Train's smile widened a bit and she hugged the PokèBall to her chest, already imagining the Growlithe scorching his opponents with powerful jets of flames. So, when Callum asked for a battle, she couldn't help but blurt out a, "Definately!" Almost right away. She felt a little dumb for responding so loudly, but luckily there didn't seem to be anyone else in the PokèCenter at the time. Train turned and motioned for Pikachu to follow, and the electric mouse scrambled up onto her shoulder, gazing down at the ball and wondering what this new Pokèmon was going to be like.

Train led the way out of the Center and glanced over at Callum only to make sure he was following. It wouldn't take them long to get to the edge of the city, and they didn't need to go very far outside of it once they got there, anyway. She absolutely couldn't wait to battle the new addition to her team.

Leon followed his parents through the main entrance of the building hosting the Gala. They immediatly wanted to get mixed in with all the bustle, and he soon lost sight of them. Just as he was about to make his way to and empty table, his mother reappeared from the crowd and grabbed his sleeve, tugging him after and saying, "Be social! It's not every day you get to go to a fine party like this!"

Thank god, Leon thought, wondering what on earth he'd do if he had to do something like this every day. He remembered something and glanced around quickly, relieved when he spotted Muuma floating alongside him, though having a bit of trouble keeping up with him and his mother in the crowd. He really didn't feel like withdrawing her into her PokèBall, so he just made sure to keep an eye on her, which wasn't very difficult considering his parents were the ones doing all the talking and he was just standing awkwardly beside them, feeling like a little kid and an idiot, and he was already bored out of his mind.

He hadn't expected a yes. Kilik's face dropped for a moment, mostly out of shock, but almost immediately rose to a smile. He placed a hand on her hip while lifting up their locked hands. It suddenly occurred to him exactly how much taller he was than her. At least a foot, he thought, I'm a giant! He frowned for a moment, but then smiled back down at her, swaying to the music rather awkwardly. He had never learned to dance. "If you can lead, go right ahead," Kilik laughed, "Cause I have no idea what I'm doing."

Though he had to admit, it was rather nice. Despite being so ridiculously tall, he could enjoy himself and have fun with his new closest friend. It's odd how fast we've attached to each other, he thought with a mental laugh. Half of him wanted to keep this night going for as long as it could, but the other half was too excited to travel the Sinnoh region and wanted to get it over with. Like usual, he was in conflict with himself.

A smirk appeared on Giovanni's face as he watched the Tauros thrash around his arena. He had reinforced the concrete so much that even his Rhydon's Earthquake would hardly crack the surface. As he continued to watch the bull display its strength, he took a file from his desk. "Mewtwo was the most powerful Pokemon ever created," he thought, "And we continued with our genetic research in the form of Poppite. As I watched Kilik battle with Poppite, I realized that it would not be nearly as powerful as Mewtwo. Could it be that we capped out our research with our first success?" He thumbed through the pages.

"And our technology far exceeds that of even Silph Co." Giovanni saw that the Tauros was stopping to take a breather. He scowled and snapped his fingers. A grunt on the sidelines commanded that his Magneton give the bull a little shock to get it moving again. Tauros let out a loud groan and continued to buck around, displaying his Slam and Tackle attacks. "If I could perhaps combine the strength of Mewtwo with our technology..." he had to think of how a machine could even handle that kind of power. That was the block in his road - no machine, Rocket engineered or otherwise, could be capable of such a feat. He slammed the file shut in disgust. He would find a way around that obstacle.

She smiled lightly, placing her hand onto his shoulder with a bit of difficulty. There sure was a big height difference, though Mitsu had to admit that the heels definitely helped by adding a few inches to her otherwise rather short stature. She mentally laughed after soon finding out that Kilik wasn't the best of dancers. With the outfit he was wearing one would have guessed that he was an expert or something. "Haha, sure," Mitsu replied taking the lead. She wasn't the best lead as Liza or Tate would normally take that position when their mother had taught them to dance. Tate had complained about dancing with his sister, so that where Mitsu had came in. She couldn't complain, the dance lessons were paying off. She'd often thought it was something that she'd never have a use for.

