Ferris gave a snort. "Ha, yeah. It shouldn't be worst the next time around. That Hatching, the one yesterday, that was the worst I had ever seen, and I had been standing for three years before yesterday's," she commented, giving a nod with a slightly concerned look on her face. Her expressions always changed quickly, though, and a moment later her nose crinkled a little and dimples showed as she smiled and gave a laugh.
"Best knock on wood for that statement," she laughed, rapping her knuckles on the table. The some-what odd noise made Hwinth look up from her reclined position on the floor, but other than that she didn't do much other than itch her nose on her leg again. And stare at her stomach when it rumbled...
Ferrismine... we should eat soon. It is getting late.
At this, Ferris gave a small start and widened her eyes. She spread her hand flat on the table, ceasing the rapping, and looked down at Hwinth and then at Alanna. "Oh! Faranth! Right... I'm sorry, Hwinth. ...Um, Alanna, I should probably get going. Dragonly duties and all."

Oh dear, Alanna actually had to laugh at bit at the idea, rapping her own knuckles on the table to mimic Ferris -- oh yes, she had to hope that there wouldn't be another idiot to give cause for a LACK of a touching. She didn't want to die from dragonet maulings before she impressed.
... ....
Yeah, that would have been one of those 'worst endings ever' to document in some shape or form. Worst one, not a 'stupid one'. Wouldn't have been her fault.
But of course when Ferris went to excuse herself, Alanna was more than willing to relinquish the company -- she was far from being a clingly individual. "Ah. Of course. I didn't expect you to sit here and converse with me for candlemarks and candlemarks." she said with a wave of the hand and forcing something.. kind of like a smile.
"Go go. I'm sure we may bump into each other later and can chat some more if you're able then."

"Oh, I'm always able to chat, there's no question there." Ferris gave a nod as she rose from her seat on the bench. Hwinth got to her little feet too and stared up at Hers and the other girl. Her stomach rumbled once more, but she kept quiet and didn't remind Ferris again. She knew Hers knew.
As Ferris turned, she gave another smile and another nod. "Nice meeting you -- we'll run into each again. This Weyr is big, but not big enough, really." And with that, she turned and moved towards the exit, waving a hand over her shoulder.
Hwinth lingered a second after Ferris moved off, giving Alanna a small tip of her blotchy head in a little farewell. She was a silent thing, but certainly not above any type of manners.
After that, however, she lingered no more and trotted off after Hers, wings slightly flared and tail swaying from the motion of her body.
