It was funny how a simple touch like that could send Remo reeling, but it did. Metaphorically, anyways. He stood there very still, ears perked and rather surprised. He nose was so nice and soft! But, what really caught his attention was what she said. "You're staying? " He'd try to sound neutral, but the happiness at the idea escape din his tone.
Hopefully, he wasn't just reading too deep into what she said.

Mii'ah stopped herself from laughing at his question. He didn't think that she would be staying? What a silly thought. She had worked so hard to get him to bring her there in the first place. She certainly wasn't going to be leaving any time soon. Not if she could stay anyway.
This was where she belonged, she knew it.
"Of course I am," she replied simply with a small smile.

Remo didn't even try to hide the delight on his face, and he smiled brightly. "That's great!" He beamed, seeming like a large weight had been taken off his shoulders. He seemed incapable of finding anything to say, at first, then softened slightly. Ï'm glad you're staying, because..."
He hesitated, then finished lamely. "Well, come on, I have so much to show you!" Well, he was still excited about that anyways. "Come on, follow me!" And since he was confident she'd follow, the cream colored male happily bounded through the marsh. Maybe some day he'd have the guts to tell her how he felt.
But today he'd settle for showing her around his (their?) home.
