They exit onto the dirty cobblestone streets and Manda looks at Durem with new eyes: she had never before realized how bleak and colorless it is until being at the beach house. She doesn't dally long and quickly makes her way through the tall gothic buildings to a more run down cluster of apartments, entering one in the middle.
She makes her way up the dimly lit stairs, using her other hand to shield Po'ele incase someone should see and take interest in the little egg. They reach the fourth floor with no incidents and she quickly unlocks her door and immediately deadbolts it upon entering the dark apartment, breathing a small sigh of relief.

Now that the door is bolted, she clicks on the lights, illuminating what most would consider a sad excuse of an apartment. Surely Mara wouldn't approve of such an existence, she laughed to herself. Inside the walls are unfinished cement, the carpeting black and the furnishings, well, most would have a hard time calling them furnishings. Other then the bed, every thing was made of crates or looked like garage sale finds. There wasn't even a TV to speak of or other electronic equipment.
There was, however, a rickety old book shelving unit and while it was sparsely populated, what was in there would seem contradictory to the type of person Manda seems to be. Chemistry periodicals, beat up old college texts and thick blank books that she used to write down theories and balance equations. Yes, in her free time Manda was a bit of a science geek.
It was an unfulfilled dream to be a lab rat somewhere doing experiments all day and working on research. The whole not getting past middle school thing put a bit of a damper on those dreams, but it didn't stop her from nicking a textbook here or there so she could vicariously live her fantasy life. She even had a beat up lab coat she had found once and liked to wear on her days off as she read. It made it feel more authentic.
She gives a glance around, making a mental checklist of what all she needs. "Well, Po'ele, better pack up my stuff so we can leave this place! The sooner, the better right?" She sets the egg down on top of the bookcase and goes to pack her things.
The egg has started to doze again, finding nothing of interest to keep her awake. Her sleepy eyes survey the tiny living space which is no bigger the the hut they will share. Everything is gray, blah and boring. Except...an indigo box that is on Manda's bed and seems to be exuding a strange energy. Po'ele stares at it, trying to decipher its meaning.
Manda has packed her meager belongings into the bag and has plenty of spare room after she's done. "Well, I can't take my bed, but I can sure take the bedding. I paid decent money for that...." She stops mid-turn, noticing the curious box nested in the center of her bed. She gently picks it up, examing it. "That's odd, I have no idea what this is; it wasn't here this morning." She tries to open it and it's glued shut tight; trying to shake it a little, it doesn't rattle. She shrugs and places it in the bag along with her sheets.
She then turns to the bookcase. "Now, how to get you into my hut without anyone noticing!" She looks to the now full duffle bag, realizing it's no longer an option. "Well then...," she licks her full lips while looking to her kitchenette. "Ah! Paper bag, that works!" It opens with a sharp crack and she loads her journals and magazines in. They barely fit and the bag seems ready to burst at the seams. I hope it holds until we get back.
With that, she sets Po'ele on top of the books in the bag and exits what was her apartment, never once saying goodbye to it. She pushes her keys under the manager's door. It's not like he could come looking for her or anything.
She quickly heads back out to the bus stop in time to catch the second to last bus back to the beach and enjoys an uneventful trip home.

The entire walk back to the Fury house the young woman and egg are silent, deep in thought.
Manda makes it back to her hut and sets the laden duffle bag down. She holds onto the paper bag however, wondering where she's going to place her books that no one will see. She's rather embarrassed about the whole love of science thing. It might make people take her less seriously as the force she can be. I should see if maybe the other huts have one. She nods to herself and heads outside, bag in tow.
She walks outside and to the back of where the huts are, peaking into unoccupied ones. "Damn, no bookshelves...hmmm. Oh? what is this?"
She notices a path heading into the lush forest and decides to explore it.
((From here to the lab post I will go I think. Ready when you guys are. ))

(( Because of changes going on right now, going to RP as if the lab never happened and Manda crashed in her room right after her return))
After a very long sleep, Manda slowly came to in her hammock still cradling the egg. She was confused about where she was until the previous events came back to her as she glanced at the paper sack holding her books and science periodicals. Judging from how she felt, the young woman could tell she had slept at least one solid day. Sitting up, she notices something is amiss....
"OMIGOD! She cracked open?!"
Manda's eyes dart around the room looking for where the rest of her ward is: all she's holding is an empty shell. Panicing, she runs outside in her tank top and panties, wondering how she'll ever find Po'ele now that she has no idea what she looks like.
