After meeting with Aikori again, she had rushed home to develope more photos. She was excited now the she was starting to understand what the camera would do, though she was unsure of being able to make things seem like a photograph and not a scrape picture.

She worked in the dark room humming and singing out when she felt like there was no one there, cause every now and then Xenos would enter but leave after checking on her. She had to warn Hikari about being careful. The spirit was very short and had to use a ladder to reach much of the working area.

I wonder if I'll want to keep this up, I mean I enjoy it and this is more of a hobby for Xenos as well, she chuckled as she heard Xenos rip paper on the floor above her. She had been working carefully and looked at the picture from the park. Well at least I am getting images.

M

Decidedly less relaxed than in his last entrance, Nagir slowly peeked around the door to see if the inquisition was still present. Sighing in relief at the empty room, he entered.

"Well, maybe this time I'll actually meet somebody less threatening," he said half jokingly, fiddling with the end of his braid. The magenta lanturn hanging from his arm glowed happily, seemingly in response.

Xenostatica

Hikari was a bit excited today, she was almost finished with working on those pictures and was happy to leave the camera at home. She opened the door to the shop, she wonder if she would see any one new today.
M

Hearing the door open behind him, Nagir jumped practically a few feet in the air, his nerves shot from the other

day. Turning, he was relieved to find that it wasn't any of the people he had run into yesterday. Waiting for his heartbeat to return to normal levels, he attempted to salvage some of his dignity by standing up straight and giving his most charming smile.

"Well, hello there miss," he said, trying to make his voice sound confident.

Xenostatica

Hikari smile wide, "Hello there, I'm Hikari!" She bowed as she usually did with new people and after stuck out a had for a greeting handshake. "It's nice to meet you."

M

Taking her hand, he shook it warmly, glad he had met at least one friendly person in this shop. Well, he couldn't say much about the other girl who he had met with that lanturn spirit, since he really didn't get to talk to her much, what with other interruptions.

"You can call me Nagir. My name is kinda long, so that's good enough," he said. "Are you a lanturn owner as well?"
Xenostatica

"Nagir, okay, if that's good enough," she nodded and continued the friendly smile with the hand shake. "A lanturn owner? I'm a lanturn...so I can't own a lanturn." She giggled at the thought.

M

"Ah, I see," he said smiling. "I really haven't met many of you, so it's a bit hard for me. Especially with so many...distractions going on."

Xenostatica

Hikari smiled and nodded, "Distractions?" She glowed red with curiousity, "What distractions?"

M

"Oh, it was nothing really," he laughed nervously, trying to seem calm. "Just a few uncomfortable questions by strangers. Come to think of it, I don't remember if I even asked their names." Not that he had some burning curiosity to find out. He never wanted to see that pair again.

Xenostatica

Hikari was even more curious, "REALLY? I wouldn't think anyone here would ask uncomfortable questions..." she thought about the lanturns and owners, "Nevermind, there might be a few. Xenos, my guardian always says let be what will be...though does that even fit in this situation?" SHe scratched her head a moment. "SO you have a lanturn?"

M

"I think they just took a personal dislike to me because I'm babysitting Marrigan's lanturn," he said, removing the magenta lanturn from his arm and holding it up. "She's sleeping at the moment, so I thought it'd be a good idea to bring Yuiri here along when I went out. I think they mistook me for a thief, or some other sort of evil person."

Xenostatica

"I could see that causing problems, many of the guardians never let the lanturns leave their sides, heck Xenos even had me sleep in her room," Hikari nodded, "Anf it took me forever to be able to come on my own to the shop and out." She looked at the little lanturn and smiled, "Cutie little lanturn, so you brought her with you."

M

"Well, I'd say that Marrigan is pretty close to her lanturn here." Nagir smiled, looking even more closely at the lanturn. "But, since Marrigan can't go out now, and can't even pay attention to Yuiri at the moment, I thought it'd be kinda cruel to just leave her sitting on the table. I know how awful it is not to be able to go anywhere on your own."

Xenostatica

Hikari nodded, "So what's Yuiri's actions like? Is she bright, happy or does she just glow when she's awake?" Hikari was excited just to see a lanturn, she didn't get to see too many and not often enough for her to grasp the concept of it all.

M

"Well..." Nagir had to think about this for a moment. He really didn't have half the experience with Yuiri that Marrigan had, having only been awake for the past five days or so.

"Hmmm, she almost always seems to have this gentle happy glow. I get the feeling that she's enjoying watching us. And," he smiled, recalling something he had seen out of Marri's eyes, "she seems to glow even brighter when near our artwork."

Xenostatica

"That's really interesting, Xenos said I had the same reaction to her and her art work..." Hikari was excited, "A soft glow I wonder if she will be quiet and a little more refined them me..." she blushed and laughed a little, "That's really cool, what will you do when Marrigan can go out?"

M

"Well, I'll probably just do what I usually do." Nagir sighed unhappily. He knew that Marrigan was probably going to wake up any day now, and his little joyride was going to be over. But still, this would at least make it easier to switch...

