbye Love" that unfortuantly didn't make it into the movie. But then again one has to keep in mind that in live theatre you get an intermission. I seem to be the only one in this guild who has this opinion... but I really liked the re-casts. The broadway Mimi... Im sorry to say was a HORRIBLE singer. I'm not familiar with the actress, so it could just be a character voice... but it was a painful one, and Joanne's actress in the movie was an amazing singer! Ugh! It was awesome. I cried the entire second half of the movie <3

I agree that the recasts were very good, along with the originals... however the broadway actress you saw worked her a** off her whole life to be there, and obviously she wasn't "painful" or she wouldn't have been cast as one of the biggest roles in broadway adn people woiuldn't pay 100 bucks a shot to see her...

I agree wholeheartedly. The broadway Mimi may not have had a dazzling voice, but would YOU if you were on crack, having work as an exotic dancer, and trying to make a living in the slums of New York? I think that Rosario Dawson had a very, very digitized voice, and it sounded way too "innocent."

Although I agree about the movie Joanne and her voice. <3!!!

It was a phenomenal movie and it puts a lot of performances of RENT in my choir to shame.

heh... i'm kinda worried though... I'm going to go out for Collins, and my voice is a little low for that part, I think... I'm trying to work on my range, so hopefully it will work.
