Lady Evelyn Inferno04 Lady Evelyn I know what you mean about the posers. My best friend was one. She was supposed to go to the concert with us. We aren't friends anymore. I couldn't take it. I know music if universal and everyone can listen to what they want and whatever... but she has no right to! She tries to pretend she can relate to HIM and The Used, and AFI and all that. Bull ******** s**t! Sorry for my language. I'm still pretty angry with her. For alot of things. But I know what you mean. I would feel alot better if the new fans I'm meeting were legitimate, you know? Now it's "cool" to like HIM. And heartagrams are everywhere. I think I'm only just now begining to understand it. Before now, if I ran into someone wearing the heartagram, they'd known about the band forever and loved the music and never professed to relate, even though they did. I'm sure most of you know what I mean. Lately... within the last few months... it's all about dark light and "oh.. all my friends like HIM so I do too and I relate cuz life is sooooooo dark and bad.... *angst angst*" I'm actually shocked! I wear the heartagram. I have gloves I got at the concert I went to. And a hat. But now I feel weird wearing them. I still do, but it's different now. Now I feel like one of the masses, another one trying to fit in instead of someone who just loves music. I can't stand it! i get what you mean by weird to wear merchandise, when I go to school next wek, people will probably be calling ME some washed up poser since I'm "goth" and they're the real BAM fans. rolleyes People really need to THINK these days...And on a GOOD note, I got my heartagram shoes today!^^ Finally....All the stores that ahd them had the shoes in HUGE sizes. oh i want those shoes so bad... xp but yes, the lack of thinking these days is scary. eek Sorry that I told you about the shoes then. sweatdrop And these days, I think it's all about looking dead stick thin, a term now for "pretty", and getting money.....Sad. gonk

Valoheart At first I was a little dissapointed bc it seemed a little soft for me but it has really grown on me and I love it!!
But alas, all the stuff you can buy really does freak me out. Although I'm almost positive the actual band has very little to do with it.

I can't **stand** when people are like "Doesn't that HIM band make you depressed?" ... No actually HIM makes me HAPPY when I listen to them. I view each song as a story, as tales Ville is helping me imagine through his music. So it's not all flowers and happiness, life isn't all dandy every second either. I relate to the music, and I enjoy the story. It makes me happy. I don't listen to HIM in the dark 24/7 sobbing about how my life is horrible and hurting myself. I love to listen to HIM in the sunshine, in my car, thinking about how life has been so good to me lately. I don't feel like one of the masses. I know I was a HIM fan before all this "popular" thing happened. And as long as I feel and remain true to myself, I don't have a problem. I know what you mean there. I love to sing along to HIM and dance along and just be stupid and lost in it for a while. That's what I love about the music. It relaxes me and calms me and makes me smile. Though..... I HAVE found that if you're really heartbroken..... HIM doesn't help.... lmao blaugh but then again you tend to choose the WRONG songs for the occasion. My friend had to pull me away from his itunes lol. that was pretty funny. heart

I was definately a little disappointed by Dark Light... but ney, it's still a good album.
Some of the songs do sound like some of their previous... and some aren't as catchy... its certainly not as good as Razorblade Romance or Love Metal.
I'm NOT saying I hate the album either... i do like some of the songs, especially Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly, Killing Loneliness, Under the Rose (<333) and The Cage... but this album doesn't have that spark other albums have had...

I'd like to say something in my own opinion too. Although, the band's new album Dark Light Is different from the rest, so are the other albums. If you listen closely to each one, you will see a big difference. Plus, how can you write Totally depressing music when your engaged to your almost whole life girlfriend? Think about it, he's got to be happier.

Tenshi No Reyire Okay first off. HIM doesn't have 100% control over all their merchandising. They do have to have lives you know. I don't think you should really blame them for heartagrams being everywhere. I think alot of people are just disapointed that their little Finnish band that hardly anyone heard of is now going mainstream, and they don't want HIM to be famous. Hey, I'm in the same boat. I don't want HIM to be famous like alot of other bands. I can't afford eighty dollar tickets to their concerts. But it doesn't mean I'm going to stop liking HIM. And as for Dark Light, if you get mad they didn't make a " perfect" breathtaking/whatever album compared to their other albums, and you think they're all about image and whatever, that's a tiny bit unfair. You know bands want to make it big in America. That's usually their goal. But sometimes I think alot of HIM fans just want HIM to be their little secret, but it doesn't work that way. As for the stupid Bam fans, deal with it. I'm a proud Bam fan. I don't like the word "Bamtard" or people just going "oh those Bam fans" and then when I get mad, I hear "Oh I'm a Bam fan too!" Well, make that a TINY bit more clear next time, okay? I happen to like Dark Light. I happen to like everything that HIM's ever done. And yes, I happen to think Ville is a very gorgeous man. (Seeing as how I've seen HIM live in concert twice and my best friend met him, I can say that he is very gorgeous in person.) Okay I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I understand you guys have your own opinions, I just hate to see HIM fans get mad over things like this! Hey, we're suppose to love/support our band. One not-perfect album and everyone's ready to boycott. Yeah, every band has poser fans. We have to deal and educate people! Love you guys. I agree, I don't want HIM to become some famous band that everybody likes... Then we'd see the heartagram everywhere, and hear the music everywhere, and then we'd here, "oh ville is so hot" everywhere. whee Then we would all be put into a steryotype of crazed fans.... I probably don't make any sense... But I like having HIM the way they are (at least in our town) a few people have heard of them and they like them and don't give them any bad labels... ((yet they still won't give a concert in the hick state of arkansas)) biggrin

I agree that Dark Light was very good, but not anywhere near as good as some of their earlier works.