Her feet almost moved on their own, lightly stepping around Kilik's odd and sometimes random steps gracefully. Her heels clicking against the dance floor lightly in a way that complimented the music. Mitsu hummed along with the orchestra in her head, enjoying the light and airy music that they were composing. It was music fitting for an upscale breeder's gala, at least she assumed since she herself had never been to one before. They spun around like the other couples around them, somehow avoiding crashing into others on the rather crowded room. "You're not half bad," Mitsu replied looking up at Kilik.

Sam returned the contest hall, still holding Star's hand. Star was still fairly short in her new form, so she had to reach a bit. She swung her other hand (or was it a fin?), and looked around. She tugged Sam around, trying to find another pokemon to talk with. She wasn't having much success, seeing as most had left their pokemon at home, or in their pokeballs. She did see this creepy floating pokemon, but it scared her way too much.

Sam sat down at a empty table, and Star hopped up next to her. She liked being able to move on two legs now, it was much more convienent then walking on all fours. Sam wasn't inclined to get up and move, so Star left to wander around on her own. Sam, to her credit, started to get up to follow her but got dizzy and sat back down. She instead merely watched as Star dodged surprised guests, and examined some of the Hoenn breeders. By now, she was pretty far away from Sam, and Sam was getting worried. She tried standing again, even though she knew it would have the same outcome. She had these spells where all she could do is wait for it to go away, otherwise she would vomit or faint.

Star had found a person who specialized in breeding the starter pokemon from Hoenn. She found several blue eggs that she knew contained baby Mudkips. She also looked at the orange eggs and green eggs. Her skin prickled at the sight of the Treecko eggs, inherent rivalry or something of the sort, but she felt a sense of superiority looking at the Torchic eggs. 'Ha, you'd be so easy to win in a fight. Stupid Fire-Types.' She touched one of the eggs, but quickly yanked her hand back. It was burning hot. "Hey! Don't touch those!" The breeder in charge came dashing over, and picked Star up. She struggled against his grip, baring her teeth. He dropped her on a table, and she spit a little stream of water in his face. He wiped it off. He tsked. "Some people...don't teach their pokemon manners..." he grumbled. As he turned, Star launched herself at his back. He yelped, and cried out as Star bit his shoulder. Sam, hearing the commotion, stood up quickly, nearly falling over. She ran towards the booth, removing Star's ball in the process. She hastily recalled her, as she swayed on the spot. Her vision fizzled at the edges. People were whispering.

"What was that?"

"What's going on?"

"Is that her trainer?"

"Is she drunk?" Sam took a deep breath, steadying the gag reflex.

"I am so sorry," she said to the man. He sucked in his breath, face red with anger. She backed away. "I think it's time for me to leave," she squeaked, and headed for the door, tripping a couple times. As she reached the door, she froze. 'The egg!' She had left it at the table after dashing after Star. She looked back to the table and started to head towards it. She nearly fell again, this time from the dizziness. Suddenly, she felt herself lifted.

"Okay ma'am, I think it's time you left." The big, burly security guard politely shoved her out the door.

"No you don't understand, my egg, it's still inside!" she cried.

"Okay, ma'am, just wait out here and calm down. You can return back when you're sober."

"What the...I am sober! I'm 14! I need my egg!"

"Alright ma'am, I'll go get it for you. What does it look like?" he said, trying to just placate her.

"It's in an orange sack, kinda dingy. It's a blue egg, with yellow spots. I left it on my table."

"Of course. Just wait out here." He headed back inside. Sam waited...and waited.

It didn't take long to reach the southwest exit. Even the guard there looked surprised to see Mia leaving, no, actually leaving. She quickly explained to him that she was pretty much getting the boot from Pastoria but that she'd be back soon! Outside the gate was what she called the land of mud. It was everywhere! People walked through them slowly, still getting sucked into the nasty junk. Mia, a local, always knew to bring a good backpack and some extra clothes. Hopefully those silly people trapped in mud that acted like quicksand would be as smart as she was.

The blue haired girl literally skipped through the mud, often send a mini wave of the wet dirt into people's face. She giggled an apology before dashing off. Even if they were angry they couldn't catch her here! They didn't know where the muck was thin and where it was thick. She even made it a point to kick some mud into the face of a struggling rich lady whose thousand dollar outfit was surely ruined. "Sorry~!" she sang while skipping away.

