Ellandra nodded to Faolan and carried the -now fortunately silent, sensing the urgency of the situation - and headed out the door herself, but not before turning to Ziazan. "Yes, you should; a the least we might not be back until late and he'll need to know that," she said, managing a smile fo the small alter bfore she raced to the east entrance, Rhian in arm.

Meanwhile, William Telemacchus, Jr., was absorbed in the excruciatingly difficult task of. . . choosing which suit to wear to the Katan's. The red looked amazing with his hair, but the blue was better with his complexion. What to choose, what to choose. One must take the time to make such important decisions, why, one might wind up with - horror of horrors - a fashion disaster if one didn't!

Zia darted off across the camps to where Keagan's vardo was while Fao headed in the opposite direction.
He rode up to Ellandra a moment later, catching up with her at the entrance on the back of Stormrunner, a spirited black stallion. He held the reins for the horse tightly with one hand, reins for a much more docile mare in his other hand. "Take Morningmist, Elle, and catch up with us. I don't want you riding too fast with the babies." He handed her the reins, then moved Stormrunner aside, letting the horse dance about wildly a moment. The stallion reared up, then took off full gallop towards the district the Katan residence was in.

Ellandra wasn't very skilled at managing a horse, but did manage to keep Morningmist going in the general direction of Lee's house - it helped that the mare wanted to follow the stallion, and picked up her pace a bit (fortunately not to a gallop) in order to try and catch up.

Having finally settled on the blue suit, William Telemacchus, Jr., was making his way to the Katan's in a rounabout manner via his car - unneccessary, frivolous things to many in this city, those who had no sense of class, when a man rode a horse right in front of his car and forced his driver to slam the breaks.
"What in the world?!?"

Lee stood, almost like a wilted flower, by her mothers side, as the woman of the household directed the staff around her to pick up, wash, and generally make the home sparkle, not that it didn't already. Lee rubbed her eyes, and folded her arms as she watched the scene. "Doesn't this sorta seem..." Oh, what was the word? "Unnecessary?" She was even quieter than usual, her voice almost a whisper. Everything was a bother at this point, the help running in front and behind her, the shine of the floor hitting her eye, this horrible, uncomfortable makeup on her face. The very thought that this man, her future husband, would arrive any minute made everything seem pointless. It's not as if it mattered at this point; how pretty she was, how nice a home they had, how great an upbringing, it was a done deal, wasn't it?
Mrs. Katan rolled her eyes, barking, "Don't be ridiculous. Appearances are everything to this man." She instantly held her tougne without going any further. But Lee understood exactly what she meant... He wouldn't want to marry a girl that would make him look bad. So perhaps... if she played her cards right, this guy wouldn't accept her anyway... There was hope, wasn't there. Lee tried to suppress a small smile, an evil, scheming smile, that tried to reveal what exactly she was thinking. Now, if only she were a better actress...

Stormrunner's hooves clattered loudly over the streets as Fao rode him in a near mad dash to the Katan residence. As the car screeched to a halt, Fao jumped the stallion over the hood of it, continuing on his way. He came to a stop in front of the house, Stormrunner rearing up and neighing loudly.

Ellandra followed Faolan on the back of Morningmist, easily maneuvering around the still-stopped car, barely glancing at the occupant inside - she was much more concerned about poor Lee, and what they could do to get her out of this.
"Ellandra?" piped up a small voice from her arms, and the brunette looked down at Rhian for just a moment before returning her attention to getting to Lee's house.
"Yes, flutterby? Whats it?" She asked, half-distracted by how to deal with the horse.
"Is Miss Lee going to be okay?"
Ellandra could only say, "I hope so," in response, as she, too, made it up to the house.

Meanwhile, an annoyed William was carefullly fixing his hair bfore ordering the driver on. He should only be a few more minutes, then he would get to meet the girl who was deemed to be his new bride. He hoped the fright of that rider hadn't made him look peakish, that would never do - and was that his former fiancee riding past? All right, this was definitely getting strange. Ah well, he'd just have to shoo her off, no doubt she was begging to come back to him now, but the Katans had more money and thus Lee was obviously the better choice in a bride.

