Settled down on the ground, he let the last spurts of giggles leave him before he shook himself and regained his composure. The lingering effects of a tight hug raced through him, and he smiled up at Confusion, unable to really hate her for being messy with him. She was a ball of energy that seemed all over the place without any focus or direction aside from whatever she felt tugged her interests. Khuluma on the other hand was organized, direct, and composed most of the time. A peculiar thing in a cub that should be wild and rambunctious, but being wild and unfocused wasn’t in him by nature. This had to be pressed out of him. Luckily for him, many of the creatures he met along the way pushed him more and more to forget about impressing others and instead just going with what made him happiest. Still, Khuluma would always be someone to take into account those around him in hopes of impressing them. As of right now, the cub-like qualities he did show was open curiosity and the dire need for attention.
“I’lll have to remember that. I can’t say I had a bad today now after meeting you, Rokopelli.” He also noticed she was speaking together and not having a separate conversation. He wondered what dictated when she split her words and when she combined them together. Did both sides of her both agree on this and spoke at once, or did she have to be distracted instead and not fight with herself? More interesting, why did she speak that way.
Wiping his eye of a happy tear, he breathed out, before noticing his muddy paw. The muddy water on Rokopelli had gotten on him during the hug. “Oh Rokopelli. You shouldn’t take baths in muddy water. You ruin your pretty features that way. Don’t you know you take baths in clean water? ”

Rokopelli liked fun. She was spontaneous, somewhat or an irritant at times, but generally good-hearted and kind. The fact that she tended to confuse people was a downside, but every now and then - like on this occassion - she'd come across someone who didn't seem to mind her mindless chatter and self-contained arguments. If they'd asked her about the other voice in her head, the other side of her personality, she wouldn't have been able to explain it. Even thinking about having two voices in one body confused her. It was just the way it was and probably how it always would be.
But yes, when she spoke in one voice, generally it meant both parts of her agreed, either that or Pelli - the current dominant persona - was not allowing Roko to have her say.
But, now, in this cheery and easy going atmosphere, it was clear that both personalities were in harmony - a rare thing which probably wouldn't last very long.
"Really?" She chirped, glad she had been able to brighten someone's day instead of spoil it.
"Clean water? Dirty water?" She cast a look at the pool she had bathed in. "Can't be choosy when we're hot! We just find first water and dive in." She grinned. "Else we might be searching for a long, loooong time and then get...fuzzy-headed and not make any sense!" Yes...because that would really make a distance.
"Khuluma, you're travelling now, right? Like...all over?"

Not being familiar with the desert, he didn’t know that water was water in this area, and you had to make due with what you got. After a while, he would find himself in a similar situation and get his paws messy, but now he had the luxury to not know any better. As of right now, he was dotting the Sahara, and only just arrived on the edges of the desert. He felt he wouldn’t go far into it as it was unbearably hot, the hot air made it hard to fly, and he grew terribly cold during the night. He wouldn’t freeze as he was immortal, but he still felt the merciless chill that seeped through his bones at night. The desert was not his favorite place to be.
“I guess. ” His eyes traveled to the murky water, and he wondered if he’s willingly dive into it if he knew there wouldn’t be water for a long time. Right now, he felt he would rather wait.
Turning back to the lioness, he smiled. “ Yes. I’m traveling all around. I like talking, and moving means I’ll find others. I really like finding out where all the gods and goddesses are and what they are doing. Maybe even find someone who looks like me.” Of course he still hoped someone would remember him or be a member of his family. Even news that someone saw someone that resembled him would be cherished by the cub.

She smiled, seeming to realise that he wasn't won over by the idea of taking a dip in murky waters. Oh well, she figured that maybe one day he'd be so hot and tired that he wouldn't care and dive straight in. She hoped he'd think of her and laugh. It brought a smile to her face just imagining it.
"Looks like you? Like...family? Like Mummy and Daddy?" She blinked and shrank back a little. Perhaps the boy was better off not finding blood relatives. In her experience, those she had adopted were far kinder and far dearer to her than her real mother had been. And heck, she hadn't even known her father! She got certain aspects from him. Her wings, for instance, were from her father, her powers, too, were derived from her father. But she did not know this. She knew nothing but the fact that he was not there. Mother had been there but then Mother had been mean.
She shivered and pushed the thought away.
"It's okay." Roko comforted her other half.
The Goddess flattened her ears in response. "No it isn't."
"We not alone anymore..."
She shook herself and plastered a smile back on. "We'd like to meet again, with you. We have this thing we do. A power. Like...we can touch your mind and talk to you with thoughts. Tele---tele-kah-nee-sis!" She chirped. "Then we knowses if you're near and come say hello!"