But oh! Fate is such a cruel thing. Just as she'd escaped the lady she herself heard the tell-tale "shlooooop" noise and sunk into a pit of mud. She laughed, wiggling around a bit, trying to get loose. It was easy to get out, you just had to move enough, but not too much to get loose. Once loose she found herself with a rather red faced lady who's pink and white dress was now accented with a lovely shade of brown. "Oh, hi there!" Mia replied smiling, not even realizing it was the same lady she fed a face full of mud to.

"Thanks," he said, "But half of bad is still bad." He joked, of course. He appreciated her comment. He twirled her around a bit, then (almost falling over) pulled her in backward, wrapping his arms around her with his hands on her stomach. He swayed a bit, looking down into her hair. The music slightly changed, so very awkwardly, he spun her out again and that was it. The orchestra stopped, as it appeared to be their break time. Kilik laughed and somewhat thanked the stars that it was over. A whole ten minutes of dancing was ten minutes more than he had danced in his life.

He walked to a chair and sat down. With a sigh, he looked up at Mitsu. "That was fun," he laughed, taking off his monocle to wipe it with the kerchief that was in his breast pocket. His eye caught something - someone with a green and red egg. "Say, that's a Treeko egg," he stood up. Kilik checked a clock then pondered for a minute. None of my friends have a Treeko...They've got Torchic and Mudkip, but Treeko seems to be a rarity among my circle. "Say, Mitsu, do you mind coming with me to the Hoenn room again?"

Though he didn't wait for a response, as he took her hand and walked down the hallway, entering the large Hoenn room. He saw that there as one Treeko egg still sitting on a pedestal. Letting her go, Kilik walked up to it and saw the Breeder standing there with his back turned to them. He was a very large man in a red suit. "Say, this is a Treeko egg, right?"

"Why yes, my boy! How are you Kilik?"

"Mr. Grossberg!?" Kilik's eyes widened, "I didn't know you were a breeder," he laughed a bit.

"I do it in my spare time, my boy," he laughed, twirling his mustache, "But I'm afraid that this Trainer made it to the Egg just a split second before you.The boy waved over at Kilik with a smug look on his face. "Chris is the name, and this Treeko is all mine."

Kilik scowled. "Battle you for it?" The boy didn't think for a second. "Bring it." Guys never turn down battles, Kilik thought with a laugh. Grossberg laughed. "Alright boys, I'll hold onto the Egg in here and the winner gets it. Come back when you're done. Both boys nodded and Kilik looked over at Mitsu. "Comin'?" he asked, following Chris out of the room. He didn't want to just up and leave her.

Closing her eyes Mitsu enjoyed their dance as they swayed from left to right. Nope, not bad at all she thought as he wrapped his arms around her. It was rather odd that she'd gotten along so easily with him now as she'd rarely spoken to him before, even during the Five Island event. Well she wasn't going to question good fortune, as confusing as odd as it was. The music was beginning to slow and with a final twirl their dance ended. The orchestra began to play some soft background music for the room and slowly but surely the dance floor began to empty and soon the room was not nearly as full as it once was.

"Very fun," she agreed with a smile. She took a seat next to him but as it seemed sitting was not something he was intent on doing. Before she knew it she was up again and following him back to the Hoenn room where they'd just been. It seemed he was interested in a Treecko egg. When they'd arrive Kilik spotted a breeder he apparently knew. Mitsu smiled, not really saying anything as Kilik and the man seemed to be doing business or some sort.

Well, that was until a boy appeared. She would have said hi to him, but that smug look on his face displeased her. Boys she thought with a slight roll of her eyes. Did they really have to decide who got the egg with a battle? "Coming," she confirmed follow Kilik and Chris out of the Contest Hall. The night air was a bit chilly, she rubbed her left arm trying to keep it from becoming too cold. She wished that Violet would have included a wrap. "Finish it fast Kilik?" she asked, "It's kind of cold out here." She shot the other boy a look before smiling, Kilik would win she was sure of it.

Kilik removed his crimson jacket and walked over to Mitsu, draping it over her shoulders. It didn't exactly match her dress, but if it kept her warm, he figured that matching wasn't the most important thing. "How's a one on one, Chris?"

