As soon as she started running, Ovu's eyes flashed darkly. "Three-two-one!" The last three numbers came quicker than the first two had done. Surely she hadn't trusted that he would play fair? The very thought caused him to let out a laugh that soon turned into a roar. "Ready or not, here I come!" With one swift move, he sprung to his feet and started running.
As he ran, it was as if his path was completely clear. Anyone with a supersticious mind would think that the trees moved for him, and that he didn't move around the trees. Of course, that wasn't true. It was simply that he never faultered, even when branches and vines threatened to stop him. He just ploughed through, allowing nothing to slow him down. This place was his playground, and all he did here was have fun.
It didn't take long for him to catch her scent, and soon after that he could hear her. Soon enough, he would be able to see her. He wondered how scared she was, and the thought tickled him. "You're putting up a good chase me dear!" He shouted wickedly. "But you'll get tired long before I do!"

Did he think she was really that stupid? honestly; he must have thought she was just birthed yesterday. When she heard him roar she picked up her pace; pushing her body to the limits. She wished for a moment that she hadn't left that dumb lion from the oasis; there'd be less of a chance of her getting into a situation like this.
After only what seemed a few seconds; she could hear him bulldozing through the jungle and she suddenly knew she was going to get caught. 'That male should join the demons pride' she heard the voice in her head snicker. But Yaretzi tried to will it into silence. This was not the time to be listening to an obvious distraction. She just wanted to get out of the trees so when he finally did catch her; he wouldn't be able to push her into anything or corner her.
She let out a roar of frustration as her entire body began to burn from the exertion; or maybe it was from the fear? Her adrenaline rush began to wear off; and she wondered what would happen when her body finally gave up. She didn't want to think about that but she knew it wouldn't be pretty. And rather than be raped again; she came to a sudden stop; turning her whole body around; waiting in a defensive position; trying to catch her breath and surprise him.

Ovu was having a fabulous time. The thrill of a good chase was something that could not be beaten. Chasing prey beasts and those that were obviously weaker than him was fun while it lasted, but it was no where near as fun as chasing a fully grown adult. One who could provide even the smallest of challenges.
She would be in view any moment now, he just knew it. In all the excitement though, he didn't even notice that he could no longer hear her. He was definatly heading in the right direction, and it will have been too late for her to change direction. When his bloodshot eyes landed on her, he let out one final roar. "You're mine!" He then pounced. However, he was so charged up from chasing her, he again failed to realise that she was no longer moving.

((UUUUGH I love your sig ;3; I want that adol male in the front >3 he's hawt))
She watched him barrel towards him; tensed as he lunged at her; her whole body building up; her survival instincts flaring up once more as she made her final decision. When he hit her she dipped her shoulder down towards the side her was hitting; and then raised it in a means to throw him. Praying to the gods he'd hit a tree; or land on a rock and have the wind knocked from him enough to put him out for a while.
She heard him hit something hard. Be it just the ground or something else; she planned on not sticking around to figure out what it was; and instead bolted for her life. Fleeing the best she could with the little energy she had.
She ran as far and as fast as she could before she just seemed to give up; her whole body failing. She fell hard and she felt what little air was left in her slip from her lips. She whimpered and curled up into a ball; her whole body burning as it all caught up with her. She let out a jagged breath and tried to bring in one more.
It seemed like hours when really it was only maybe 15 minutes to half an hour before she finally realized he wasn't going to get her. She began to breath a bit easier (though still strained from the run) just from the thought that she had gotten away. She looked up; eyes still partly closed and realized the air here smelled funny... vaguely of ash and brimstone. She looked around her and saw it; the mouth of a volcano...
She couldn't beleive it as she collapsed thankful to the gods. She'd finally made it to the pride of Demons. She was safe.

(( X3 Thankies. XD I can't wait for him to grow. ))
It all happened so quickly. One minute he was soaring through the air, about to deliver the killing blow. The next, he was on his back, staring up into the thick darkness of the jungle. Night had fallen, and all was silent.
Ovu struggled to remember what had happened. His head ached, and when he rolled on to his side, he saw a tiny pool of blood. He looked around, searching for the cause. He was lay beside a large boulder. Slowly but surely, the fragments of his memory came together. The female had managed to throw him in the direction of the boulder, and he had hit his head. Hard.
The large blood-red lion quickly got to his feet, his anger swelling rapidly inside him. Of course, she was long gone by now. In his whole adult life, she was the first creature to have ever escaped from him. Sure, others had survived previously, but only because he had allowed it. This one however had escaped with out so much as a scratch. His tail whip violently from side to side as his rage continued to grow. He would make her pay, someday. For now, he needed to take his aggression out on the next unfortunate soul to cross his path. With that in mind, a small smile crept on to his face. The fun part about games was that it was always easy to start new ones.
(( Finished! ))
