The song was beautiful and soothing. Her mind had calmed and her eyes had slid closed as she simply listened. When the song ended her eyes fluttered open and she stood slowly as if in a daze. When she realized she had been about to nuzzle a complete stranger, Candy paled and stumbled back. "I have to go, excuse me!" She declared as she wheeled around and galloped away. The sudden emotion had been too much for her, so she ran.

When his song ended he was already opening his mouth to introduce himself. He didn't want to be strangers with this girl any longer.
But she quickly mumbled something and ran off. He stood stunned, with his mouth half open. Why did she run? Did she not like the song?
He wanted to know, so he ran after her. Trying to match her speed so that he could catch up to her, and maybe even pass her, make her stop, and give proper introductions as necessary.

She bolted. She wasn't even sure why she was running. Something about this whole situation frightened her. She ran faster, her adopted brother Akuba was an excellent teacher. He taught her all the ways to dodge and weave to stay just ahead and out of reach of those who were chasing you. She just had to keep an eye out for tree roots and keep running!

Rock bent his head forward, trying to make himself smaller, more areodynamic. Faster. He wanted to catch her, learn her name, learn things she liked, didn't like. He wanted to know her. He didn't want her to be The Girl Who Stole His Heart and Ran Off With It. He wanted 'The Girl' part to be erased and replaced by her real name.
He ran faster, powered by the will to know. He could now see her. A pink spot on the horizon. If only he could run faster, as fast as Selena can. Then he could catch her. He spied a rock on the ground. He galloped over it, but using it as leverage, her tensed his back leg and sprang into the air, landing many yards from where the rock lay. He was closer now.
"Wait! What is you name?!" He yelled as loudly as his voice would allow.

She stopped, she had too. He had asked something and being polite by nature she had to respond. "My name is Candy Heart," she responded with a resigned air of someone who was giving up for the moment. She sighed and asked, "What's your name?"

Rockstar ran up to her, he sighed in relief seeing that she stopped. He was now close enough to clearly hear her response. "Candy hearts, huh? That is an amazing name...it fits you nicely." He said sincerely. "I am Rockstar, nice to meet you dear." He beamed. Happiness buzzed through his veins. "Thanks for stopping,I don't think I would have caught up to you if you hadn't." He said, a bit embarrassed.

"Rockstar? That's very unique, just like you." She beamed, pleased by his compliment. "My adopted brother Akuba taught me how to run like that. I'm sorry, I don't know why I ran. Please forgive me."

Rockstar smiled. It was nice to know that she had others in her herd. His herd only consisted of two, and Rock has NO idea how Selena survived all by her lonesome. But then again...she is a bit of a loner. His mind ran through the topic, forgetting that the pretty mare stood before him. When he returned, he heard her other comment.
"Akuba, huh? Strange name, does it mean anything?" He thought of Selena. She could run SO fast. "The mare in my herd can run really fast as well, its astounding. Her legs are really strong. I doubt even this Akuba could beat her in a race." He was exaggerating. He wanted to impress her.
"Do you have anyone else in your herd? or just you and Akuba? In my herd its just me and Selena, that her name you know, but I also play around with another herd." He rambled on. In most situations he would stop himself, but with Candy, it felt like the right thing to do, not the right thing, but the natural thing...

Candy giggled softly and smiled, "Akuba isn't in my herd and I'm not really sure if his name means anything or not." She paused and thought for a moment, "There are two others aside from me in my herd. There's Zuilian, he's a unicorn and then there's Allan. He's a ground Soquili like us and he's new to the herd. They're both so nice." She beamed at the thought of her herdmates. "What else do you want to know?"

"Well," Rockstar move a little closer to her, but not enough to scare her again. He turned his voice to honey. "I would like to know what your favorite song is. I..." He gazed into her eyes, "I would like to sing it for you. You seemed to like the last one." He smiled sheepishly.

She turned red all over again and nodded, "I did like it, very much." Her voice was soft and gentle, barely above a whisper. This was all new to her after all. How often did random stallions ask to serenade you? She tried to remember a song that she had heard that she liked. "There was one once. I heard another two-legger singing to his mate or maybe she was his intended. He told her later it was called 'I'll Be.' I think that was the name of the song..."
In truth she really couldn't remember the name. All she could remember is that the female seemed quite moved by the song. It had a lovely melody and the words seemed pretty enough. She wondered if Rockstar could possibly know it. She looked at him hopefully, "Have you ever heard of it?"

Rock was stunned. She knew that song? Was it possible...The song, it was beautiful, it sang his feelings well. But there was another song that was screaming inside him, he wondered if he would let her sing it for her...
Rockstar nodded gently at her and opened to sing the song for her.

Candy wondered if he could her how fast her heart was beating. She took a step closer to him as he sang. Mesmerized, she didn't even notice that she continued to move throughout the length of the song until they were almost nose to nose. She came around when the song ended and he asked if he could choose next. Should she let him? Something inside her made her nod yes and say "I'd like it very much if you did Rock."

Rock smiled gently at her. Could she hear or feel how fast his heart was beating? He hoped not. He prayed to the gods that she couldn't. He licked his lips and began his next song.

Candy Heart was officially lost. Here was this complete stranger singing to her for no reason other than to make her smile. She stood staring at him long after the song ended. She had no idea what to do. What should she do? She had never been in this sort of situation before. She started to speak, but her words got stuck in her throat. She didn't know what to say. She wanted to tell him so many things! Why couldn't she get anything out?!
