Fall Cleaning...of sorts.

The date is hard to make out, scratched through a couple of times.

Rose sat with the dual bottles tied to her hips again as the sunlight filtered through the glass tubes. The shine and shimmer had all but vanished and the tubes had gathered a thin layer of dust but Rose had eagerly spent the day trying to clean and polish them both up, freshening the area.

For it was a fall cleaning of sorts, all the windows were open and a light breeze had been blending in with the room's objects, taking out the dust and small debris and bringing back with it a slight air of change. Rose sneezed on and off because of her allergies but happily dusted and cleaned what she could, hoping that somehow, it would brighten up things. With her mood brightening, so did the bottles; light shining through the newly-cleaned surfaces with a mischievious glimmer.

As the sun began to set, Rose stood back and looked at what she had accomplished; herself covered with gray dust and dirt but overall quite pleased with herself. She gently took the bottles off of her waist and set them near the window and the setting sun, preparing herself...to wash all of the dust off. As she left the room and started the hot steam of the shower, one could have almost swore the bottles moved a bit...but, maybe it was just the wind...

(Dust Spin --> Child Quest*)

Most bottles seem to have to come into contact with what their dust is before they get the final push for their glitter to form into a real life child.. But how will the dual bottles come across a pair of harpy talons? Will Rose simply stumble across some claws like she stumbled across the bottles? Will she feel the scratch of a living harpy's talons?! The answer is up to you, show some creativity in your response! Perhaps coming into contact with those talons will make the winged bottles flutter some real wings?

The Storm Subsides

North of the city once again, Rose and her two charges once again are in the fields near the seashore. "It's been awhile, hasn't it?" The girl mused to the empty air around her. Laying down on the grass, she pulled out her sketchbook and began to take note of the images around her; grass (of course), some flowers scattered about, a few trees, bird's nests, and down below, an odd tree. The various flora and fauna kept her busy for awhile, her bottles next to her in her familiar knapsack until late in the afternoon.

Rose looked up at the sky and sighed, pulling out a bit of her lunch and beginning to enjoy the packed snack when something caught her eyes. It wasn't very shiny or even valuable-looking, but it caught her eyes more the same. The girl walked over to the oddly placed tree and found the bottom of it surrounded by a thin layer of sand. She placed her hands through the sand until she managed across a couple of soft feathers. Unique in color, they glistened with a pale light in hues of blue and purple in her hands. The female stared at them for a moment before the darkening of the sky around her lead her eyes to quite a large sight.

The sky had turned dark black, gray wisps floating by before a horrible noise pierced the windy afternoon. As if carried among the storm's breezes a creature that could only be called a man-bird suddenly stood before her. Rose blinked, taking in this grand sight before reality quickly set in; these were not normally found around here (more or less anywhere else) and as such, she suddenly felt her skin prickle with sweat. She eyed the creature carefully, studying it before noticing that its attention was not on it, but on something else; her bottles. She looked at the distance between her and the bottles, a few feet but to a flying creature like that bird, it would only take a mere moment to grab them. And so, the female decided to do something that only a reckless person would choose for themselves and dashed towards them.

With those movements, the bird rushed forward and grasped the two bottles within its talons like a flash of lightning and with an out-stretched hand, the girl named Rose jumped into the air to attempt to reclaim her treasures...and failed miserably. The last seconds of her flight were filled with a screeching cry before the dark storm clouds filled her vision and faded into darkness.

Chirp.
Chirp...

The sun was shining as the female opened her eyes. The sky was blue and a quiet breeze blew through the area as Rose sat up and rubbed her eyes curiously. No storm clouds. No gale of wind blowing through. "What in the world happened?" she wondered out-loud as she turned back to her parcel and sketchbook. Her bottles sat still next to her sketchbook and two colored feathers lay between the pages. Still confused, she looked around to see the waving grass in the wind, the odd tree from before and a squirrel beneath it eating a small sandwich.

Rose silently cursed her luck at losing her lunch to a rodent and picked up her pencil to begin sketching again. The sun's light shown down on her work, glistening off of the scratched bottles with a pale light. How long would it take for the unknowning girl to realize that perhaps....her vision was a bit more real then she had imagined...?

It happened one early morning with some cracks, smashing of glasses and what sounded like chirping. Rose just thought a bird's nest had fallen from its perch near her windowpane but those noises just sounded way too close to be from the outside. That's when the piece of glass flew past her and embedded itself into the wall behind her. She opened her eyes and found them on the floor, somehow unclothed and gashing each other with their new-found wings and claws. They were the same size, roughly around the age of elementary school children; one with hair the color of violets and the other, the darkened hue of a stormy sea.

She got up from her bed and watched them from a distance for a few moments, a nearby sketch pad beginning to fill up with the inked drawings and pieces of time frozen for her canvas. When her pen began to dry, she reached over for a new well, only to have the currently dry well roll off towards the two girls. As it hit one girls talons, both stopped and followed the path back to Rose's scattered expression; which sent the girl flying underneath the bed. The newborns-into-children peered underneath the bed as Rose's eyes looked back at them carefully. The girls squawked and muttered to themselves in a sort of childlike chirping for a few moments before Rose decided to try to brave getting out to see them.

The woman emerged from under the bed and watched the two girls watch her back carefully as she pointed to herself. "Rosalyn. I'm Rosalyn. You can call me Rose...if it's easier." The girls looked at each other before a hand (or would that be a claw, Rose wondered) pointed to the girl with violet hair in return. "Renai" The other girl, with locks a bluish hue, seemed a bit miffed but still pointed to herself in return. "Ariol" With the names seemingly revealed to her, Rose gently got up and pulled out two matching shirts that she had kept from her younger years. She'd never really understood why she hadn't thrown them out before, but with all of the odd happenings as of late, she now realized that this could have been the reason after all. She walked back over to each girl in turn and carefully helped them put on the shirts she had recovered. They each squawked a bit as they were forced into clothes but Rose was starting to hear words that sounded familiar to her; words she could understand as they went along.

Ariol and Renai quickly found themselves placed in front of a mirror and they watched their reflections in awe, as Rose wandered over to the remains of the bottles she had held so dear to her. She gathered up the pieces and shards to place them on a plate that she kept near the desk in her room. Later, once she'd had some time to get to know the two girls, she'd find a way to transform some of the pieces into something that might be meaningful to them both. For now, however, Rose turned her attention back to the twins, who had decided to start drawing with her makeup on the mirror they had been standing in front of. Her face crinkled up for a moment in horror before relaxing back to a small smile. Her life as the owner of "Emotions" had definately gotten a whole lot more interesting!

A few scritches line the pages as Rose's handwriting appeared within the center of the page.

Renai

- Ziya -

He's shiny and sparkly but he seems sad. He helped me clean up the mess we made in the marketplace. He's cool.

- Epoch -

He waved at me! I like his hat too, maybe I'll get Rose to get me a hat too.

Ariol

- Ziya -

Seems like a chicken but he has powers. He gets a +1 in coolness for that reason only. I wanna fight him.

- Epoch -

Is scared of me. His hat will be mine one day, if he'll appear long enough outside of hiding behind his human-guardian-person for me to take it!
