A quick jump backwards was the only thing that saved Glissando from being hit by the falling tree. That mare was insane! Was she trying to kill him? Indignant fury filled Gliss. Backing down was no longer an option. Even if he was capable of thinking rationally at this point, his pride wouldn't allow it.

He kicked out blindly when the dust thrown up by the fallen tree got into his eyes. If the mare expected to sneak around and catch him off his guard while he was blinded he hoped to at least give her a hoof in the nose. His eyes watered and began to clear the dust away in squeezed out tears. He couldn't see her with all the debris thrown up... but she couldn't have gone far.

In one jump Gliss gained momentum and came to the fallen tree. In a second he was hurtling over it. He had flung himself towards where the mare had stood prior to knocking the tree down. If she was still there she was about to get a stallion barreling down on her!

Selena had her eyes closed. Her face was relaxed. She waited. She had moved slightly, knowing that the stallion would not run away, he had some pride, she would give him that. She now stood tall and strong on the edge of the path she was fallowing. The wind was blowing lightly in this direction, so if the dust cloud were to move, it would still cover her. Her hooves were white, but they were covered by a young bush. The rest of her body was still covered by dust. She had figured her next move out already, she could see the entire fight in her head. It was not set in stone, but the basic moves and actions were there. She had her next three steps planned. She was finally using her brains like how she use to when she was in her birth lands. When she was a foal.

She breathed in. Her handkerchief was over her nose, her eyes were closed. She was safe from the dust and dirt. And her ears were stiff, waiting for a sound she knew would be coming, the sound of disappointment or hooves falling where their owner did not want them to fall. Right now there was no sound. none at all. The stallion was in the air. She was in her safe spot. And Lurnu was up in a tree worrying.

Glissando's feathered tail flared out wide as he landed, intuitively using it to help his balance. He staggered forward instantly when he landed. His momentum was strong enough to not allow him a quick stop. The mare wasn't there! The dust still hung thick in the air and even with eyes squinted he could barely see anything. The dust stung at his eyes and drew bleary tears from them. Anger filled Glissando at this set back. Where was she?

Suspecting an attack, he whirled around. He still couldn't see or hear any sign of his opponent but he wouldn't let her catch him standing still.

"Where are you? Come out here!" he shouted furiously. He lashed out at random and felt his hoof strike something... but the resounding hollow sound told him that it had been a tree, not his foe.

"I said, come out here!" he shouted again, front hooves pawing furrows into the ground below them.

Selena's eyes shot open as the tree beside her head shook from the blow. She held her breathe. And then closed her eyes once more while she heard Gliss yell. His movements had been random and crazy, she could not detect which way they were being hurled, but now she knew she had to act. She waited until the dirt and dust moved with the wind. Then she opened her eyes, striking and strong, and let her handkerchief drop over her chest. She smirked.

"Im right here feather boy." She said proudly, legs ready to strike.

Lurnu gasped and became even more worried as she rose up to rear.

(I have since found a new RP color for him!)

The coward! Hiding and attacking him from out of nowhere! He didn't have time to contemplate that thought any further. He only had time to react. Glissando whirled around to face his attacker as she began her rear. He didn't have time to dodge at this point. She would just crash down on his hindquarters instead of his side if he did that.

Without an option for retreat and seething in anger, Glissando did the only thing he could think of at that moment. He attacked.

Instead of trying to dodge away he flung himself forward. His hope was that his larger bulk would catch the mare off-balance and throw her to the ground. It was likely that it would end up with both of them on the ground, but there he might have the advantage.

One of her hooves struck a numbing blow to the side of his face as he pushed forward, but his momentum was too great to stop even if he wanted to by that point...

