Zen was being figurative, but it was an interesting topic. "She was something like that." He smiled, wondering if another goddess he knew was near. He probably ought not be talking about his wife if it was Angela.

Angela paused when she felt a familiar twinge in her mind. She shook off the feeling. There were just too many people here. Even though she had far better control of her abilities thanks to Siraen's help, her empathy still gave her trouble around so many people. It was something even he'd never been able to get fully under control.

Perhaps she should try to find a quieter place, she decided. Nodding politely to several people who were looking her way, she tried to make her way toward the fringes of the crowd and away from most of the people so she could collect her thoughts and locate the source of that twinge.

"Truly? She must be a powerful woman then. You are lucky to have found one such as herself," Riddic complimented, smiling slightly. He fiddled with his hands slightly, unsure of what else he could say to this stranger. Here he was, talking to this man, without even knowing his name. Though, being polite, he didn't wish to prod it out of him. Instead, he attempted to change the subject. "So, what brings you here to Akterion? Assuming you are not from here, of course. Surely, you did not come all this way just to congratulate me?"

As the violinists switched songs, to a more upbeat tempo, more and more dancers took to the floor. Seeing that they were practically standing in in the way, Riddic said to Zen, "It seems we are in the way. If you wish to continue our conversation, we should move away from the dance floor." Without waiting for Zen to follow, Riddic made his way through the crowd and found a spot that had sparsely any people hanging about. He rubbed his temples. He'd forgotten how much crowds gave him headaches.

The moment more people started heading for the dance floor, Angela was very nearly bowled over by an enthusiastic couple.

She knew she was short but she hadn't thought she was so tiny couldn't actually be seen. She heaved an annoyed sigh. "Pardon me," she said sardonically but neither of them heard her due to being entirely focused on one another. She finally managed to get away from all the people and took a deep breath as she distanced her mind from theirs.

Smoothing her hands over her gown, she tried to compose herself as she looked around. She gasped suddenly when she saw a blaze of red hair on a man not far away and the word "Zen" was about to come out when she realized it wasn't him.

She'd missed the introduction of the prince earlier so she didn't immediately recognize him but she had heard others talking about him and realized that's who it must be.

Zen loved crowds, event though he almost tripped a doz en times. "Yes, truely, and I was quite lucky." Zen's smiled faded at the thought, then barely registered his next question.

"I felt like a bit of exploring and adventure, and a ball seemed like a fun outting." He told the truth, while gulping when he saw Angela.

When Zen caught up with him, Riddic turned his full attention back to him. "Truthfully, I think events like these are a waste of money, but it was Father's wish," he said, then saw Zen looking at a white-haired woman. "Do you know her?"

Angela's eyes went slightly wide when she saw the other, far more familiar red head join the prince.

As soon as she saw him, the twinge became far more prevalent in her mind. What was he doing here?! And why did he have to see her when she was dressed in such a ridiculous way?

She bit her lip. It's alright, she told herself. Just act natural. You can't get distracted just because a man you thought you'd never see again has randomly shown up. You're here because of the royal family. Just stay focused.

Besides, acting as if she knew him could be awkward. She had no idea what sort of story he'd told about himself. So instead she smiled innocently at the prince and approached the two of them shyly. And feeling very, very self conscious.

"wow what a surprise!!! It's Angela!" Zen shouted in genuine mock surprise. Now how to make up a story for this...

Zen, if I wasn't wearing a dress and shoes with heels I'd kick you, Angela thought. All her plans of pretending she didn't know him flew out the window. In addition--why was he shouting? People were starting to stare.

She had been going to use a fake name too--something blended in a bit more than Angela and he ruined it. She was glad to see him but he was definitely getting a kick in the shin when they were alone.

As the woman approached them, Riddic took hold of hand gently, using his left hand, while he used his right to sweep a bow to her with a smile. "You sure are lovely tonight," he complimented as he straightened up and took a step back. He quickly found out that her name was Angela, which was easier than trying to acquire the red-head's named (he still didn't know it). "A pleasure to meet with you, Lady Angela. I am Prince Riddic. I hope you enjoy yourself tonight."

"Thank you, your highness," Angela replied calmly. She sank into a curtsy, figuring she looked like a moron. But she couldn't very well shake his hand Earth style. "But surely you flatter me."

The title 'Lady' just weirded her out. That's what her father's servants insisted on calling her now that they no longer thought she was evil. She still hadn't managed to get used to it, which is why she avoided his realm at all costs (or one of the reasons anyway). He usually had to come find her if he needed her for something. She withheld a sigh and flicked her gaze toward Zen, wondering what he was thinking of the current situation.

Oh well, at the very least, she wasn't bored anymore. That was something to be grateful for.

"The evening is turning out to be very interesting," she added, flashing another smile at Riddic.

Zen watched Angela, with an expression that said what he was thinking, "damn, wow she can be classy when she's forced into it."

Zen managed to break that look on his face, "The Prince and I were talking... about violins...!" He said stupidly.

Riddic looked between the two before Zen suddenly reminded him what they were indeed talking about earlier, making him forget all about how the two could know each other. "Oh, yes, right. We were talking about violins, and how I wished to play one. By any chance, do either of you play an instrument?" he asked both of them, a bit curious.

He knew very well that white hair wasn't a natural hair color to humans, so Riddic immediately assumed that Angela wasn't one. Then again, there were plenty of non-human guests that night, some of which also adorned such a hair color.

((Just to let you know, Angela, Riddic's bad hand is his left one. It's stiff and doesn't get much movement, maybe a little bending at the joints, but he's unable to make a fist. So, he just took her hand in that last post with his stiff hand. XP I forgot to point that out earlier, but I don't think I was fully awake at the time. ^^;; ))

((I don't know if she would have noticed anyway, being somewhat freaked out by not just seeing Zen but his less that subtle announcement that they know each other.)) ^_^

"I play the piano a bit," Angela replied with a smile. "I've always wanted to learn the violin as well. It seems like it would be rather difficult though. I fear I'm more talented with my voice than I am at actually playing an instrument."

She gave Zen a slight smirk as she spoke to Riddic. He seemed rather astonished to see her--or maybe he was just shocked to see that she could actually dress and act like a girl when she wanted given that he'd never actually seen her dressed in such a way. Not to mention he was probably used to seeing her yell and hit things rather than making polite small talk at a fancy party.

Hmph. Well you don't know everything about me yet Zen
, she thought smugly.

"....I can't play a lick, I sing though......" Zen realized nervously that Riddic was wondering how he knew Angela, and looking at her hair.
"I like to sing.... ugh.. with Angela!" He grabbed her, and put an arm tight around her, "I am a lucky man indeed, it turns out my wife must've found her way here on her own!"
Zen laughed to cover up the awkwardness, and realization that if Angela didn't kill him later, he would die of embarrassment
