Ellandra looked away, rather ashamed of that first truth. "I'm sorry, Faolan," she said quietly, her grip tightening on the bag she held. "I haven't intended to worry you or anything." Then she frowned. "And I'm not letting you make me any fatter than I have to be with the twins," she added, poking him in the shoulder lightly.

"Aye, but I worry on you anyway," Faolan said, shrugging. He gave her a playful grin then. "Not even a little fat, eh?" He proceeded rubbing her belly. "The bairns'll love it if they got more of you to cuddle with, you know."

Ellandra just swatted at him again in response. "Well, since you went to all the trouble of getting this cheesecake, do you want to share it?" she asked after a long moment of silence.

Fao's ears went up a bit. "Do I?" He grinned and reached for the bag. "I think I got them to put an extra fork in there."

Ellandra smiled at his expression and laughed, just a little - perhaps she really was getting cheered up by the cheesecake-gift after all. "Are you sure you didn't buy this all for you?"

Ellandra winced slightly at that. "Have I . . . have I really been that bad, Faolan?" She asked quietly as she offerred the bag to her husband, finally remembering he'd reached for it just moments ago. "Here, you get first choice."

"Cannae say you been to happy with me lately, or our situation," Fao said, looking down and shrugging. "I know it's a lot and I know I'm a stupid man to be puttin' you through it. I just wanted her to be safe and I didnae see any other options." He raised his eyes to her again. "I ain't gonna eat all your cheesecake and I donnae know what your favorite kind is, so you should get first choice."

The brunette bit her lip and looked down. "It's. . . not quite like that, Faolan. I've been more upset with myself, truthfully." However, she didn't elaborate on what exactly she meant by that, and instead she smiled a bit at Faolan. And honestly, they're all my favorites, so you should choose first so I don't have to agonize quite so much over which one I want first."

"Been upset with yourself over what?" Faolan asked, concern showing in his eyes. "You ain't done anythin' wrong." He looked down at the bag and picked through it till he fished out a plastic fork and a container of chocolate raspberry cheesecake.

Ellandra looked away, shrugging a little. "My own selfishness, that's all." Waiting a moment for Faolan to choose his cheesecake, she at last leaned over and looked through the bag herself, finally selecting a caramel swirl cheesecake - and of course, taking the other fork as well.

"How have you been selfish, lover? I'd say you been pretty understandin' about this all. Sure, I knows you ain't happy, but I donnae think you been at all selfish," Faolan said around a mouthful of cheesecake.