Every person in the house stopped and looked toward the door at the strange sound from the front. Neighing? Even Lee had been caught off guard. Mrs. Katan motioned to the door man to reveal whatever was outside, and as the door was pulled open, the woman's jaw dropped. A small eye twitch and she stormed out to give the strange horse riders an earful. Lee couldn't help but give the riders a big grin. So, they came after all.
"What do you think you're doing? This is private property, you can't--" Wait... she'd seen that man before... And that woman looked vaguely familiar as well... "You..." She glared at him cooly, taking in his attire and face to make sure it was who she thought it was. "You're that... carnival man. Well, I'm sorry, but Lee's getting married." Really now, silly boy, no need to come see her anymore. She's not for sale. "Now just... leave, before your horse ruins my drive." No droppings, please, we don't want Willy's first experience here to be a shoe full of horsey poo. She didn't have time for this, and didn't even bother addressing Ellandra.
Lee stepped out behind her mother, waving shyly to Faolan and Ellandra. She didn't know what they were planning, but she figured they wouldn't have too difficult a time dealing with her mother, knowing them in the past. As long as they did it before that "William" character managed to haul her away. Though it would be a lie to say she wasn't in the least interested to see what this man looked like...

Faolan swung down off the horse, Stormrunner staying put. Didikai horses may not be tame, but they were well-trained. The young man motioned for Ellandra to stay put on Morningmist as he strode up to the house, ignoring Mrs. Katan for the moment. He'd had all he could stand of the woman, anyway.
"Lee, where's Lauss? Go get him and get back out here. Be quick, love," Faolan said, nudging the girl gently to go fetch her Essentic, hoping she'd have a good mind to either pack anything else she wanted to take quickly or learn to live without whatever she'd be leaving behind.

Ellandra waited fairly patiently on Morningmist - but Rhian took off, going over and perching on Lee's shoulder carefully, sensing the emotional turmoil the girl was in and wanting to help. "Don't worry, Miss Lee. Ellandra and Ellandra-husband will make it better," the flutterby said, brushing the teen's cheek with a wingtip. "I promise, it will be okay."

William's car pulled up the Katan's drive, and he peered out the window at the spectacle on the lawn, his attention suddenly taken from his appearance and placed on the two people he'd been most certainly not expecting to see here. just what was going on?!?

Faolan, normally a gentle man, rudely grabbed his wife's Essentic and pried her off Lee. "Get the ******** back on the horse with Elle, Rhian. Now." He pushed the little butterfly to her owner. "Elle, keep a hold on her. We don't need her help at the moment."
He looked back at Lee. "Go on, girl. Go get your things."

Lee blinked a few times as she looked up at the butterfly on her shoulder. And, before she could really say anything, the little essentic was thrown back to her owner. Scary Faolan. The girl bit her lip and nodded to the man before running through the group of people that had assembled in the entrance and up the stairs. Stepping into her room, her shoes tapped along as she reached Lauss' bedside. "Miss Rhian isn't here yet?" Lauss rolled over, wanting to float to her side. "Miss Lee where is your husband?" "Lauss, we gotta go." She tried her best to pick him up, but found that he was much, much heavier when he couldn't float. How was she supposed to move him with her pathetic stick arms? Holding both a Lauss, a Rosco, and a bag of belongings would be a task, indeed. "Um... Lauss, do you think you could sort of... roll your way down stairs?" "... I suppose." Lee felt ridiculous asking, but helped push in how of bed, making sure he didn't knock his wrist on the ground. The proto did his best to tumble along the ground, and Lee gathered a few essentials, along with a tiny puppy, and quickly followed Lauss out.
"Miss Lee, this will hurt. I don't want to fall down the stairs." He wasn't going to budge, and Lee regretted this whole fiasco not happening just a little bit sooner. She sighed and quickly thought for a moment, finding only one real solution. Tiptoeing down the stairs, she met with Faolan once more, fidgeting as she looked up at him apologetically. "I can't carry Lauss. He's too heavy."
Mrs. Katan, throughout all of this scene, couldn't care about the butterfly essentic fluttering past her, the woman who looked so familiar, or her daughter rushing back inside. William was here. She shook her head lightly, not quite believing this was happening. "No..." You had to be kidding. Now?! Of all the times for these pikeys to show up, it had to be when her future son in law pulled in? She had to be having a bad dream. Some sort of horrible nightmare; this couldn't be happening. Okay, stay calm, play it cool. Waving as politely as she could manage to the car rolling toward her, she put on a toothy smile for the man. Please, please don't run off.

