Davenya sighed. She felt she should offer up what David had thought up about why they were the way they were. David had figured the powers that were harbored within Davenya. "Maybe because it's different from what you do. " Davenya shrugged softly till he grunted before she reopened the book and searched the pages looking for what David had written about the stone.
"Aha." She tapped her right finger on one of the pages. "It would appear..." Her words trailed off as she watched the blue flames surrounded them. "That's so cool." Davenya happily looked about the at the flames enthralled.

Glancing from the corner of his eye, Somber's lips lifted in the ghost (no pun intended) of a smile as he looked at Davenya. "S' not meant to be cool. It's a guide." His attempt to sound stern promptly failed - she actually liked his strange powers, and that gave his voice a hint of pride.
The glow surrounding his hands swelled, clinging for a moment to his fingers. Then it exploded, forming the fires that thickened until both of his palms were enshrouded. And from those bright flames, the throwing bones came forth: the knuckle- and finger- and joint-bones spitting out of the fire to hover just on top. Somber stared at them for a moment, tilting his head as he studied their meaning.

Davenya stared at him as the flames exploded. She jumped back startled as the flames covered his palm's It was a queer sight. something that shocked Davenya in to silent awe.
The reflection of the flames seemed to dance across her glasses lens much like the moonlight had earlier before a cloud had passed over. A top Davenya's head her horn still only glowed dimly rather then brightly for while she was excited she was overly shocked which gave off a grey glow. She tilted her head and watched him curious as to what he was doing. She had even forgotten all about David's journal as she stared at the flame's and such. She was much like a child drown to something shiny however she wasn't quite a moth drawn to the flame. She'd learned that fire could be pretty but touching it often hurt her...

"This way..." The Poltergeist looked up, serious gaze listing slightly to the left as he followed the direction the bones pointed in. Farther up the coast, of course: to a small isthmus, reaching out into the night sea.
Somber looked away from his destination for a moment, his eyes drawn to Davenya as she jumped away. He looked confused for a moment. His flames...? Ah! He knew what was wrong.
"They can't burn you." Somber offered. He flicked his wrists, and the bones were swallowed up by the flames and disappeared. His hands separated - the one closest to her drew closer to Davenya. "This fire won't burn anyone. Here... You see?"

Davenya wiggled and giggled at his reading of the bones. It was something more about what he was doing that excited Davenya into a state of shock and awe. She follow his gaze off to the left and wiggled again till she felt him look toward her because she'd jumped away just moments ago.
Davenya stared intently at the pretty flames as they drew closer to her. He was saying they wouldn't hurt. Davenya stood frozen as she watched. The flames were so pretty looking that she wanted to grab them and bottle them up to watch at her own pleasure. Davenya poked at the flame tentatively and squealed happily at not being burned. "Teehee that's so cool. I like's it it's so pretty." She poked at the flame again as she forgot about the game to find the stone that fell from the sky

His mouth twitched, an amused smile turning up the corners. She really was like a moth to a flame. The fires that licked at his hands kind of matched her, now that he looked at them side-by-side: both brilliant blue. They certainly went better with her than with his rustic hues.
"You can't do this?" Somber asked, his eyes on the hand she poked. "I didn't think that it was so unusual. They are the fires that lit the lantern I carried..." He couldn't finish the rest of it. How could explain being... What would you say. Born into death? "I am glad you like them. But we should be going. I'm sure that the stone will glow just the same."

Davenya giggled excitedly before she pondered the glow about her own lantern when she'd been young. [as she thought more her attention was drawn away and she rocked back and forth on her feet. "Well I don't know what happened to it. I just knew one morning i was floating along with my lantern and the next I had pretty black hair and my lantern was missing."
Davenya grinned at the reminder of the stone and then giggled at the thought of it glowing as well as. "Well then lets us go on." With a pep in her step and a hop to her walk she began to bound down the shore to the left in the direction that Somber had looked. "So the stone it'll prolly be like I don't know the size of my fist roughly I believe."

Somber stepped up beside her, his hooves disappearing and reappearing over the sand. He flitted around her, heading in the same direction; but his steps hovered between visible and invisible. As he moved, the ghostling nodded understanding. "I remember it the same. An odd sensation, and then-! No more lantern, and limbs. But I still remember the fire."
The electric blue lights had winked out around his hands. Rust-red mana swept across the sand, and his hair swept likewise through the air. "Size of your hand, huh? Doesn't give us much to look for." The Poltergeist pointed ahead, toward the strip of land that reached out into the sea. That's where the bones had pointed them.