"I think we'll end up taking turns taking care of Yuiri. Marrigan, despite her good points, can be such a p***k at times, so she needs someone to teach her how to have fun!" Nagir grinned widely. He had never had any real siblings, so maybe this could really end up being something fun.

Xenostatica

Hikari nodded in her listening as to show that she was listening to him, "It would be nice if you could share her, cause this is an important stage for her ans she could be use to you already, just your voice alone can show her caring and understanind, and fun is especially important!"

M

"I hope that she likes me when she finally comes out. I'm hoping I'll be the one there when she does, but I get the feeling it'll end up being Marrigan." He grimaced a little, not really unhappy, because he knew it would mean a lot to Marri. After all, she had done most of the caretaking.

"Marri'd probably end up taking her to all libraries and museums. Not that I'm against it, I like good books and paintings enough. But still, every once in a while, somebody needs to do something a little more wild, ya know?"

Curiously, he looked at the spirit.

"What kind of things does your caretaker, Xenos was it, do with you?"

Xenostatica

Hikari got excited getting to answer a question, "Oh she does everything and takes me to many places, I've been to museums and libraries, but she also takes me to parks and the lake and such fun places, also parties like the tea party that was at the store a few weeks back." She seemed to bounce with each answer, "She says that all work and now play will make one grump and annoyed with life so we go out and have fun too."

M
Nagir nodded in agreement.

"A very wise lady. I'd like to meet her some day." Nagir said, grinning. "So, what was your favorite place to go to? I'd like to see more of this place, since I haven't been here long, and I'm sure you know of good places to go."

Xenostatica

Hikari smiled, "well some of the best areas that all the lanturns congerate at is the park...it's about a block away. We always end up there for some strange reason." She chuckled, "And hopefully the fair is coming!"

M

"A park, eh? Sounds pretty," Nagir said, smiling at the response. He wasn't really a park person, per say, but it was probably a good place to work on his sketches. Plus, he was sure that Marrigan, and probably Yuiri in the future would like it.

"And a fair? Fair games and food are always a good thing." Nagir hoped he would be around for the event. "Do you know when it's gonna be?"

Xenostatica

Hikari thought for a moment, "I don't know Aikori had made mention of it saying he would take me. That's should be in the summer or something like that..."

Hikari was hiding in her room as Xenos was walking around down stairs. She had spilt a lot of paint in the studio and Xenos had been angry, but it hadn't been because of the spilling, it was that Hikari had been too scared to clean it that it had dried on the wooden floor. She could hear Xenos cursing and the drill or something of that nature being used.

She pulled herself out from under the bed and dusted the bunnies off of her. She felt rather guilty for what she had done. She didn't dare bother Xenos with what she did. She would just wait.

Hikari sat quietly in the corner of her room, she was watching the birds from the window and smiled as they sang their tune. She noticed that there was something different in the air it was not at all like what she expected. She looked around to see if anything could hint to such difference.

Getting up slowly she looked down at the crumbs she had left on the ground. This was the remains of morning breakfast. The muffin had been kind of crumbly and soft. Xenos had made her fresh muffins even after the incedent from the other day. She let out a sigh as the birds continued in their own little world. She shuffled across the floor and knocked over the table with pictures. The spilling of her work was not a noticeable thing for her. Hikari just sighed. She was out of sorts and was not feeling well.

Hikari looked down at the paper she was writing. History of humans, how was it important to her...she sighed. This was not what she wanted to be doing but Xenos had explained that a well rounded Lanturn should and would in her case learn as much as one can be taught. Even Xenos cringed at the prospects of what had to be taught but felt it as her duty to make Hikari well rounded and a srong individual.

She had even taught her some fencing, parry, parry, thrust... 1 and 2 and 3, it was like a dance of death. She was mezmorized at the elegant actions that Xenos' feet moved and danced across the mate. She was out of practice but that couldn't hurt for a start in this area of Physical Education.

She looked to the window, then she would work outside on the house as she would learn how to repair a broken fence. it had been her fault to begin with but that just made it easier for Xenos to get her outside.

She smiled, she couldn't deny that Xenos did make her laugh and taught her much just sometimes she wished she would loosen up.

Inside Hikari's Diary: -an entry left open-

It isn't that I can't understand who I am or what I am, it is a matter of what I will become. I mean look at me, I'm not at all girly though look at Xenos' she's not at all girly. I wonder what dressing up is like? I could ask Xenos to find me something to wear but where would that leave me? In an outfit that is just not me at all.

I've been working close with Xenos as she is panicing about schools and studies and have found that maybe she was not being so hard on me. I am actually quite fond of her though there are times that we get on each other's nerves. She is lax on me now that the sitituation is at hand that she has much to do, though she always manages to figure a way to check on my work and seeing to my chores.

Cleaning is a redunted(words that Xenos used though I'm not sure how it is spelt). You do it every day and there is nothing to show for it other then another day to clean. I am curious how this habit was started or how it has survived to this day. I hate sweeping it causes me to sneeze and cough though with Xenos, poor thing, she can be laid up for days if it is not done right. She seems to be weak to certain things called Allegries.