Ellandra caught Rhian and held her close, seeing her wilt with disappointment and soothed her with low words. "There, there, flutterby, we're just in a hurry, that's all. You can help Lee later, I promise."
Rhian didn't respond, still disappointed and upset at not being allowed to help.
~*~
Hmm, so Ellandra was definitely here, then - and with that filthy pikey "husband" of hers. He climbed out of the car and ignored his former fiancee, focusing his attention on the lady of the house - well, partially, the other half of it was concerned about making sure his hair was still perfect.
"Mrs. Katan, so good to see you," he greeted, taking her by the hand and bringing her knuckles to his lips for a brief, polite greeting kiss. "Having trouble with some filth, are we?" He asked, then looked around, his gaze searching for the teenage daughter - and oh, there she was, talking to the same man who'd ruined his fifth best suit! What in the world?!?

Faolan looked back at William as the man approached. "Hey, Will." He looked away and then back, surprised. "What the hell?" He turned back to Lee. "You neglected to tell me you were marryin' that idiot. Go give Elle your things and the puppy. I'll go get Lauss."
Before the servants or anyone else could stop him, he darted through the house and up the stairs, scooping Lauss up quickly, and returned. He set Lauss down once outside and looked at Mrs. Katan. "She won't be marryin' Will, ma'am. She already promised herself to me, and I'm here to collect."

Lee did as she was told, thought she was more than a little confused. He knew this guy? How would they have ever crossed paths, she wondered. Holding her bag up to Ellandra first, she looked back at "Will". He was her supposed-future-husband? He certainly wasn't ugly, but he wasn't up to Faolan's standards. And... was that make-up he was wearing?! You're kidding... Interesting, not too terrible, but... come on. Faolan came back with Lauss, and as the proto was dropped on the ground he waved happily to Rhian. "Hello." Finally.
Mrs. Katan reached a hand out to William, accepting his kind gesture politely. "William, dear. Indeed, I am." She glared a bit at the horses and their riders before turning her attention back to him. "I hope it isn't too much of an issue. They seem to have made themselves at home already..." Faolan was such a bother, really now. Rolling her eyes, she turned to William again. "Don't bother with him. Of course, he isn't serious. He knows by now she's a taken lady." She tried to sound chipper, half mocking Faolan and half trying to tone down the situation. This couldn't get any worse, could it?
Lee couldn't help but blush at Faolan's words. Looking up at Ellandra, she bit her lip and held up Rosco, feeling terrible for the poor woman, and suddenly hating that she included her in all of this. What was she thinking...

Ellandra managed, somehow, to get Lee's things and Rosco-the-puppy - he really was a cute little thing - onto Morningmist with her, and Rhian perked up a little at th sight of Lauss, waving a cheerful hello to the other proto. She looked down at Lee, mouthed a "Don't worry, this wil all work out for the best," trusting in her husband and whatever plan he'd come up with - even if it really was marrying Lee, well. . . she didn't want the teenager trapped into a life she hated, if that meant she had to sacrifice a little of her happiness in order to prevent that, then so be it.
~*~
William shot Faolan a double-take. "What? You're here to steal ANOTHER fiancee from me, pikey?" Okay, now he was upset - he wanted to marry into the Katan's money, after all, and here was this same piece of filth trying to ruin this attempt too! He reached for a small mirror he kept in his breast-pocket and checked over his appearance.
Good, good, no smudges or cracks from hsi rather angry facial expression, and not a hair out of place. Good, good, the situation was still salvagable then.
