Reborn? Khuluma meant what the word stood for. To be born again. Did that mean that his parents were probably children just like he was, without a single memory of having him? He didn’t think that not parents could be even worse than having parents, but thinking that he could have parents that could never remember him or hold that connection to him struck hard into his chest. It felt like he was abandoned and forgotten. Thinking that his parents were around meant he might be able to find them. Thinking that he had none was kinder, because you couldn’t miss what you never had. It was thinking that he could have had parents that were gone, reborn, but would never recognize him, see him as a stranger…
Khuluma’s eyes misted as he picked up a few flowers and tried his best to tie them, but they fell apart in his small hands, just winkled petals and twisted stems. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t make it.
His eyes looked up at Nac, who was stringing together a necklace already. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair that Nac got to have parents. He had sibling s, a father, a mother, and they all loved him. They remembered him, and they had parents that looked for their children when they were lost. No one was looking for him.
“I’ve got to go. Thank you for showing me how to make the necklace. I’ll keep trying. I - I need to keep going. ” He didn’t want to hate Nac. Nac was a nice leopon who had a great dad and a happy personality. It warmed him how he was like his father, and he told him a lot of things he didn’t know. He just couldn’t be here right now. He wanted to be alone for once.
Grabbing the necklace, he set it down and smiled. “You should give it to your sister. She’ll like it. ” Forcing a smile, he turned and headed back from where he came from.

Nac looked at him curiously. Tail flickering, he was thinking, "If you want..." He called after the cub as he started to leave, he started to think before nodding, "You can call me family. I'm no god but I'm sure Lim'd be happy to have you call him family too." His tail flickered.
He hadn't meant to upset the kid he could tell that he was, but he couldn't really be like Lim and say call when you need me. His ears lightly laid on his skull."

Khuluma stopped. It was a nice thought. Even though they weren’t real family, it was a nice thought. Hidden in the ferns, he gave a small smile. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, just so he could say he had family somewhere. Not real family, but someone he could call family. He hoped Lim wouldn’t mind.
He couldn’t leave like that. Not after what he offered. Turning, he went back and appeared from under another fern to Nac’s right. “You’re very sweet. Can I have it – can I have it that you’ll be part of my family? I think I might make a big one of my own – even if I do have a real family somewhere. I think for now, maybe that friends idea could work. I can start my own family, right? I think – I think I might try like your father and make a lot of people happy if I can. I’d like to have a big family, and if you are okay with a small god in your family, I’d be happy to have you as the first leopon in my family. Maybe I can make you happy too someday.” Of course, Khuluma had no idea aside from company that that’s what family did, and in no way knew about the other way the God of Pleasure knew how to make families or how to make others happy. At least not now.

Nac chuckled and got up taking the flower necklace and placed it back over Khul's head before nuzzling him softly, "That necklace is a promise that you can have me as part of your family. Unlike that necklace though the promise won't die."
He sat there looking at the little one and grinned softly, before nodding. "We all have to start somewhere and sometimes, even the smallest start is still a start."
Nac's tail twitched softly he had a sort of soft spot for gods, and even more apparently for cubs. He nodded, "A big family is always a nice thing to shoot for." He paused and chuckled, "Ohh you'll have to meet my sister one day. She loves the idea of cubs. I'm sure you'd make her happy just by hanging around occasionally."
With a nod, "And to see her happy would make me happy to so it's killing a few birds with one stone." He grinned, "Heck she might even want in on the 'big' family too. So that'd be a start of three new family members if she does!"

Nac had a way with phrasing things beautifully. A friendship that didn’t die, not like wilting flowers that were just beautiful for a time. He was also glad to have the gift back, even though he was the one that had given it back. The nuzzle brightened up is mood considerably, and he cracked a genuine smile in return.
“A small start is all I can give right now.” He joked in reference to his age and size. Grinning, he touched the necklace, liking the feel and the meaning. “I would like to meet your sister sometime, and you can tell her that she can be my family too. I’d like for her to be happy, and for you to be happy too. Uh – that killing the birds with three stones thing. ”

Nac chuckled, "Eh size doesn't matter, it's how big your heart is."
His tail flickered softly nodding softly, "I will tell her of course." He smiled before sitting down again and laughing, "Two birds with one stone, Khul."

