Mal shrugged internally at the others words…stupidity...idiocy, it was all the same to her. It just meant more people that she needed to avoid. She kept her eyes stuck to the ground concentrating on reading what she was seeing. It was more difficult than she remembered, but well it was probably about time that she practiced it more then.
Her back stiffened when the other female told her she had made a mistake. She straightened chin tilted upwards and quirked one brow eyes darting across the tracks that she had just been looking at again. It seemed that the clearer marks were in fact the ones that Ilythara was gesturing to. The assassin walked back towards the other following the tracks pointed out.
At the other’s comment her temper flared internally, but outwardly the only sign of this was a tightening of her lips, which was hidden by the veil she wore. She replied voice cool arrogance seeping from her words,
“I do not need to learn to track my quarry better, because once I have them they do not escape. I do not give them a chance to run or to even realise that they are in danger.” She waved one hand smoothly, “Being an assassin is all about preparation. I am told where they are and who they are. If I need to go to my target they are normally not running and not even aware they should be.” She tilted her head breezing past the other female.
She felt no worry at all that she would be taken unawares by the slavers. Her opinion of them was pretty low especially after the short fight they had already engaged in.

Ilythara couldn't help but notice the other's reactions to her words. Ah..to be young again, and so self righteous, those were days long gone and days that she was glad she wasn't living any longer. She could tell that Mal hadn't taken her words favorably, and was rather angry at missing the signs.
"I suppose there is that," Ilythara replied softly, not really caring to rile the other any further. "Though..there may be times in the future that you may come up against other assassins who will be able to trick you unless you are able to read the signs better. It would be best to keep that in mind. You won't always be the best there is, though I have no doubt that you are as good as you believe you are. I've already seen what you're capable of."
Ilyth came to a sudden halt, as she turned into another alleyway. She motioned to Mal with a hand at her side to fan out and come around the other side of the alley. The slavers were somewhere in this alley, hiding and waiting for someone to make the wrong move. Since the slavers had no clue that there were two following after them, it would be smart to split up and have the assassin come on them from behind as they were attacking Ilyth.

Mal only threw a look in Ilythara’s direction at her words replying slightly more softly than before, but unable to conceal the arrogance of her words. She really did have more than her fair share of confidence in her abilities.
“I have never met an assassin able to trick me and I doubt I ever shall, but I will bear in mind your words.” That was as close to politely accepting advice as Mal could ever get. As a trainee she had been better behaved, but still she was not used to being wrong in any way.
The assassin stopped as the warrior did tilting her head to the side eyes flickering making sure that they were still safe. It was a habit that she doubted she would ever grow out of and in all honesty it was probably better that she didn’t. If she didn’t pay attention whilst on a job then it could be her last. She had to be careful. She could only be arrogant as long as she was still alive.
She nodded her head at the gesture the other made turning quickly to make her way around to the other side of the alley. Instead of running around on the streets Mal’tyrr chose the faster way of making sure she went directly where she wanted to. She glanced up at the building and satisfied it had enough hand holds made a running leap at the wall to start her off climbing. Hopefully their quarry hadn’t heard the muted thud of her hitting the wall, she really should have been more careful. She was allowing herself to lose focus and that she couldn’t do. She had to pay attention.
It wasn’t a particularly tall building and there were enough crevices and cracks in the bricks that it wasn’t hard to get to the roof at which point she crouched and darted to the other end peering over the edge trying to make out what was happening below.

Ilythara kept her face blank of the slight smirk that was lurking underneath at the other's words. She didn't comment or say anything more, but was rather impressed at the other's idea of climbing up a nearby wall and up on the roof. The muted thud made her flinch a bit, and she glanced around to see if anything stirred at the sound.
The alleyway stayed silent..way too silent for Ilyth's taste. Her brow furrowed as she slowly made her way into the trashed alley. There were piles of rotting rags and small dead bodies of rats piled around the stony ground. The strong stench hit Ilyth but she ignored it, drawing her face into a clenched grimace and breathed through her mouth instead.
Her eyes flitted around, taking in the other junk that was strewn all over, looking for the slightest bit of movement. Her sharp ears picked up a slight shuffle from nearby; only a few paces away from her back. She pretended to ignore it so that the slavers would be lulled into a false sense of security and strike out at her without thinking it through.
That is exactly what happened for seconds later a flying attack came at her from both sides her. Ilyth turned and caught one attacking slaver seconds before he could hit her with his long sword. Her axe split into the male's chest with a sickening sound, blood ebbing out of his body and down the blade of the axe. Ilyth jerked the blade free and spun to meet the other attacker.
