Skull Face Gibb ive tried to breed a ditto with my mewtwo and it wont work if you read the previous posts you'd know the reason: Mewtwo, and any other legendary except manaphy cannot breed at all Manaphy's only ability however is to acquire Phione by Egg

Aww Heck good to have ya, and i was unsure how to go about such a thread so i kinda didnt do anything about it, my apologies, management of a guild can be perplexing at times however, I myself, need some advice: i'm trying to get get an Adamant Gallade with Will-o-wisp, to add to my aether team, but i'm having roblems with breeding it on, nothing seems to pass it, any ideas on what male pokemon to use? someone said shuppet/bannette but i tried in both emerald and in platinum, but no results all help is appreciated, tanks Did you know if you have an adamant parent you can give them an everstone and the resulting offspring will have a chance at being adamant? I think it's like a 50/50 chance so it's good chances you'll get it - you could try breeding a ralts with an adament father and then giving the offspring the tm will o wisp if it works

Madame Joli Rouge Shuppet lacks in defense also ._. going on a stat bash out? anywyas i need to add this:: THere are levels on which breeding will happen: Like each other --- the highest i've seen, they will breed quickly, but can take their tme Dont like Each other Much --- takes a long time, but tey will breed, many G/S/C player found this as a surprising change, i know i did prefer others - only level on which they wont breed - most all legendaries are here, save for manaphy to obtain Phione

In PLatinum, if you get the National Pokedex from Professor Oak and visit him in Eterna, he'll tell you about Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos. Then you can catch them. Bring a Ditto from LEAFGREEN/FIRERED VERSION ONLY and you can breed them. I now have a super team of Moltres. ^^

Hi, I have a question and again I have Pokemon Diamond. I'm trying to breed Chimchar but I keep failing. My Chimchar which I got from GTS was at level 1. I bumped it up through battling to lv 20. (I used an Everstone to keep it from evolving) Then I put it in the Day care with Ponyta lv 17 but I keep just getting baby Ponytas! I only did this since they are both Fire types and though I would have a good shot.
Oh Chimchar is male and the Ponyta was female btw. Is there any other Pokemon that Chimchar might breed with that will ensure another Chimchar?

Is there any other Pokemon that Chimchar might breed with that will ensure another Chimchar? thats why, the mother determine the specieis, in this case ponyta or rapidash being female will ---only--- give pontyta but you could breed some f chimchar's moves onto it as males pass down moves

Miss-dark: If you're in Diamond, go to the small patch of grass outside Canalave City. If you use the Poke Radar there, you can sometimes find a Ditto! If you're lucky, they'll sometimes be holding Quick Powder, which is an item specifically used by Ditto to boost its speed.
As far as breeding goes, I tend to be more of a collector. I pretty much only breed to get pokemon that don't appear in the game, or to get a complete evolutionary set. sweatdrop
I think you guys have covered most of the basics, though. To summarize:
~ The female pokemon determines species.
~ If the female is holding an Everstone, it's highly likely that the baby will have the mother's nature. This is apparently only true of the female; I don't think it will have any effect if the male is holding it.
~ Moves that both parents know are most likely to be transferred to the baby. Example: Honchkrow and Murkrow that both know Dark Pulse = Murkrow that hatches knows Dark Pulse.
~ If you breed a pokemon with Ditto, it will only learn egg moves, usually the same moves it would know if caught in the wild. I have never had a Ditto-bred pokemon that knows anything beyond those starter moves.
~ Legendaries cannot breed with Ditto, with the exception of Manaphy. Breeding Ditto and Manaphy will result in Phione, which does not evolve.
~ Certain incense items are needed to breed certain pokemon. I cannot remember them all off the top of my head, but one example is to get a Happiny, you have to breed a Chansey that's holding a Luck Incense. (I'm 90% certain that's correct.) Other pokemon like this include Mantine, Bonsly, Marill, and Snorlax. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!!)
~ Pichu can learn a special Egg-only move called Volt Tackle if a Level 25 Pikachu is bred with a pokemon from the Fairy group while holding a Light Orb. I've never found a Light Orb in the game, but supposedly Pichu and Pikachu both sometimes carry it.
