"So, where is it you're headed?" he asked by way of conversation, his tufted tail swaying casually behind him.

She pondered that a bit, though there really wasn't much pondering to do. "Nowhere, I guess. Any recommendations? " Because she could really use one. Having an objective for once might be pretty nice.

"I'm familiar with that," he said, chuckling. He then paused for a moment, considering her question. "Well, I suppose that depends on the sorts of things you like. There's the sea, or deserts, or mountains. Even a swamp."

Hmm, okay. She's been to the deserts once, didn't seem too appealing to her. Sand, sand, sand. Oh, and the very unfriendly lions that occupied a lot of it. It was both strange and amazing that they managed to survive out there, really.
"The sea? Never been there. " sounded like a good idea, actually. Heard about it, water, as far as you can see...

"Well, then. Maybe that's where you ought to go! Everyone should see it at least once, I think. It's not like anything else you've ever seen. It's that way," he said, indicating the direction with his head. "There are a couple of lion prides there, but they're not particularly territorial - not the way the Firekin are, anyway. You wouldn't be in any danger."

She smiled. "I think I will! " She exclaimed, impulsively hopping to her feet, then remembering its not like she'd be leaving right now. Unlike Al-Ha, Zyanya was a very diurnal feline. "Um.. tomorrow. " She added sheepishly, flopping back onto the rock.

Al-Hattal chuckled good-naturedly. Zyanya was very enthusiastic, wasn't she? He liked that. "Tomorrow is probably best, yes. There are all manner of things that can happen at night. It's much easier to get lost, too."

She nodded. Yes, it was a bit harder to see at night, though the whole being a cat thing did help. Her main reason for not being awake at night was actually because hyenas, leopards and lions had more nocturnal tendencies than cheetah did. Which left the smaller 'large cats' to hunt during the day.
But, besides that... "What kind of things happen at night? " Never really bothered to look, honestly.

"Well, it's a different set of creatures that come out at night," he answered slowly, thinking. "And it's harder to see, of course, so that can add to the danger. It's easier for things to sneak up, you know?"
"Like me!" Al-Hattal laughed. "I blend in very well."

"Oh, really? " She quietly wondered exactly how different the night-time creatures could be from the daytime ones. It's not like she'd never stayed up after sundown before, but she'd never really payed attention. Never bothered to.
"You do! " She smiled, Al-Ha was getting harder to see as it got darker and darker. Not that he would get invisible or anything, but she was finding it a bit harder to notice little things, like if he was smiling or frowning.

"You don't have to worry about snakes so much, though," he added, "Unless you go poking into holes or under things. It gets a little cool for them at night, you see."
Al-Hattal was, in fact, smiling. He had nothing to frown about, at the moment! "You, on the other hand, would be easy to keep track of, with that lovely coat of yours."

"Is it like that just for snakes, or the other scaley ones? " She pondered, it made sense. She often saw snakes or crocodiles or other reptiles bathing in the sun. Maybe they just couldn't stand the idea of not having sunlight!
"I'm kind of a dead give away, aren't I? " She smiled, quietly appreciating the compliment though she didn't comment on it.

"I'm not sure, actually," he answered, scratching idly at his ear. "I've never really gotten to know any, just the one snake." Al-Hattal hadn't been particularly fond of his son's snake, to be honest.
"It has its advantages, though. I'm sure you tolerate the sun much better than I do."

hmm. Maybe she should investigate that sometime. At least she had something to do next time she was born. "I guess I do! " She grinned, she'd had darker-colored friends before, and had often heard them complain about the sun. She also remembered feeling a little smug, since it didn't bother her nearly as much. Save when hunting, that is.
"Lets do something! " She said suddenly, rolling onto her back and pawing up at one of his ears. She should be sleepy by now, but company had made Zyanya rather awake.