"Sounds good to me! I'll choose..." he slid a hand around the Pokeballs on his belt. "Go, Electabuzz!" he tossed the ball and the familiar feline Electric-type came out, landing on the ground. This Electabuzz looked a lot more ferocious than Kilik's. "So, you gonna choose?"

Kilik scowled again. I could go with Aggron, he thought, And get the easy win. Mitsu did say to make it quick. Plus, that Electabuzz does look freshly evolved. "Alright, Cable, come on out!" And so Kilik's Electabuzz emerged on the battlefield, shocked that he was battling so late at night. But when his eyes caught on with the opponent, a chill ran up his fur. Static began to shower the field. He really didn't like this other Electabuzz. Cable looked over his shoulder at Kilik. "Let's get started! Use Brick Break!" Cable nodded and with blinding speed, ran over to his foe and landed a solid hit on the opponent's jaw. He smirked. What a weak Electabuzz!

"Ah, another Electabuzz! This should be interesting!" Chris dug his foot into the dirt, but before he could issue a command, his Pokemon took a solid hit to the face. "Grrrr..." he grumbled, "Use Quick Attack!" His Electabuzz managed to regain his ground and dash at Cable with a streak of white light streaming behind him. He slammed hard into Cable's stomach, causing the air to be knocked out of him. Gasping, Cable took a few steps, holding his stomach.

Wow, Kilik thought with a slight whistle, stronger than he looks. But it's all about speed! Can't hit what you can't catch!

Mitsu snuggled into his crimson jacket, wrapping it closer to her body. It was still warm from Kilik's body. She sighed, the cold of the night air leaving fairly soon. Now that she was more comfortable she could watch the battle without having to shiver. It looked to be a one on one and both fighters were Electabuzz. She noted that Cable didn't seem too fond of his own species. It reminded her of Karri, though Karri didn't mind other Ralts, Kirlias, or Gardevoirs. She merely considered herself to be the best and most beautiful out of them all. Mitsu mentally laughed at her close friend's vanity.

Mitsu stood a bit off from the battle, steering clear of both the battle field and the two trainers. She returned her thoughts to the battle at hand as the two Electric types traded blow for blow. Chris's Electabuzz didn't seem to be as impressive as Cable's. Perhaps this battle would be as fast as she had assumed. Show `em who's boss Cable! Mitsu cheered in her head.

"No, I'll be fine," Keegan answered, following Riza's gaze towards the elaborately decorated building. He could sense her reluctance to go back in, and for a moment he was tempted to just say 'Hey let's get out of here,' but, he remembered the discussion they'd had earlier about just having fun, and he sighed heavily, hoping he wouldn't regret this. "Let's go back inside, maybe we can go see what kind of Pokemon they're offering. Maybe we could even get them to commission us an egg or something. Plus, if you ask nicely enough, I might even give you that dance you want oh-so badly," He seriously contemplated taking Riza's hand as they walked back inside but he quickly decided against it, instead opting to keep one hand tucked into the pocket of his pants while the other fiddled with the row of Pokeballs along his waist strap, and he was quite glad he hadn't left his Pokemon behind. Things were just as they had been before he'd went outside, only the crowd seemed to have thinned a little. Some were dancing in the main hall while others seemed to be just mingling. Keegan led the way towards some of the rooms that branched off down a hallway, certain he'd find out where his parents had set up shop for their facility. He wasn't exactly excited to see them but he knew they'd be surprised to see him here at the Gala, and all dressed up as well.

