The mud-colored lion was glad when he found out that he wasn't taking her away from anyone. He thought himself a gentleman, and didn't want to be rude by forcing her into thinking that she had to stay and chat with him. He knew he must not be that interesting to talk to.
When she asked about his naming quest, he had to admit that he was caught a little off guard. He hadn't thought that the naming quest, or at least his naming quest, had been all that special. Really, he had gone on it because he had wandered away from the pride at an early age, around the time when he should have taken his naming quest. So he had figured it was fate and simply wandered around until he felt satisfied with his aimless roaming. He knew he would have to think a little about his answer to her question.
"Well, I kind of... got lost," he admitted. "I hadn't meant to go on my naming quest when I did, it just happened. One day I went wandering and couldn't find my way back. So I decided to go on my naming quest." He smiled at her sheepishly, a little embarassed at the fact. "And since I had never really talked to anyone who had gone on a naming quest before, I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to do. But I went to so many different places. I never knew land could be so dry! Or so full of green plants." He grinned from ear to ear, remembering his own shock at seeing the desert and the jungle. But then he thought about the second part of her question, and he frowned slightly.
"I didn't meet many others, though," he sighed, wishing he had gotten to make more friends. "Just some meetings here and there, nothing special." He shrugged slightly, not bothered too much.
He was completely oblivious as to what she was trying to get at concerning whether he had a mate or not.

Semira smiled and nodded along while the other lions told her about his experience. When he finished he talking she sat there looking at him, had he mentioned whether he had a mate or not.... she didn't think so. She went through all that he had said again, and was positive he hadn't said one way or another.
She smiled how to go about asking now. "So no uh special friends. No mate?" she laughed she managed to get it out, she felt oddly proud of herself. It wasn't like her to be so up front. She wasn't sure why she was so interested in knowing about his personal life they had just met. None the less she felt a desire to know.

Bin'tope smiled sheepishly, then frowned, then smile once more. He wasn't sure whether he should feel ashamed or perhaps proud that he hadn't settled down yet. Ashamed that he was only getting older and still hadn't found that special someone, but proud that he was still available to the ladies. He could pimp himself out and make a few friends here and there...
He chuckled deeply to himself. "No special friends, no mate." He honestly didn't mind her being so straightforward. He actually liked it, as it was easier for him to keep a conversation going and to keep interest in her. He was generally an easy-going lion, so it was quite difficult to offend him.
"Just me, myself, and I," he chuckled, although it was rather cheesy. He'd find his woman sooner or later, but he wasn't in any sort of rush. It would happen when it happened and, in the meantime, he would simply have some fun.

Semira listened she wasn't one to judge about his age or whether or not he had chosen to settle down with another lion. Perhaps he was like her, maybe he didn't have enough trust to commit to someone like that. She smiled, although she didn't care that he didn't have a mate one way or another, he was happy to hear that he didn't... she just couldn't explain why.
"I don't think you should have to rush into finding a mate..." she said, trying to offer reassurance in case he was self cautious about the fact. "I am all on my own and have been for my whole life... that is other than the lions I traveled here with, but I didn't meet them till I was an adult."

It wasn't that the brown lion didn't trust anyone enough to commit himself to them, it was more that he hadn't really been looking. In fact, he had been kind of isolated as of late, so it was quite impossible for him to have found someone. And it wasn't like he was in any sort of rush anyways. He wasn't exactly old and, although he wasn't as young as he once was, he still had quite a bit of time before he started turning gray. When the female voiced his own thoughts, he smiled charmingly and chuckled slightly, nodding in agreement with her.
"Yeah, I know I've got plenty of time so I'm not in any rush. Besides, these things can't really be rushed, you know?" he spoke, flicking his tail curiously as he thought for a moment. "These things take time, and eventually the right female will find me." He shrugged, not putting a lot of importance on the matter.
When she talked about having been alone her whole life, however, he frowned slightly. But then he smiled again as he thought about how much her life had turned around for the better.
"Well, you're here now and I'm sure you'll never be without a friend." He nodded his head in affirmation, feeling like he had to cheer her up. Being alone wasn't fun, he knew, and it was always more comforting and enjoyable when you had others around you to talk to and to simply keep you company.
"Life in a pride couldn't get any better."

"Life in a pride is good, I quite enjoy it." Semira looked around her this truly was becoming a home. She made a small move, and realized that the sun had moved quite a distance in the sky, she had spent a lot of time with this male and it had past so quickly.
"I hate to say this Bin' but I must head back to my dens. Truth be told my family isn't use to me being gone this long, it isn't often I meet others that I can talk to like you." She sighed she didn't want to leave yet, but she didn't want to make her family worry about her anymore.
"I hope that we will meet again soon." she smiled to the lion, it had been a great afternoon, and Semira was happy that she had made a friend.

Bin'tope nodded his head slightly, letting it bounce more from gravity than from any actual force on his part. "Pride life certainly make's a lion's life a whole lot easier," he chuckled. "If you're too lazy to hunt, there's always someone willing to share. And if you get lonely, there's never someone far away." Much different than being on one's own.
When the female spoke that she needed to leave him now, before she worried her family, the male nodded his head in complete understanding. He was feeling a bit tired himself, and thought it would be a good idea to find some place to take a nice nap. "That's perfectly fine," he purred, flicking his tail and parting his jaws in a slight yawn. "I'm feeling pretty beat myself, so I think I'm just going to find some place to settle down for the night." When she spoke that she wished they would meet again soon, the brown lion flashed one of his charming smiles, nodding once more.
"I'm certain we will, Semira. The pride may be vast, but we'll both be here. I don't see why we can't get together again to chat. So, with that, I will allow you to head back to your family. I hope you have a wonderful evening, miss," he spoke politely, bowing slightly. He then dipped his head in a farewell before turning around and heading deeper into the Swamplands.
She was a nice lioness, he thought, but now it was time to take a nice nap.
