I wish I knew more, but I am still learning. The kanji is confusing most of the time, but I guess that is with everyone smile

Hayash1 I've just started learning japanese, I decided to start learning the hiragana alphabet, I'm still on な に ぬ ね の as of today, I hope to learn past わ を ん by the end of this week. I know how to count to 100 but I'm quite confused about the number 7. One of the kids at my camp says something like hechi, another says shichi, another says nana. I've googled this and 2 of the mentioned popped up, why are there 2 versions of the number 7?
After all that, I plan on learning and memorizing how to write the other chart. But from there I`m lost in where to progress. I really don`t have a formal teacher. Any help is appreciated!
ありがと! nana is the old word for 7, now it is hachi. ( しち )

Wah, I still don't know if you need this answered gonk There are two variations because it depends on where you use the number, same with 4 (yon and shi)

Has anyone ever heard of the JET program? I'm totally applying after getting my bachelor's degree. My Uncle lives in Japan and married a woman there, also I learn a little Japanese in Karate and...sigh...watching anime. Whatever works right? I really want to learn to speak it more than reading and writing. I'm hoping that will follow after the spoken language. A link for the JET(Japan Exchange and Teaching) program: http://www.jetprogramme.org/

I have to agree with you on that part. Learn on Japanese Academy guild and plus watch anime. then Japanese drama. either one works for me.
