Faolan laughed at the girl going out of her way to hide from him while she changed. He got up and knocked on the cabinet doors. "Oi, lass, I'll be out in the front room when you're done changin' so we can talk more." He head out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Faolan smiled as she walked in, cooking up some breakfast for himself and the girl. "Shirt's on backwards." He focused on the food a moment before glancing at her again. "How do you like your eggs?" He paused a moment, brow furrowing slightly in thought. "You do have some sort of pants on under that shirt, yeah?"

"Scrambled I can do," Fao said, nodding. "I managed to wrangle some bacon out of a few roustabouts when I bartered for the eggs. You want some of it for breakfast?" He glanced over at her, eyes roaming over her unconsciously. Smiling a bit, the young man couldn't help but notice that Lee was actually rather cute. That brought up two thoughts to him: one, he was finding himself attracted to the girl in a way and, two, the next three months were going to be rather interesting.

Fao turned to look at Zia where the alter was sitting on the steps just outside the open door of the vardo. "Hey, hinny. Go on t'gettin' us some milk, eh? Pretty sure we got some bottles delivered in. See if the Garbonis have a spare they can give us."

The Essentic nodded and headed off. Faolan looked back at Lee. "Get the other two to go finish sleeping in the bedroom so we can talk, eh?"

Faolan set a plate of food down before the girl: scrambled eggs, bacon, and bread fried in the bacon grease. When Zia returned, he gave the alter a plate of food and a glass of the milk it had brought back before sending it off to go have breakfast elsewhere.

Setting a plate for himself down across the table from the girl, Faolan plopped down in the chair in an easy sprawl and set down a mug of coffee. "Hope the food's alright. I ain't used to cookin' for people who's meals probably could by my vardo." He gave her a teasing grin, waiting to see how she liked his cooking.

Faolan watched her, eyes half-closed with happiness that the girl was enjoying the food. He ate his own breakfast a bit slower, taking time to actually taste the food rather than inhaling it.

"Now, love, the thing we need to settle on is what to do with you exactly. My da will likely let you help him on the books if you're any good with numbers, but it wouldnae be regular work, which might work best while you're still settlin' in. The other thing is . . . what exactly do you want out of this? We got three months to sort out the marriage and get you adopted by someone here in the clan, but I'd rather do what you want. If'n you wanna stay married, we'll do that, but if you wanna work out an adoption and annul the marriage before the end of the three months, then we'll get to work on that. So, what would you prefer?"

"You could go to school here. It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done," Fao said, taking a bite of bacon, then pointed in her direction, punctuating his words. "Or, you could do like I did and have a tutor. Da was able to get me a pretty good 'un an' I'm sure we could do the same for you, if Lauss donnae want the job himself."

He watched the girl as she considered his next questions, eating quietly. He grinned a bit. "A marriage can work with more than one wife and even more than one husband, depends on the people involved. As for wifey duties, well . . . for now, I guess just helpin' out around the home will kinda do for now. I can teach you to cook if'n you wanna do that, but otherwise, cleaning an' givin' us a hand with renovations and helpin' Elle out on occasion, that's all you really need to do for now." He gave her a rather playful and slightly seductive look. "There's also the cuddlin' and kissin', but that's sorta optional. We stay married an' you wanna have kids one day, we'll talk about that then."

His ear twitched, head tilted to the side slightly. "What if what, darlin'? You got questions, then just ask them. Situation like this needs all the people involved communicatin'."

"It ain't an actual school, exactly. A lot of folk in the clans have had other jobs afore joinin' us and that includes some teachers. Contrary to belief, we didikai ain't just a bunch of stupid pikeys," Fao laughed. "You can attend some classes an' see how you like it. If it ain't what you like, then we'll find you a proper tutor."

He was taken back by her next question, confusion showing a bit on his face. "I'm 27 as of my last birthday. That was in March. Not thinkin' me too old for you now, are you?" Though his question was valid, he lessened it a little with a teasing tone and laughing grin.

"Well, lass," he began, "we got three months to sort out how we like each other an' get along. You wanna know somethin' on me, just ask. I have nothin' to hide from you."

"Sure you can take him along. Ain't a body here gonna think twice on him runnin' around here as an alter. No one's ever said anythin' to Zia. They take it as a kid in a costume," Fao said, giving a little shrug. "If you think he could be quiet, you could take him to a few classes once his arm's healed up if he wants to pretend to be a stuffed animal. Elle take Rhian to her storytellin' when she likes pretendin' to be a puppet."

He looked up at her first reaction to his age, ears lowering a bit and thinking maybe she wasn't liking the age difference until she began talking again. "It's not so bad, nae. As a halfbreed, I got a longer lifespan anyway. I'll be able to keep up with you long until your autumn years, love."

"Sure you can wait and see how things go. That's the point of the three months, after all," Foa said, finishing his breakfast. "The offer's still open, though. You get curious on anythin' about me, just ask, alright?" He stood up, picking up his plate and mug, and went to the little tin basin they kept on a small counter by the stove to wash dishes in.