Always shoot for the Moon... Davenya sighed shaking her head softly. "Alas I have no true memory of the flame." Davenya shrugged softly and looked on the land slowly and softly seemed to fade into the sea. "So do we actually have to go out there into the water and stuff to find it?" Davenya spun around a bit be for giggling at her dizziness.
Davenya bounced to a halt and looked at Somber nodding. "Approximately. Simply because most Stones that actually break through the atmosphere end up landing at about that size because they're bigger in space and our atmosphere breaks them down causing most to diminish." She nodded smartly before giggleing again. She'd enjoyed learning about the sky and it's many wonders when she read through Davids journal the first time.

Lysombre blinked - surprised at this bit of knowledge. This was the ghost who had been so mesmerized by his flame just a minute ago? "Er... Right. That makes sense." And it did, kind of. Somber got the feeling that he'd never been the type of guy for book-learning.
A strong gust picked up, whirling after the direction he'd pointed. His body flickered in and out of the shadows; the golden chains on his pants caught moonlight before turning black. "No, I don't think we'll have to go out onto the water." At least, he hoped not. "I'm not fond of swimming... No, I think we'll be fine at that part there. See?"
The barely visible Poltergeist pointed again, to a spur of rock jutting up from the water. There was a strip of land leading from beach to the jagged rocks. It was thin, but it was there.

Always shoot for the Moon... Davenya wiggled and then giggled. She was highly pleased that she was sounding so smart. However her only savior was her brothers journal. The selfish black fey that she had felt so close to before the split had been a scholar of sort. a being who enjoyed knowing the practicalities of things. Everything had a purpose a meaning and everything was practical, precise, and predictable. She had never envied him for it because she felt she had the more fun for it. "Darn no swimming for I." Then she caught sight of his shiny black chains as they caught moonlight and then faded back to black. SHe stared in slight awe at the golden gleam or rather her thought of the golden gleam that had caught her attention before she continued what she had been saying. "Tis a shame you do not have a fondness for swimming. It can be quite fun." Then Davenya shrugged and spun around in the direction of the jagged rock. Let us go to it then. Davenya grinned a wide grin before starting off.
Excitement rolled of Davenya in waves. It settled about her feet where the shadows seemed to dance and gather. A result of her heighten emotions. It would take awhile for her to gain enough control over her emotions or the shadows that lapped at her feet at times much like the flow of the water. Davenya flipped her right pigtail over her shoulder as she glanced back at Somber. "Do you have plans for the rock?" Perhaps she was being to forward or blunt. She didn't think about it though. She had never been one much for processing her thoughts in the case of discretion. She was good in an emotional situation for she was often concerned for the others well being however in pure curiosity she was never too smart. She'd ask the question that came to mind regardless the consequences of her questions. She cared not what he would do just wondered.
...because even if you miss you'll land in the stars.

A smirk twitched Somber's mouth. "Maybe it is." For one of form, that was. But for him? He wasn't little more than smoke and spirit, and he was not fond of seeing what water would do to his not-so-solid body. No no, he would keep his hooves close to land, thanks.
And as for her other question? "I only want to see it. I have no plans; not yet." No, he was out here for curiousity and curiousity alone - he had never seen anything fall out of the sky before. The bright, shining object that he had seen crashing to earth intrigued him, so he had to seek it out. Meeting Davenya on the way had been only a happy accident.
He didn't say anything for a moment, drifting along next to the Fey as they approached the narrow strip of beach. The isthmus jutted out into the water in front of them. "...You can swim if you like, you know." The ghostling smiled wryly. "Don't let me hold you back. Maybe we could make a race out to the summit. You by sea, and me by air. I wonder who would make it first?" He spoke freely, not giving any real weight to his words - even though they were entirely possible, would Davenya wish it.

Davenya grinned at his words. "Well I know storm was said to have avoid deep water. She tended to prefer playing in the rain and such. It was cool how the drops would fall through her at times." Davenya nodded and spun once on her heels as she kept progressing forward. "It has been said that curiosity killed the cat you know." Davenya nodded before spinning toward Somber still grinning. "But I don't think that matters much seeing as were already dead." She giggled softly before turning back and realizing they were already almost there.
Davenya watched intently as the water seemed to battle between being calm and mellow to being rolling and unfriendly. Then Somber began to talk again and this time he mentioned her being able to swim if she wanted to. She wanted to jump in excitement when she thought about him being alone on land. It didn't seem so fun of a notion. Then he offered and alternative to her feeling bad for his alone-ness. "A race? Like a competition. Oh I do so love a fun game. " She nodded bouncing on her heels. "I have a feeling you'd win in the race however. But shall we have at it? The water is always so refreshing you know." She looked over to the water still brimming with even more excitement. "Will the winner get something? Such as a prize of some sort?" She didn't know quite what she could offer in the case that he won but she was sure to think of something.
