Wow. @_@ People never cease to be amazing in all different ways, and this is one of those ways. I was laughing and shouting out where most of that was and what most of it was, including the Sydney Opera House. xp
@Zen: We had some budget woes during this last legislative session, which ended in June. Gov. didn't want to raise any taxes, but the Legislature got some little things raised to get enough revenue so we wouldn't have to ruin some things, like public colleges/universities in this state. xp It really looked (to some of us, anyway) like our system of higher education was in trouble. There were cuts, but not the ridiculous ones the Gov. wanted. Thank goodness the Leg. can override a veto!

That's how much my tuition is this semester as a whole. ><;; Though, this isn't counting the books and supplies I'd need. One of my books is going to cost $100 alone. Used. XP Just out of curiosity, how much was your tuition before this?

My university debt is probably close to $AUS15-20,000 - and Forever's will be far, far higher than mine (ILU Arts!) Not including the books we had to buy, etc. Buuuut...we have a fabulous thing here called HECS which allows us to pay our debt once, and only once, we start earning over a certain pay threshold each year. If we never earn that much, we never have to pay our debt off. If we become, say, an American citizen, the debt is void. If we die, the debt is void. We can also choose to either pay it in one lump sum when we start working or to pay it off in installments. There is no interest on it, either. This is why I love Australia.

XP Just out of curiosity, how much was your tuition before this? Wow. The tuition at the community college I'm at doesn't seem to have gone up that much, if at all. The fees according to the class schedule match what I have to pay when it's added up (total $262 for a 4-credit class). I'm at a community college, just to explain the price. Have the textbook from a previous class. This is lucky because in this family of 4, 2 are retired, 1 is unemployed, and the last has never had a job. And the curiosity is seconded.

I'm also at a community college as well. I'm only taking two classes this semester, thus why only around $338. Though, we do have a flat $150 fee for every semester, then there's the cost of the classes themselves plus the books and supplies as a separate fee.

Actually, mine is around $381. $130 general fee, $20 lab fee, and $231 tuition. ><;; Though, most likely, I'll always have some kind of lab fee considering the degree I'm leaning towards.

used to be 3k in tuition, 3k in housing costs during my first semester
now it's almost 5k in tuition, almost 6k in housing. (in a span of 3 years, in 5 years the tuition rate nearly tripled from what it was.)
I can work off maybe 2k in my housing cost if I have multiple jobs at the dorm. This means no student council emo emo emo I wanted to be vice president.......
next semester I wanna be an RA since they get free rent.... emo