Just as he whipped around, rage flashing in his face, she moved all her weight to her lifted legs, ready to crush him. Her back and back legs tensed for extra balance, and she swooped down on the stallion.
Her first leg missed its mark as he had moved, but still hit the side of the stallion's face, causing some damage. Just as her other leg began its descent on his back, he shoved forward. The move was unexpected and caught Selena off guard completely. She knew the best move was to strike down on him while she had the chance, but her instincts reacted faster, and so she took a few steps back before he made contact with her. He hit her right in the stomach, making her cough, but also swinging her onto his back. Her rear legs kicking the air.
As she fell onto him, she still took her opportunity and struck her raised leg, which impacted with his spine. However the stallion continued to run, having used too much energy while charging at her, and she slid off onto the ground. In a desperate attempt to stay on him, she bit his tail, but even with that she still feel onto the ground. Hitting her back on a rock and sending pain through her body.

Glissando staggered with pain. The damn mare had managed to hit him again during his attack, not to mention grabbing onto his tail and probably pulling out half the feathers. Was she still hanging on? His stagger was cut short by a weight hanging off him. Apparently she was still gripping onto him.

Glissando was getting tired of this fight. He hurt and the mare was a lot tougher than he had thought she was. Why wouldn't she just give up and run away already?

"Get off!" he shouted to the mare holding onto his tail. "Get off, idiot mare!" He tried to kick backwards but couldn't quite see where she was. He grimaced while making the movement. If she hadn't torn out half his tail feathers yet, that move was likely to do the rest.

He earnestly hoped she would give up soon. Glissando was starting to wonder if he'd bitten off a little more than he could chew...

Selena gripped onto his tail, some of the broken feathers piercing the inside of her mouth. She had two choices at this point. Hang on, continuing to be dragged and stabbed. Or let go, landing on the ground, and possibly being trampled by him. Not to mention losing the upper hand she felt as if she had gained.
She weighed out each in her mind quickly, also wondering if there was perhaps a third option. Right as she thought that, he began to kick. The first thrust was much too close and too much for her to handle, so she quickly restored to plan B. She quickly leg go of his tail, just as he kicked once more. Landing hard on the ground, legs twisted and one possibly sprained from the dragging. She took one moment to gather herself from the fall, and opened her eyes. Right above her were the descending hooves of the stallion. She shrieked the tried to roll to the side, but he had already landed on her mane. She pulled, only to be tugged by his hooves. "Get off!" She shrieked and then looked around for Lurnu.

Lurnu had been sitting in his tree, perfectly safe, watching the scene unfold beneath him. Ever moment when Selena was in any possible danger, he would quickly open his wings, ready to take flight. Only to see her regain her ground and continue on. It was quite mentally exhausting, joining into the fight took less energy away from him. However, when Selena looked right into his eyes, their minds locking, he knew this was the time to jump in. He sprung form his tree gliding perfectly into the current and flew right in front of the stallion.
"Stop here!" He cried and clung onto the stallion's forelock with his clawed feet, pulling back as if the mane was a break. He flapped backwards desperately willing him to stop, or at least calm down. "Stop, stop, STOP!" he cried as the stallion began to flail around.

Glissando had completely forgotten about the bat. When it flew down and grabbed him by the forelocks he reacted with instinctive surprise. He not only stepped off of the mare's mane, he lunged forward enough to be entirely clear of her. He shook his head violently, trying to dislodge the bat. He remembered it now from earlier in the confrontation but that knowledge did nothing to make him enjoy having it hanging onto him any better.

"Stupid... little... thing!" he shouted while thrashing his head and neck around.

He was in pain... stuck in a fight with a mare that would probably give him more pain very shortly... and he had a bat stuck to his face!

The day could hardly be going any worse.

Lurnu mumbled with irritation biting at his voice as the stallion flailed around and squirmed. "Stop-that-NOW!" He ordered as he was thrown around. he looked back to see Selena getting to her feet and shaking her head around. She did not look to badly injured, and the stallion was running further and further from her. His distraction was no longer needed. He attempted to shake and wiggle his legs free. But they were mercilessly entangled int he mane of the stallion. he had flailed and shook around so much that it had left Lurnu caught in the mane, like a bug in a web. He screeched. "Look at what you have done!" He flew up, attempting to tug his way free. He kept trying to free himself from the trap, each time feeling his claws pulling some of the hair out of the stallion's head. But finally he could fly free, though some strands of hair still wrapped around his legs. He flew right back to Selena.

