So far I think Vicinity of Obscenity is about sex. (Banana = p***s, Terracotta Pie = v****a) - And "Is that a perfect way of holding your baby?" - yeah. Many sexual inuendo's. I love it, though.

Anyway heres what I think of U-Fig. Personally I belive it's about the war, kind of Hypntoizes version of BYOB.

Melt in the sun
Melt in the sun
Who wants to come with me and melt in the sun?

Kind of like "Who wants to join the war?", energetic and upbeat, but yet they use "melt in the sun" kind of a symbolic of dying for a pointless cause.

Hide in the sky
Hide in the sky
Who wants to come with me and hide in the sky?

Reference to plain-bombers? (Hiding in the sky and dropping bombs, you feel important, but truthfully your just "hiding")

You and me
Should go outside and beat 'em beat 'em beat 'em, beat 'em beat 'em beat 'em

Pretty obvious, killing Iraqis.

All pathetic flag waving ignorant geeks
And we'll eat 'em eat 'em eat 'em eat 'em eat 'em eat 'em

Sort of a response to the former? Well it's obviously about people who blindly wave the flag, saying how were the best, and how were saving them when they have no idea what the truth is.

Come join the cause
Come join the cause
Who wants to come with me and come join the cause?

Refrence how they make it sound "so moral" and how they seduce people to go into this war. "It's a great cause, everyones doing it" etc.

Hope I'm right lol

I don't think they would think of attacking Iraq, unless it's like Cigaro and they're saying this in other people's place. I'm pretty sure that's what you meant, though.

Quote:

Refrence how they make it sound "so moral" and how they seduce people to go into this war. "It's a great cause, everyones doing it" etc.

That is very well-thought. Yeeeees. surprised heart I like it.

Awesome analysis.

welll...Vicinity of Obsenity is definetly about j!zzing. sorry, but its true. banana banana banana teracotta banana teracotta teracotta pie. and then the whore part in the song. idk, maybe i am wrong.

Nonono, Vicinity of Obsenity isn't about sex, its a bout what you just said.

To clarify:

The song never accually says anything about sex, but implies it again and again. Implications can only be seen if you are partially expecting them.

The giveaway is the line "Vicinity of Obsenity in your eyes"

Vicinity is a general area. He's talking about how people have an "Area of Obsenity" in their eyes. Like a filter. You see something and translate it into something sexual.

The point is, people translate simple, mundain phrases and objects as sexual innuendo, regardless of whether or not it is. He's ranting about the fact that that is running so rampant in society these days.

If you say banana in public, most people will picture a p***s before an accual banana, and that's bad.

I think Dreaming might be about how some reporters or tourists (specificly American) go to those Middle-Eastern countries and get killed... Like Iraq for example, they get captured by terrorists and killed or taken as hostages.

"For today we will take the body parts and put them on the wall"

I think this is a metaphore for, making a threat to, or making an example of someone.

"For treated indigenously, digenously Human right is private blue chip pry"

I believe the word indigenous is a synonym for the word alive... So treating something dead as though it were alive. Perhaps this could be reference to how their beheadings are videotapped?

"We're the prophetic generation of bottled water, bottled water
Causing poor populations to die, to die, to die"

I think this line is mentioning how the Americans ample supplies and resources (bottled water) and by not sharing it it's causing a poor county's population to die.

"You, you went beyond and you lost it all Why did you go there From
beyond you saw it all why did you"

Again, someone has gone away to a dangerous country and got captured and killed

"We lost consumer confidence in casual karma, casual karma
Confetti, camouflage, camouflage, the flage, the flage"

Camoufalge... Meaning a military? I can't make sense of this line.

"She lost her head, When they called and they said that they thought he was dead"

I thought this line was the give-away for the meaning of the song.

"Dreaming of screaming
Someone kick me out of my mind
I hate these thoughts I can't deny"

I get the feeling that someone is guilty of letting this certain person in the song (she) go to a hostile country because they were caputred and killed.

You know... That was so beautiful. Dreaming is beautiful. And so is your interpretation. Wow. I really love your point of view. I agree with you, it makes a lot of sense.

Sounds to me like your stretching it way too much. Though I have yet to take the time to develope a theory about this one, that just doens't sound right.

It's really a matter of opinion. That's part of what makes System so great. So many possible interpretations.
