Who is Mortar, wondered Eiji, but since her attempts to communicate with others hadn't gone over so well (She was being completely clear, it was clearly their own stupidity) she didn't bother to ask. Meanwhile, her sister was entranced - the way his voice had suddenly changed! Was that even possible? For really, possible?

The same question flickered through Cheche's brain as well, and she might have completely ruined the mood Cobalt had already set by asking it if she hadn't been thoroughly distracted by the tiniest person she had ever seen. She squinted at London, then looked down at the filth-caked and discarded Barbie on the ground beside her. Were they friends? How come no one had ever told her about Barbie's friend?

"I stood and started for the woods," Cobalt said, having no clue that he had made a mistake in his story telling. "The grass was crunchy under my feet and I swear I felt something slimy brush against my leg. An owl hooted in front of me, a creepy sound that sent shivers down my spine. But the music had started again."
He lowered his voice, looking at them each intensely. "I was in the shadows, the trees looming over me, and with each step I got closer and closer to the music."