He thought about it, and repeated Nac. “Size doesn’t matter.” It sounded like sound advice, and it didn’t make him feel so bad about being small. Repeating made him remember.
“You know a lot of sayings, Nac. Who taught you? Did you have a teacher?”

He shrugged softly, "I meet a lot of lions and leopards around here in the jungle. Some of them say things that just rub off."
He sat down, "Not to mention some of them are common sense." He gently ruffled the cubs hair before making sure he didn't leave it too messy. His tail flickered before yawning.
He seemed to think, "Some things need teachers, like how to hunt... or fly in your case. Others just come naturally."

Messing up Khuluma’s hair was a great offense, and the cub set his ears back and pouted, scowling at Nac for messing up his hair before he set about fixing it. It was a scowl more for show, as he didn’t hate Nac, but it was to prove a point. “Ah. If you want to rub off on me, don’t touch the hair!” The cub went about spreading his claws and arranging his hair more nicely than before.
“That’s what I’m going to go after. I want other to rub off of me, and to find teachers. I want to learn and speak to many people, and speak and teach lots of people. I like sharing. ” He also liked company, and talking.
"Your dad was a great teacher. He made sure I didn't get hurt at all, and warned me all about what dangers there were. I still need practice though, but I'm much better at landing. " He opened hiw wings and flexed tdhem a few times, admiring them. "The landing hurt though. "

Nac looked at the cub and started laughing. "Oh my... your as bad as me. I'll remember that." His tail flickered, "My dad did that to me last time he saw me... took forever to get my mane fixed."
He nodded, "Yes, that's a good goal."
"I would think so. Landing on my own face is bad enough."

Khuluma looked up from his preening to eye Nac’s mane. Not having one for his own, he always wondered how having hair all around your face felt. Was a mane like his hair or was it soft and fluffy like the tip of your tail? Not to mention that Nac also had a big, puffy tail. He must be soft.
A thought struck him and he paused in his combing to look at the leopon. “You’re mane does look very handsome and soft. You must take good care of it. Nac, since you messed up my hair, can I touch your mane? It seems only fair after all.”

Nac chuckled as he laid down, "Of course, since we're alike in that" He flicked his tail softly, as he offered to let Khul play with his mane.
His tail flickered, "Of course I think your hair is prettier than mine and would be easier to keep up with than this silly mane."

Khuluma almost shouted with glee at being given permission, and eagerly approached the lion, eyes his mane and raising his paws. Reaching, he pushed his pads into the fur and his expression went wide and wide with delight. It felt as soft as it looked, thick enough that he would feel it between his paws and it gave a plush resistance when he pressed into it. Overjoyed, he scooted closer and nuzzled into the mane, overtaken by the impulse. Nuzzling into the mane, he giggled before pulling back and looking up.
“It’s fluffy! I’d sleep with you any day, Nac!” He declared, petting the mane as he enjoyed the sensation under his paws. Of course, he meant sleeping with Nac because he was warm and would be nice to use as someone to rest against. He was tickled with brief spurts of the giggles, as he wore a open grin, eyes as big as the sun.
“You’re so soft. I like my hair, but I wouldn’t mind having a mane if it was like yours. ” His eyes shot up and there was a glimmer in his blue eyes. “Is your tail fluffy too?!”

Nac laughed and murred at the attention. "Haha thank you, and you're welcome to sleep with me anytime you like if that's the case."
He chuckled he was so amused that the cub loved his mane, "I think it is... well I'd image it'd be fluffier than most. You're free to see what you think." He flicked it over towards Khul.

The offer made him flash a toothy grin and he landed on his paws to look over at the offered tail. It was so thick looking, and he was tempted to just pounce on it. Instead, he went over and took it into his paws, holding it before squeezing it to his chest and face. It was nice to cuddle with, and pressed his nose and face into the fur. It would have been nice to just carry around a tail like this for his own all the time to sleep with whenever he got tired. Cold rocks and dusty dirt were not the softest of materials for a nap, and his tail only had a small puff of fur, not nearly enough to keep him comfortable.
“Your siblings must sleep with you all the time. You’re snug and soft and probably really comfortable. Leopons are much softer than lions.”
