The trees whispered slightly in the breeze and the cricket continued their song. Cristian stared up at the elaborate gate, and the ivy grown wall to either side of it. Cristian turned back to the girl, who said she was indeed new here also. In the dull-blue moonlight, Cristian could see the her looking at him. She was a little shorter than him, but not much and somewhere around his age. "Names, Cristian Veloce, I just got here" he said confidently, holding out his hand.

((sorry its so short))

A shiver ran down her spine at the mention of that name.Cristian Veloce. She ran that name through her mind, examining it with as much care you would a rare and precious jewel. Upon finding nothing in her memory, she extended her hand in turn and grasped his own. "I'm Loki Lobov--" She looked into the face of her new acquaintance and saw something in his eyes. Something familiar, not unlike his name. Then a flash Of memory hit her. A picture in one of the emails her cousin had sent her from college. Her cousin who had been brutally killed by a vicious creature. She froze in horror as she recognized this boy to be none other than her dead cousin's old room mate. The creature who had attacked left a similar path of destruction as she had. She put two and two together and leaped back with a snarl. "YOU! You are my Cousin's room mate!"

Cristian shook Loki's hand but saw a strange look on her face as she said her name. She suddenly stopped, mid sentence. He saw her looking at him, and he could tell she was deep in thought. There was a long pause, and the wind seemed to pick up slightly. The trees whispers seemed to intensify, as if they were accusing him of something. Suddenly Loki's face protrayed a look of horror, then pure hatred. She then leaped back with a snarl. "You!" she spat in his direction "You were my cousin's room mate!" Cristian felt his heart catch in his throat. This girl was Cristian's roommate's cousin. He began to feel a pang of regret in his gut, the same he had felt when he woke up that rainy day, his roommate and company scattered about the room. "I-" Cristian was at a loss for words. "H-he. It-"

Loki felt the anger building up inside her like a growing volcano. "You killed him didn't you?! No ordinary animal can do that sort of damage!" She was overwhelmed with angry sorrow. Bill had always treated her like a sister, taking her out for treats and to concerts and parties. She remembered the day she was taken to his dorm room to find his body cut to ribbons and drowned in blood. She knew right away what had killed him but she never thought that in a million years she would confront the monster who committed that horrible slaughter. Yet he was standing in front of her, in the bright pale moonlight. She clenched her fists, raised them and spat, "Defend yourself." Her chest heaved in furious anticipation.

Cristian saw the anger and sadness on Loki's face. He took a step back as she raised her fists. "I dont want to fight!" he said taking another step back. "Bill was a grade-A a** hole, but he didn't deserve to die. He-he and some of his buddies got drunk...and-and they said some things. Something happened and I woke up in the morning and-ad he and his buddies were dead. I-I didnt mean to, I dont even remember it happening!" He raised his hands to defend himself from Loki's impending attack.

Cristian's attempt of justification made her angrier. How can he be acting like the victim?! It's not like he ever got his throat ripped out by a psycho roommate. Even worse, he called her cousin an A-hole! The same guy who had come to visit her on his Christmas break to take her out to lunch and made his family famous strawberry jello casserole and told such wonderful and side-splitting stories. By the time he was done giving his excuses and raised his arms in defense, the only color Loki saw was RED .She lunged at the boy, moonlight bathing him in pale luminescence, her hazel eyes set ablaze in anger and an uncontrollable blood-lust. The only thought was of revenge.