He thought he saw Kilik and Mitsu, as well as a second boy, brush past as they made their way inside but he couldn't be sure. Sure enough, his parents were there, both dressed to the letter, talking with what appeared to be clients. They had brochures and pamphlets set out around their table as well as many photos of eggs and baby Pokemon alike that they'd raised. Taking a deep breath he approached the two of them, waiting for them to be finished their conversation before he cleared his throat. "Mom, Dad," he said, chuckling a little. "Fancy seeing you two here."
=====
Miharu didn't even really notice that Tyra wasn't saying much as she wasn't exactly a gifted conversationalist either. She idly wondered if there was a ferry that would take her across from Olivine to Cianwood but she didn't voice these thoughts out loud. They arrived in Olivine not much later and Miharu soon felt that familiar feeling of fear creeping up in the pit of her stomach. She hated visiting a place for the first time because she didn't know where anything was and it always put her on edge. They were still up on somewhat of a hill though, and Miharu could spot the red-roofed building that was the Pokemon Center from where she was and it made her feel a little better. Knowing something else that would ease her worry she plucked a Pokeball from her belt and tossed it out in front of her, revealing her loyal yet quite strange partner, Tingle. The Metang appeared to be quite happy to be out of it's Pokeball as it spun around, one arm pointed straight up in the air as usual, 'dancing' to some strange beat that only it could hear.

A little more confident now that her first and oldest Pokemon was at her side she continued towards the harbor town, turning to smile at Tyra and Hunter. Though the two were far from chatty it was still nice to have company during the trek.

"Swift!"
"Swift!"

Both of the Electabuzz jumped far away from each other and began to shoot stars out of their hands. The attacks collided in the air, and yet they continued to blast away at each other. "Cable!" Kilik barked. He closed his eyes. Quick Attack. One with my Pokemon...One with my Pokemon... He could see out of Cable's eyes. His knees began to buckle under him, and he placed a hand on his head, groaning. The boy opened his eyes and nearly fell over. Cable felt a sudden urge to use Quick Attack. He looked over at his Trainer to see that he was distressed. The feline stopped with his Swift immediately and took the damage, dashing forward with Quick Attack to slam his opponent in the stomach. Payback!

"Electabuzz, Thunderpunch!" he cried out. After getting back to his feet, Chris' Electabuzz charged up a Thunderpunch and ran at Cable full speed.

"Show 'im what a real Thunderpunch looks like, Cable!" With a nod, Cable slammed his fist into his opponent's. The two of them stood their ground, grinding their fists into the other's. Sparks were flying. To add a little foul play, Cable slammed his fist into his foe's side with a Brick Break. When he found the opening, he unleashed a Quick Attack to show him who was boss.

This was the shortest battle Chris had ever experienced. He scowled and recalled his Electabuzz. "I'll just have my dad breed me a Treeko! Whatever man!" and with that, he disappeared towards the Pokemon Center. Kilik recalled Cable and looked over at Mitsu. "Fast enough for you?" he laughed, walking her back inside to retrieve his Egg.

He walked into the Hoenn room, approaching Grossberg. "Sir, I won." With a laugh, he handed the boy the Egg. "Take good care of it, Kilik. I know that Treeko'll be happy with ya." He waved so long and left the room. Kilik rubbed the top of the Egg, looking at Mitsu. "Sweet," he laughed.

Riza's eyes lit up at the mention of eggs and she nodded, quickly falling into stride beside the red head as the two of them headed back inside the building. Though once inside Riza was a bit hesitant to give Keegan back his jacket she did eventually, giving her thanks once again. "I'm not going to forget about that dance either, and your offer just sealed it in stone," she warned, deciding to take a chance. She linked her arm through his so that he would be effectively escorting her through the hall.

Riza paid little attention to anyone else as they made their way down a hall and into a separate room. There were people inside that were completely unfamiliar to Riza but she guessed by the way they had their tables set up that they were breeders. Keegan seemed to find just who he was looking for and headed for a specific table. Riza was quite surprised to find out that these two people were actually Keegan's parents. She wanted to say something but her voice wouldn't let her, so she decided to remain quiet and wait to be introduced.

'They charged up and used spark last time and we dodged it, so we will just have to do the same thing this time as well!' Katie grinned, feeling more and more confident that she would win this match. "Genki, use ember again! Give it everything you've got!" the orange haired girl shouted.

More laughter escaped the Monferno as he took a few steps forward and did a handspring into the air, spinning rapidly and sending a rain or blazing embers raining down towards the Luxio as it charged power.

With some of her energy restored, Sweetness easily dodged the Shinx's next attack. Still the Budew had to give the kitten some credit, it easily managed to land the next attack, granted it was once again from behind. Sweetness was starting to feel as though the Shinx had no idea what exactly a fair fight was.