On that subject I have discovered that the reason that she is not out with me so much is the simple fact that she is allergic to the sun, though it is not extreme it is know to cause much pain to the point that she wouldn't come out of bed or speak, she simply just cries. I can't help but cry with her as she hugs me and we cry together. She will with some strength get up and make me a treat or a meal but this is difficult and she has to bandage at least one eye from the sun as we have many windows, I often do her the favor of closing them, though she may open them for me because I love the light.

She makes sacrifices for me like those heros in books. The knights and magicians who take on the dragon or monster at the cost of who they are and even at times their lives. She does that for me in that respect. She makes me see that being selfish is not in the vocabulary in this house hold and she even does things for me at great expense.

It is late and she has to start on that project tomorrow so I will go to bed and sleep when she wishes me many good dreams.

Inside Hikari's Diary -sneak peek-

I found that I enjoy the fencing that Xenos' is teaching me, she explains that she can't do it everyday but at least twice a week she will give me lessons. It is up to me to improve myself on the ideas of balance and motion. It's all linked together so that it looks as if someone was dancing to save their lives.

I can be found in the back yard sweeping and humming a tune when I will break out into the first of four stance I have learned. It is simple I am to have my feet spread naturally apart with my feet point in a 90 degree angle, my left been the one pointing out and the other foot, my lead foot is straight. This is a balance act because if you are not balanced so, you will surely fall and that is not an opprotunity that I would want to give an opponent.

Working to make perfect seems to be the truth in this sport.

Diary entry:

It's been a rather slow time for me as Xenos is busy and I don't get to go out quite as much. It's hard to see the others and I would really like to spend more time with them.

I did get to see Aikori the other day, he was reading a book, The Last Unicorn. He explained that it was kind of sad but a goo read. I am rather curious to what is about other then a unicorn. It should be enjoyable and adventures. AS I do so enjoy exciting fiction.

With that in mind of making up the world, I wonder if I do that when I draw or paint. Not so much in my photos as those are stills in real life, though I can make them surreal((my new word today)). I like that I can make my dreams a kind of reality even if I can live in it.

It makes mee kind of sad about those thought, I just don't get it. I mean it's like some times there is this other world that I haven't been exposed to and maybe the lack of that is what I crave. Xenos says we all have a wild side and it like to wander. I wonder if that's what she speaks of?

Hikari's Diary:

Alright so Xenos has kept me busy. She has been able to make sure that I am up to the good work and not slacking in any manner that would be unproductive. As Idle has are the devil's play thing.

It seems that I have been introduced to the world of horror as it seems to be a genre that Xenos has many books on. She explained that she prefers that of the 19th century seems to be the time that the established the genre and some of the best artists of the time are there. It appears that people of stoories such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde...and she showed me that the list goes on.

So I have started with someone that she seemed to have many books on, Edgar Allen Poe. Though these stories make little sense to me. Xenos explained that it is a mater of experience or the lack of experience that sheds light into the world of Darkness. He is a gate way to a depressed time...though I think he was just lost.

But Xenos did say as long as I continued to read that I would learn much in the way of true horror.

Hikari's Notes:

Alright so Xee told me to use a pitcher of water to ...it she say six or eight tea bags. **counts** It's six tea bags definitely. About a cup of sugar or to taste of sweetness. **struggles with the pitcher** Alright now I'm suppose to put the lid on the pitcher and leave it outside for it to "cook" or "bath" out in the sunlight. She says it makes the tea taste better. We'll see.

So I'm suppose to pack for this picnic:
-Blanket
-Cups
-Sunglasses
-Towels ((in case there is a river near by))
-Napkins
-Basket to carry the cupcakes in
-Paper and pens

**steps back and looks at all the stuff** That's it I think. SO if that is it I'm done. **looks around quickly for Xee**

"I'm Finished!"

**runs outside to the garden to play jumprope till it was time to go**

Hikari writes on leaflets of paper:

I'm not for the constructive manner of writing in a book. I am more for storing my stories and personl reflection of my experiences on lose leaves of papers and I just take those and place them into a box under my bed, though this seems a little inefficient it is a manner that I like. I am for constructive manners and exciting likelihood of my abilities being lost in a world that I can not see.

I am really excited about the fact that I am able to do so much, I dig and run around the garden in the back and make sure that those blasted weeds are not growing, it would be an annoyiness if they were to kill of the beautiful roses, carnations, daisies and the others. This would mean that I would have to pick more types of flowers but would not guarntee a great growth that has come from those that I have discovered now.

I have given the option to start a small fish take with Xenos. She said that it would be a great experience though right now, it's not so fun. As I am getting the cycle going for the fish they keep dying, though Xenos says that this is nature I am finding a hard time excepting this as I buy the little fishes and name them but they then die and Xenos takes them away. I am not sure how much fun this is suppose to be but this isn't as fun as I thought it would be. I am not finding having dead fish fun but Xenos says that it is important to understand that we need to follow through on things even if they start out slow and depressing but could end up being a great thing, though I find it hard to believe, I owe it to my fishes that dead to help make a great place for them to live.

Note: Xeno I feel terrible for the delay on Hikari's growth. I actually have her done and mostly colored from a while ago, but if you can hang on a bit longer, i'd like to re-do her and make her prettier ^_^