Fraya sighed, the sound drowned out by the rumble of her slightly faded, green '70 Stingray as it flew down the abandoned, woods-cutting highway. She had been driving down this road for eight hours straight, not long, she had driven farther. The wind was seeping through a back window that hadn't shut right in years, emitting a whistling noise and blowing her long, orange bangs around. The radio was playing at a low volume, the loud music having made her drowsy about four hours ago. Listening closely, you could hear Bon Jovi singing 'Runaway', a fact of irony that had made Fraya laugh out loud when it had first began playing. Dropping a hand from the steering wheel, she held on with the other one and lifted her left knee to help keep the wheel steady. Leaning over to her right, she balled up one pale fist and hit the glovebox, the old plastic door falling open with a bang. Riffling around for a moment, looking half at the raod, half at the compartment, Fraya found what she was looking for and threw the small, folded up pieces of parchment and threw them on the leather seat of the passenger side. Balling up a fist again, she slammed the glovebox shut again. Picking up the papers again, she put them up against the steering wheel, unfolding them while still watching the road. Glancing at the top sheet, an old looking map, she groaned and threw the parchment back to the seat. Ugh. How long is this going to take? The place is supposed to be -huge-! But how am I supposed to -see- said humongous campus if the place is surrounded in these woods? Maybe I should--- Go figure. She made a frustrated noise as an immense brick wall made itself visible around a tree a couple hundred feet away. Slamming down on the gas pedal, her old, loved car rumbled even faster as it accelerated to hit 85mph in all of her anticipation. Yanking her wheel left to screech to a stop, her car brakes forcing Fraya to be thrown forward in her seat, her waist-length braids flying forward. Sitting there with both hands clenching the wheel, she stared forward, gazing at the large gates as if the secret of life itself was written on it's metal spires. As she sat there, the moon moving in the sky before she finally looked away. I... I did it. I just can't believe I have finally run from that torture chamber, after all those years... No more Holda... No more Father... I can be -me- here... She paused in her little reverie and took her foot off of the break and started forward a bit closer to the gate. Okay. Snap out of it. Find a way in... I have an idea... She smiled and shifted the stick to park and climbed out of the car, not shutting the door as she went around to the trunk. Slamming a fist down on the trunk door, the top popped open and she opened it wider. Inside rested an old wooden crate, closed and the contents not visible to the world. Along-side the box was an old black messenger bag with neon orange ribbing around the edges, her 'just-in-case bag', kept for moments such as this one. Taking the bag out, she slammed the trunk down again and went to the front seat to throw her bag into the passenger seat and walk towards the gate. Reaching to the gate, one side swung open at her touch. Pausing, she decided it was just easily opened, and shrugged to turn to her car. Getting in, she closed the door and drove cautiously through the gate and down the long drive till she heard what sounded like a dog fight in the woods around her, making her very uneasy. Braking, she looked around, currently parked in front of the large school. No. Castle... She sat there, staring up at the large structure, not moving from her car.

Cristian brought his arms up to protect his tan face. He shouted in surprise, his voice cracking in fear as Loki lunged at him, her face a distorted mask of anger and hatred in the blue moonlight. He sidestepped, and grabbed the girls arm, then shoved her away from him, sending her towards the trees. The wind had picked back up, and his sandy blond hair flapped wildly around his face. He turned away, towards the large gate. He didn't know this girl, and did not wish to fight with her but if need be he would defend himself. He turned back, preparing for he next attack.

Loki snarled fiercely when her attack was redirected to the trees. She stumbled to a stop just before she was to hit a tree and she slowly turned to face her cousin's murderer in a glare that would melt ice then re-freeze it. She felt every last nerve ending pop and the world blurred in a swirl of pulsing colors. Instinct kicked in and her body began to morph. The wind picked up and fur covered ears flapped as they pointed in their prey's direction. Loki's lips curled back in a snarl that dripped with anticipation. Her white teeth flashed brightly in the cold lunar glow beaming down from the heavens. Her paws gripped and un-gripped the dirt, black claws leaving behind shallow scars on the earth. Head low and hackles bristling, tail raised and teeth barred, black fur shimmering blue in the moonlight save a pale diamond of white on her forehead, Loki tensed her muscles and lifted her head in a hunters howl.

