My guitar tastes change month to month. So to say I want the one guitar and none other is just not good in my book.
Plus, I haven't really seen too many guitars that are a must-buy for me.
BUT... I could do a guitar of the month thing.
xp
So yeah, I'm really into the Fender Big-Block series right now.

Xenin Gibson not for metal? tell that to Hetfield and Hammet ( who have both used Lps), and to Zack wylde, not to mention many others who play gibsons...
Eh, depends on what kind of metal you are into. And just in personal taste of guitars, Gibson just don't look right to me xp Not a big fan of Les Pauls. (Shock horror! eek Yes, I did just say that.)

Gibson neck joints are pissing a lot of people off these days... Anyway, I wouldn't mind owning this Ric 650 Atlantis. Refreshingly, these p/us are hums. Another useful mod to this type of guitar would be to shave down the neck heel until it's flush with the body.

+1 to that guitar's playability.
Cutaways help you reach higher frets, but damn, I could probably comfortable play that 24th fret on the low E string on that guitar!

With that setup, this 650 would probably sound a lot meaner than the average Rickenbacker.

I can't stand the Ric look, personally. But I suppose that'll probably change soon (I used to hate all the Fender looks, too!). As for the Gibson neck joints - come on, its better than the 3-inch thick blocky-a** Fender neck joint wink . I don't like LPs either, I'd probably have to go for the '61 Reissue SG or the Angus Young model.

I have to say A Gibson Xplorer
-White -Floyd Rose -Black Hardware -stock pickup in the bridge and a EMG 81 on the neck -2 volume, 1 tone -custom graphic on the fingerboard
and thats pretty much it
or Kirk Hammett's Spider