It was the second attack that the electric kitten landed on Isabelle's pokmon that finally managed to get the still battered girl back to her feet. "As if." She hissed. The Shinx swerved around one more time as though it was once again going to attack Sweetness. Isabelle without a second thought in her brain picked up the nearest and biggest rock she could lift with her tiny arms and chucked it right at the pokemon. She was careful of course to do it before the Shinx was anywhere near Sweetness. Isabelle wasn't into beating up on pokemon, but she also wasn’t going to let some no nick pokemon fight dirty just so it could win some random attack against her tiny little flower.

The rock landed just shy of the pokemon, but it was enough to make the Shinx back up a bit and look as though it wanted to hide. Sweetness turned to look at her trainer. The budew was actually surprised that her trainer actually had the balls to do something like that. On the other hand the pokemon was slightly miffed that Isabelle felt the need to step into a battle like for her.

Sweetness turned her attention back to the Shinx. The anger inside of her made her stronger. She focused all of her attention on the now shell shocked kitten and sent the biggest energy ball she had ever been able to produce towards the other pokemon. Once it was released Sweetness just took a small step back and admired the glowing green orb for a split second before it dissolved into the body of the Shinx. The light purple energy that returned to her was no less of an accomplishment.

Isabelle watched as the Shinx hobbled away after Sweetness impressive attack. ‘Attitude or not, these pokemon are definitely the bomb.’ She thought. She bent down and picked up the tiny little flower. She kissed its cheek, and in return got a tiny sting as the pokemon used it’s absorb attack on her. Instead of dropping her like she wanted to Isabelle managed a smile.

“Alright, that’s the last time I help you out in a battle.”

“Bud-d-dew!” squeaked Sweetness. Isabelle thought for sure if the thing had arms they would be crossed right now.

“Yes, yes. I promise.” She smiled and put the pokemon back down on the ground next to her. “Very well done though.”

Leon glanced in the direction of one of the breeding booths that was in the main hall as a short commotion stirred up, looking just in time the see the trainer recall her Pokèmon. He rolled his eyes are carelessness, then looked over at his parents. They seemed to be distracted by this little interruption and were discussing it quietly with their friends, and he took this opportunity to slip away from them, heading over to the non-alchoholic drink bar. After getting himself a glass of Coke, he wandered through the room until he found and empty table, settling himself in one of the chairs and idly sipping his drink, as bored as ever.

Muuma was bored as well, and really wouldn't have minded either leaving or at least interacting with someone. Unfortunatly for her, most trainers seemed to only be holding eggs, and there were hardly any unhatched Pokèmon in sight, which was really disappointing to her. Though, she did spot a few eggs of her own breed, and that was pretty cool.

Mitsu watched as they traded blow for blow, though Cable's attack always seemed to outmatch Chris's Electabuzz. Though she wondered in the back of her mind why he looked as if he were in so much pain as he issued a Quick Attack command. It was rather curious and she'd have to ask him about it later, if she remembered anyways. She smiled as Kilik and Cable had won the match, it was one of the fastest battles she'd witnessed so far. "To be honest, I didn't expect it to be that fast," she replied, placing emphasis on the word 'that.' Mitsu smiled as Kilik was given the egg, it was a lovely green hue and she wondered how much knowledge this Mr. Grossberg had about breeding. It seemed to be a quality Pokemon and she could only assume that he knew full well what he was doing. "Congrats!" Mitsu laughed as well, she was knew how good it felt to get a new Pokemon.

The night had seemed to slow down a bit as they returned to the main hall. She swore she spotted Keegan and his, er, date earlier as they walked back to the Hoenn room. Perhaps they could meet up later in the night. She'd only seen Kasiya really thus far and it wasn't even on a good note. And while she was on the subject of friends she wondered where Dante had disappeared off to, and if he had found a suit to change into, though she doubted that. Violet was a bit of an oddity after all. Maybe she'd see them later on, if not she would just have to wait till they got onto the boat to Sinnoh.

She led Kilik to a table and took a seat, resting her feet for a bit as she watched couples dance and eggs being exchanged and given away. Walking in heels for extended periods of time wasn't her forte. She flagged down one of the waiters and grabbed a flute of apple cider from the tray. She took a sip. "Planning on doing anything in particular in Sinnoh?" she asked.