NPC Professor Victor Feldspar~

Victor heard the rumble in the forest from his office and sighed. Sometimes I wonder about the kids you train Alistair, he thought to himself. His office was dark, only a single candle burned at the edge of his mahogany worktable. He stood, clothed in a dark brown suit, a white button down over his slacks. He shed his coat and shirt as he walked toward the window. He was several stories up, the misty green of the grass below paled under the moonlight. He leapt from the stone window, his hair fluttered behind him as he fell earthwards. His bones shifted and rearranged as he concentrated on the form he wished to achieve. Half-morph. His now gleaming eyes flew open a moment before he hit the ground. His huge feet landed heavily on the soft earth. His face was that of a wolf, and he stood even taller than his 6 foot height, a tail grew from behind him and sharp prehensile claws sprouted from his fingers and toes. He turned toward the sounds echoing in his sensitive ears. A fight. His left ear swiveled backwards to absorb a sound from the other direction. It was the slow click and deep hum of a cooling vehicle. They can wait. The newly morphed Feldspar took off on all fours, devouring the ground beneath him as he raced toward the fight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Victor's half-wolf feet skidded to a halt just as the female in the fight morphed, a long howl emanating from her throat. Victor's temper flared. Insolent Pups He snarled and lunged at the female. In his half-morph, he was still able to speak, unlike the fully morphed female. Victor was a heavy wolf, and picked up the pup in a lightening fast movement, holding her in the air by the scruff of her neck. "STAND DOWN!" he snarled. He turned to the boy in the clearing, "And you! Get your a** through the front gate and to the Forum. The two of you are off to a great start aren't you?" Victor was furious. These kids were way out of line, it was this kind of lack of self-control that led to the first round of Hunts. He dropped the female to the ground, her black fur rippling. "As for you. Quiet your mind as best you can." Victor sat upon the ground, crosslegged, with his hands on his thighs. "Breathe" he commanded. He turned his back once more, addressing the boy, "Pick up the student by the entrance, they'll be in a car. Take the car inside the gates and park it to the side." He flipped his head at the student, "Get goin'." He turned his attention back to the femme. It was turning into a very long night.
As Loki was about to rush her human target when a dark blur intercepted her and a sudden force lifted her from the skin and fur of her neck. Surprised, Loki thrashed about in the large male's firm grasp until she tired. When she stopped struggling, the large male dropped her and she landed on the the ground with a thump. She regained her footing and bristled her hackles at this new threat. All of her thrashing had taken its toll on her though. She was exhausted. She looked away from the large male briefly, to find out what had happened to her prey. He was standing by the gate, and the large male shouted something at him. In her present state, though, she couldn't understand what was being said. When the large male in front of her sat down, she saw it as an opening to attack, but something told her that it was a bad idea. He was no longer hostile towards her and this confused her. A sudden pain shot through her skull and she collapsed to the ground. Through squinted eyes, she saw the dark, blurry figure in front of her and behind him was the murderer of her beloved cousin. She clawed at the earth before her with a snarl. Loki felt a fire within her and the crack of her bones shifting. "Breathe" said a soothing, but firm voice. She took a deep breath and her vision darkened. The world spun and she knew no more.
~You ask me why I'm reckless.....
Asp heard the first return howl and smiled. There were others! She was going to see another like her! Her heart sped up in her chest and she quickened her pace. Not long after, though, another howl rang out. This one was different, full of malice and pain, only to be cut off abruptly. A flare of excitement and worry lit in her gut. She started running.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When she arrived at the imposing gate, she stopped. A dark green car sat parked in front of it, the engine still cooling. A young fair-haired boy was advancing from the thick woods, and she could just make out the silhouette of someone seated in the car. Asp's heart skipped a few beats. These.....These are like me.... She walked toward the car and called out to the boy, waving her hand above her head. "Hey!" The boy looked troubled, even....scared. She steeled her nerves and called again, louder this time, "HEY!".
....And I'll respond with "Why aren't you?"~
Cristian's heart was pounding in his chest, even after the other wolf saved him from Loki. He had shouted at Cristian to go to a car at the entrance. After a minute of searching he saw a car, and someone siting within. He stumbled out of the forest, his adrenalin finally dying down and headed for the car. He nearly jumped when a woman called out to him from beyond the car. "Hey!" she said, waving her hand, then repeating herself louder. He looked at her, though in the darkness he couldn't see her features. "Hello!" he shouted back, a hint of shakiness still in his voice. Though he was pretty sure she was a werewolf like them, he wondered if this woman had some horrible vendetta against him like Loki. He walked towards the car and the woman beyond it, terrified he would have to see Loki again soon.