The goddess had been dead on in her assumption, and Khuluma hunched, his head low and expression more shy than anything else. He gave a curt nod. To him, it felt silly for a cub to be finding their parents, but the situation was silly to him. Maybe it was even silly to be looking. A cub on his own either had no parents, had parents who forgot about him, or had parents who didn’t want him. Still, he hoped, and he would like a direct answer as to why he woke up without anyone to guide him as a god and as a cub. It would have been there duty to teach him and now he was alone without anyone to learn from. It was why he learned from everyone else and each person he met, he took a bit more knowledge.
Looking up, he saw that Rokopelli also wasn’t thrilled by the thought, but no doubt for other reasons. She didn’t like talking about her real family, but only her adopted mother, Koya. Something happened to her with her real family, and it hadn’t been good. What could a parent do to their child for them to not want to mention them? It was all foreign to him.
It also seemed she didn’t like being alone. Khuluma could understand. He understood very well the concept of being alone.
When she perked back up, he lifted his ears to listen. Touching his mind? What a peculiar power to have. Still it seemed like calling ou to someone in their head. He wasn’t sure about it, but he did like the idea of meeting up with the goddess in the future. “I”d like to see you again, Rokopelli. I like company. I’m glad I would be invited anywhere. I don’t like to be alone either.”

Being alone was, in a sense, Rokopelli's worst nightmare. Having spent many, countless years trapped in a spell, not able to move, nor speak nor have any contact with anything or anyone, the very thought of being alone terrified her. She liked to surround herself with her adopted family and friends. She liked to wake up knowing that somewhere close by a friend slept, watching out for her in case her Mother did come back and she wasn't strong enough to fend her off.
She smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "It doesn't hurtses, we promise! We just...well, like to get permission first. If Pelli doesn't then Roko gets mad and we don't want to sit through another lecture!" She made a great effort of rolling her eyes and sighing.
"Okay, hang on just a second."
She closed her eyes and focused, reaching out with her thoughts as if her mind were like an arm, an extension of her body. She felt the colours of his mine - and it always amazed her how every living thing held different colours and patterns, making them so distinct.
Then, when she believed the connection was made, she thought to him.
~Can you hear me?~

While it was still confusing to think someone could argue with themselves and have two personalities inside of them, he found himself assuming that Roko was the more sympathetic and concerns side of Rokopelli, while Pelli seemed more excitable, but assuring to comply to her other side. At least both sides were looking out for him, and it felt like he had the company of two goddesses instead of one.
Waiting, he soon hear a voice inside his head that wasn’t his own or fabricated by him. Ears up and eyes bright, he listened. “I can hear you!” His voice rang out to Rokopelli, but his eyes were not focused on her as he paid attention to what was being said in his mind.
Oh, but maybe he should be doing this telepathically.
Um…Can you hear me in my head? Since she was in there, did that mean she could hear him back?

He could hear her! It worked! Brilliant! The smile lit up her face, twinkled in her purple and orange eyes and she moved closer, nodding a little. She could hear him too, his little voice clear in her head as if he had spoken those words.
She gave a little purr and nodded again.
~We can. Loud and clear!~
She drew back a little then and opened her wings - rainbow pinions that flared brilliantly in the sun. Then, she spoke aloud. "We'd best get back to the mortals. They'll be missing us. They'll be mad. But...we'll meet again, okay Khuluma? And next time we won't be muddy so you won't be so mad with the hugs!" She grinned and the snakes at her ankles swayed a little, darting their golden heads from side to side.
"You be careful, okay? And stay away from that Dark One! He's mean!" She stepped back, sad to be leaving, but knowing that she had responsibilities now. She was still young in mind and heart, which made responsibility difficult, but she had to face up to it. She had a mistake to fix.
"Goodbye!" And with that she launched herself, flapping her multi-coloured wings to gain altitude and swing in a wide arch, heading back the way she had come.
~See you soon!~
And with that, she was gone.
