Cedric wiggles, pulling himself out as far as he can on the rim. Okay, he didn't mind a little warmth, but this was too warm! And what.. was the juice going away?! There was steam like whenever made pasta and the kitchen got foggy from water.
"It's getting really warm Asteeeeer 8_8;;;; Is it gonna bubble like when you make sketti!?" Cedric looked up at her, plainly scared about what would happen to him if suddenly his cup behaved like a hot pot of noodle water.
"... s**t s**t s**t... allright OW," Aster took one hand off the cup and stuck her finger in her mouth. CRIPES. HOT,"It's gonna be okay, right Cedric? We're just gonna cool off that.. whatever the hell's in your cup until it burns itself out, okay? Remember how Morgan had ice cubes to play with in his cup? We'll get you some of those!" Aster put on a steady face and smiled at the little orange boy, setting him on the counter on a towel wet with some cold water, and then digging some ice cubes out of the fridge and setting them with a gentle plonk into the juice.

With all the cooling measures the heat in the cup dies down, as does the flame. Soon, it is only a small glow at the bottom of the cup, wavering with Cedric’s movement and then going out.

Cedric and Aster both glance at each other, and then back down at the bottom of his glass.
"Is it gone?" he asks.
"Dunno. But I'll keep an eye out for it, mmk?" she replied.
"Hokay," he slid back down in his cup again. A little colder than he liked it, but it was okay.

In the middle of the night Cedric's juice takes an uncomfortable turn in temperature. From too hot to too cold! The condensation building on the exterior of the cup is a tell-tale sign that it is at least refrigerator chilly. What a rollercoaster ride!

"Asteeeeeer," Cedric's tinny little voice sounded from the coffee table. Aster had finally nodded off about an hour ago, thinking the Drinkable! out of the wilderness so to speak.
"Mmh?" her nose twitched.
"Cooooldddd" he said, tiny teeth chattering.

The once robust orange colored liquid seems to pale with it's steadily dropping temperature. This doesn't look good.

Cedric splashed at Aster. Wake up! Cold cold cold cold cold.... ;____;
"Augh! Sonnuva!" Aster sat up. COLD. AUGH. IN FACE.
"Aster!" he called again, to get her to look down. Soooo cooooolllllld.
She glanced down, jaw dropping open. That'd been him?! But that had been... freezing. Freezing. Oh s**t. The ice. Had to warm him up had to warm him up fast. "There there there let's get you warm oh s**t s**t s**t..." Aster picked up the cup, hoping that'd help start to warm him up while she got a bowl out of the cupboard. Boiling him wouldn't work, and she didn't want to throw him in the microwave. So... maybe if she just got some hot water out of the sink...
"Hang in there Cedric, okay?" She filled the bowl with water, and then set his mug inside the warm pool. Thankfully all his little stars were made of sharpie marker, so they didn't bleed off. "Now, we'll see if this helps until I can get some water boiling on the stove, kay?"
"K-k-kaaaay," he said in a chattery voice. Brrrr.

The temperature seems to warm a bit with the waterbath treatment, but still keeps fairly cold. Even with the warming a small stream of steam issues from the cup...a cold steam.
