Actually, come to think of it, that reminds me more of Sora than it does Riku. He was the one who always talked about her and stuff, and Riku just sort of closed himself off whenever Sora mentioned her. You know what I mean?

Yes. Chances are, they were both deluding themselves. Sora however, wasn't nearly as far in as Riku (in terms of self-damage) and seemed to be doing it more unconciously - kinda puppy-like, whereas Riku was more like a cat...

Ah. Yeah, you've got a point. Riku definitely used Kairi as a pawn to win Sora's affection, and he nearly fell into darkness because of it...

Scathach13 Ok, I'll rephrase that. Very frequently, people who are in denile about their sexual orientations try to crush/ignore/denie it by going out with people of the "correct" sex. Sometimes, it can even turn into obbsession - with self-delusion, stalking... And often, the person who's in denile becomes very mean/avoids the person they actually like. Like how Riku always runs away from Sora but stalks him all the time? XD The poor boy is madly in love and all confused...

Both probable reasons. He's also probably totally freaked out about his sexual prefrences... From the little, tiny, utterly miniscule bits we've heard about the DI, they seem kinda... I dunno... "cutelittlevillagewhereeverythingisnormal" or somthing. I'm just guessing really...

Another hidden meaning...whenever the mini-island is getting all...sucked into the sky and into the big portal of darkness, Riku was standing, staring, and instead of finding Kairi or something, when Sora found him, he held out his hand. For him.
"Kairi? No no no, ******** Kairi! D:<" I can imagine him saying, if questioned about it.

It seemed like when he said "Kairi's coming too!" he meant "LET THE F****** B**** DIE!!! COME WITH ME!!! NOW!!!"
...But the problem with that logic, is why he tried so hard to get Kairi's heart back. Maybe when the island was destroyed, it was an end-of-the-world-thing... So he stopped pretending...?
