He hmmed slightly. Rami enjoyed birthing most not matter how much she complained that they left her covered in various liquids. When it came to him being enclosed or in the outdoors it really mattered on what he was doing. Personally 'Rish enjoyed blowing glass just as much as getting the sand.
'Rish ran a hand though his hair, fingers thrumming on his thighs in thought before replying back. "Three reasons, one just as you said. Two, she was coming close to age boundary and was desperate enough to do anything to get an edge. Three, too young, excited, and full enough of herself to follow rules and directions. At least…that all I can think off.” He kept his voice low and even almost musing.
He shook his head, pushing out the thoughts. 'Too much things rotating up in here, really don't need to add a other subject.' “I would like to see them…has anyone thought to talk to them?”

"This is true. She probably made a bet or something simple like that... Of course, I heard she was bragging about it. How silly? Rumors run faster than the beasts do around here! The gold's rider would have heard about it easy." Jessan shook his head in sheer amazement at the girl's courage and stupidity.
Sitting back and looking around, Jessan made sure that they were just random people chatting during the midday meal. When a drudge passed by, he moved back in close. "Talk to who? They eggs or the riders? I heard most of them were pretty upset about it. And who wants to confront an angry gold?"
Shaking his head, Jessan tossed that notion out of his head. "But, we can go and look at them. That can't hurt one bit... I heard the Eggs were amazing in size and color. I just hope it doesn't hurt the little ones inside not being Touched."

"Talk to the eggs. Sort of reassure the little dragonling inside they aren't forgotten and let them get to know their possible riders. Though with an angry gold...not surprising she is angry though. I would be angry to if someone tried to harm my offspring." 'Not that I'm planing on any.' He added silently.
"I'm sure the little ones will be fine...lets go and take a view though." 'Rish grinned. "To tell the truth... I always wanted to be a candidate. If you had a dragon, truthfully what color do you think he or she would be?"

"At the last Touching, everyone pretty much said something or caressed them. I guess it makes them feel better? Not sure." Standing up, Jessan wiped any crumbs or mess from himself. He motioned to Rish and waited for his companion to stand.
"I think a blue or brown maybe? Somehow, I see myself on a blue more so than any other color but if I even managed to Impress I think I might kiss the ground my dragon hatched onto..." Jessan tried not to dwell on it too much. It reminded him of the conversation he had with Allende. "Ready?"

'Rish stood up at Jessan's motion, walking a few steps ahead before doing a snappy turn. "Ready. For myself...I have to say green or blue. A brown would be a surprised...a bronze unlikely cause they like the ladies." He grinned, "Not that I don't...but the men folk have their charms as well."
"Instead of kissing the ground you could attempt to keep the shards of the shell instead." He tossed his head up, looking down his nose, or trying to. They where pretty much the same height. "Much more dignified." He snorted, shaking his head. "But then...what the fun in that?"

"I honestly doubt that I would Impress a bronze. Let's just say I appreciate what both sexes have to offer." Jessan grinned widely at this. He began to make his way through the tables and back towards the cavern hallways. There were so many twists and turns, it was easy to get lost.
After having to clean out several storerooms and closets, Jessan had learned his way around and made mental notes of certain twists and turns. He did not go fast so that Rish could keep up with him. "I can only imagine the looks on the crowd if I did kiss the ground. I will have to remember that one. But keeping the shards would be an idea as well."

"Which is the best, for now everyone is a possiblity. You decided on one gender and it cuts down half the options." 'Rish followed skirting tables careful and doing odd little half dance motions. He would get to see the eggs before the hatcing! Score!
"It would be priceless," he muttered with a slight grin. "Your hatchling might be a bit concern if you fall over and start kissing the ground when you Impress." He sprinted foward, circling Jessan before stopping dead and intoning. "Shards you can probably make into some fancy trinket." Wink. "Trinkets are fun."

"I definitely like keeping my options open. Which is why I try not to think about the dragon colors or ranks." Jessan nodded solemnly before continuing on in he destination. He had figured out that if you acted like you knew where you were going, no one would stop you.
"I guess it all depends on the Hatchling. At some of the previous Impressions, there have been some maulings. Nothing fatal but I wouldn't want to fall face first until after I Impressed. Then I would kiss the ground..." Jessan chuckled lightly. "A trinket, huh? Something to give to someone important."

"Or to show children and grandchildren. Giving it to someone important is also a suggestion. Nothing says I care more then egg shell pieces." 'Rish gave an amused strangle cough sound trying to keep from laughing imaging various outcomes. "Frankly I think they would be surprised and bemused."

They made their way through the winding ways until they were near the Sands. The old volcano was riddled with all sorts on pockets that were here and there. The was an entrance way to the Sands but if you walked past that...
Jessan looked back at Rish with a conspicuous look. "And we are here! Just whisper! Look at them all, so many little ones waiting to be born... I hope this hatching goes smoothly or Cheoth may do something fierce to that girl who touched them early."

'Rish became quiter as they walking the twisting ways, trying to keep track but kept loosing count. Not terribly surprising, he always had problems with directions. He trailed his fingers along the walls.
He rocked on his feet, before ploping down on the floor. Really, why not? It wasn't like they where going to go anywhere quickly. "Hopefully it does." 'Rish looked out at the eggs. "They look good?" He wasn't sure how you could tell the health of eggs but they looked like any other egg he had saw before. Well, just huge.

"I'm not sure? But look at all the colors of the shells. Some are small and some are large..." Jessan whispered quietly. He watched as Cheoth moved her eggs around and settled again. Sliding down and sitting next to Rish, he kept his eyes and ears open.
"So how long are you going to be in Ista? Are you staying on as a Candidate?"

"Not sure about how long I'm going to be in Ista. I'm hoping in a year or two to least be a journeyman in my craft. If the master doesn't kick me out." 'Rish shrugged a shoulder. "I wouldn't mind being a Candidate but never been searched as one."
He tilted his head back, blinking innocently at Jessan. "I thought they where suppose to be like that? Small and large, different color shell..." He tugged a stray curl back with a glare. "I hate my hair."

Jessan rubbed the other man's head with some affection. He then laughed as he attempted to run a hand through his hair. "Mine is so short and curly, it never grows out. Not really. I have to take a thick brush, almost like the one I use on a runner's hide to keep it clean."
He turned back and watched the eggs though they did nothing. Inside, little dragons were growing and soon be Hatching. He would stand, like he always did, and hope. If he didn't Impress... Well, as Allende told him, there was more to Pern besides the great beasts. "Why would you get kicked out?"

'Rish blinked, eyes rolling up at the hand rubbing his hair before chuckling. "My hair does that, if it's shorter then my ears it turns into all these tight curls that are about impossible to brush.” He tapped the second joint on his pinkie finger to give an estimate of length. “My cousin thinks it adorable." He snorted. "I prefer my hair about right here." He motioned his hand a little bit above shoulder.
Rish leaned back on his hands, giving a small tight lip smile. "That is a secret." He wasn't going to bore Jessan with the myriad of things that made him disappear for two day.