Once the stallion had released her from his grip, she shook her head with pain. Now she had a headache from the tugging as well as the fall. Her foot was definitely sprained, she could feel it pulsating with hot pain. And her back ached from the fall as well ad the dragging and the odd position she had fallen upon him in. not to mentioned her sliced up mouth from his broken feathers. She got up to her feet, quick to get into the battle if the stallion decided to be even more reckless and continue it. She winced as she put weight on her twisted back right leg. "Damn..." she whispered. That would take at least two weeks to fully heal.

She stood up straight and dipped her back, making it crack. Then when she saw her familiar flying back to her she smirked and spat blood onto the ground.
"DO you want to end this now? We are both injured and tired. Dont be foolish feather but. Know your limits." She tensed her three good legs again, just incase he did infact chose to be foolish.

Glissando did want to end the fight. He was in pain and quickly getting fatigued. He was missing chunks of feathers, chunks of mane, and probably bits of hide here and there. He wanted to end the fight, though he'd have preferred if it ended with her running away. He didn't want to admit that he was tired. His pride and his temper balked at the idea.

"Does that mean that you're giving up, mare?" he shouted with a derisive lilt. "I'll take it easy on you if you want to stop it here. After all, I don't usually like beating up mares."

Though his words were tough his stance was a bit less so. His head hung wearily and his now scraggly tail hung limply behind him. Even if he didn't admit it, he was obviously worn out.

Selena straightened her back even further, hearing a couple snaps and cracks. What she wanted most was to continue fighting. She had not had such a responsive and interesting opponent for awhile.
"I am not giving up. I have taken much worse beatings than this!" She threw her hat off and untied her handkerchief and threw it next to the hat. Revealing the large scar on her chest. "I have not had such interesting prey for awhile. I have kind of missed this sort of sparing." She chuckled evilly and lowered her head, ready to run at him again. Though her breathing was heavy and pain was beginning to reach ever one of her muscles.

"If you wish to win a real battle, you take on the enemy with all you have in you. Regardless of gender and history. You have to strike fear into them and show that you are capable of holding your ground!" She shifted her front leg, ready to jump at him, waiting for his move.

Glissando watched the mare get back into her battle position. He watched... gritted his teeth together... crouched down in preparation... and paused.

He hurt. Already, he was in a lot of pain. He didn't want to do this anymore. She would just keep hurting him and he might not even be able to hurt her back.

One of his front hooves lifted and took a step back. There was something wet trickling down one of his back legs. Was it blood? Had he been cut somewhere he hadn't noticed?

He took another step back. A muscle in his leg twinged painfully when he did. Had he hurt his leg? How long would it take to heal?

He retreated quicker now. The fire in his eyes had burnt out. The mare might be still ready to fight him... but he wasn't ready to fight her anymore.

Her eyes were locked on him, never quivering. She was scanning and seeing his every move and every change in his fired eyes. She stood strong and motionless, waiting for his final choice. Lurnu perched on Selena's back, also ready to fight if need be. But, as they both watched, the other stallion began to slowly back up in retreat. He was surrendering.
"Wise choice." She smirked and relaxed her tightened legs slightly, but knowing better than to drop her guard. "The fight is over, and, as resentful as I am to admit it, you fought very well. Much better than most i have fought in these lands." And that was quite a few. She bowed her head politely. One of her golden moral was manners; she never fought or spoke or did anything would doing it gracefully and ending it gracefully. If the other deserved it ofcourse. And this stallion had actually gained her mild respect. "You fight well, but I suggest finding a teacher or mentor. You have strength and motivation, but you do not control it well. If you learned to harness it you would become much more of a threat." She picked up her hat and scarf from the ground, careful with her leg.

"I am Selena, I wish to know the name of my opponent."
