Lin was still casually floating around his head still scanning the crowd until it was that Hal would give Divintra more information to go off of. Actually, he gave him more then just that, and with a slight jerk of his head Divintra glanced across at the drow before him. He had met the other already? So then..there were two in that one body? Divintra's lips parted a little, then closed. What was he going to say to that? Oh how interesting? Who were you before? Divintra felt Lin land upon his shoulder and he felt a slight cool chill upon his neck as she withdrew to hide her white form within his white hair. Why would she hide like that? Divintra lifted his left hand to gently brush the tips through his white hair where he felt Lin's hiding presence. Something had to have spooked her, as she had suddenly fallen very silent.

"So then." Divintra slowly replied as he digested this information. "Your not..ah...you. I mean. The You that I see now, that is not who you truely are." Oh God...this was a test wasn't it? His fingers itched to reach for the hidden pocket where his prayer book laid hidden, to flip within it and see what it would bring up. But such a act was more folly then the actual practice itself. Divintra watched the other sit back in the seat, and now he was growing more curious himself. Should he ask for a name? Lin's usual voice did not jump up to urge or scold him at his indescion, which made up his mind for him. He would just be very careful about the questions he asked. Divintra's purple eyes fell to the third coin that he had left behind after Hal had pushed it across to him.

"That is true." Divintra would speak as he plucked the silver coin from the table and began to rub it's flat sides between his fingers. "And had you not gotten into conversation with me you may have kept all this silver in your pocket. So in this case I suppose my strangeness has rewarded me." Divintra's smile flickered at the corners of his lips as Hal would remark on his truthfulness. "In our world, I've found that being truthful holds a great power in a society bred for lies.. It has given me a unparrelled power, that of belief. When I speak, those whom listen know they need not look into my words any more deeply then they must their own thoughts. I do not try to mislead, I do not try to circumvent or decieve. In Truth I have gained a power that even the priestesses are hard pressed to contend with." A small alarmed sense made Divintra pase in his words, and his head ilted a small fracion as Lin's voice would finally speak up again in his head.

~Do not speak so casual or boastful Divintra. Particularly concerning the priestesses. Your being careless you stupid boy!~ She berated him sternly. Inwardly Divintra felt a small amount of shame, he hadn't even touched the bottle of alcohol before him and already he was speaking with fluid ease on things he best not. he straitened his posure and focused his eyes back on Hal as he would pay two more conies before him. "Only two?" He replied with a faint smile. Divintra reached across the table and placed his palm over the coins. It was as he was drawing them over into his pile that his smile died from his lips and his hand paused.

After speaking so boastfully of the truth. Pridefully really speaking of it, such a question knocked Divntra off kilter. Inside his head he heard Lin's shrill scolding voice tinted with traces of self vindication. For once Divintra found it rather easy to press that voice from his mind. Instead he looked across at the grinning Hal and tried to figure out if he had just been trapped. Had this been a set up of some sort? Was Hal here to feel him out? Pull him into easy conversation and trap him with his words? Nice day? That wasn't the question of a drow.

What did he do now? In his extended silence, he could feel lin moveing to his other shoulder. Her small whisp like hands curled around the dangling silver of his earring and she leaned towards his ear. he could almost see her in his mind yelling silently physically while her cry of 'Lie! Lie you damn proud fool!' brushed against his surface thoughts.

What did he -actually- do? Divintra curled his fingers around the silver coins. With a very intense slowness he opened his vest pocket and dropped the coins one at a time into the well cared for rothleather pouch. The small metallic clink of the falling coins felt much like a slap across his white cheek. Divintra folded the pocket closed and slipped the button back into place. He folded his hands before him on the table and lifted his gaze to fix on Hal's dual colored eyes. He did not have any prayers in effect, so he'd have to rely on his own observation and the keen eyes of the barkeep to pick up anything.

"I am a delivery boy." He replied with a careful tone. "Perhaps more correct, a Courier. I deliver messages and packages for a fee to individuals and places anywhere in the Underdark. I ask no questions concerning contents or destinations. I garuntee delivery over the sake of my own life." That...was what he did normally...

"What I actually do, is provide services to select few who are capable of secrecy. I am blessed with a very rare gift, made doubly rare by my gender. I can peer through the veil and obtain foreknowledge pertaining to individuals and actions. I can percieve true friend from foe, I can lay blessing of guidance or protection pertaining to specific actions. I can read those who seek to mislead or intend ill in their actions. I can read the true surface thoughts of those I lay hands upon. I am a Seer." Lin had fallen silent by the time he finished speaking, and Divintra's stomach felt hard and sick. His answer satified his prideful boasting and his own self indulgant desire to uphold his truthful reputation. After all, Hal had never questioned him about loyalties or religion, and being a Seer, he could just assume the gift of guidance came from Lloth. Chaos was her key element.

Divintra kept his purple gaze firm on Hal's face as he answered the final question in much the same controlled and soft voice. "Whether or not it is nice, I suspect depends on you for the moment."

Mer nodded at Divintra's words, no he was not him.....or at least not the him that had in fact been interested in the other to start with. Even to him this all got a little confusing after a while and he was the one used to having two souls. If only things could be different. He sent a quizzical look at Lin the little flying thing that was attached to Divintra as she hid away in the albino's hair. He wondered what was wrong with her.

He quirked a brow leaning forwards slightly eyes interested at the other male's words. He had a power that the priestesses were hard pressed to conten with? Now that sounded like something useful. He felt a vague stirring of what could have possibly been interest coming from within him. Hal seemed able to tell what was happening around him and it just disconcerted Mer ever more.

The sudden fall in Divintra's expression when he asked his questions surprised him. Had he asked something out of turn? Had he done something wrong, something that every drow would know not to do? He hated being trapped in a culture that was not his own it just got very confusing. Mer started to feel a little uncomfortable at the silence that was pooling out from the albino. Maybe he really had done something wrong, yet he had no idea what it could be..... He felt a slight jittering of nerves as he watched the other placing the silver in his pouch and a sense of confusion came from within him and the blankish spot where Hal normally occupied his thoughts......so Hal was confused to and it seemed he was more than a little intrigued as to what had caused the sudden change in mood. So maybe he hadn't done something horribly against custom.....Hal didn't seem to think so from what he could tell.

As the pale drow spoke Mer found himself leaning forward a little as though he would be able to hear better what the other was saying. Not that he had any problems with his hearing or anything. Ok so Divintra was a courier.....that didn't seem too bad, but he appeared to be being very serious......

What he actually did? .......wait.....so he wasn't really a courier?

.....he was a Seer?

Wasn't that something that only the females could do?

................

He blinked head jerking up slightly as Hal reacted strongly within him and a burst of......some unknown emotion flowed through him......was that.....triumph? Or was it...........amusement? He really couldn't seem to tell what his other half was thinking. Hal seemed to think this was very important news and even Mer knew it was unusual.

What was he supposed to say to that? Was he meant to react badly or something? He was surprised yes and Hal was being weird within him......very weird..... "Erm.....that's nice.......still seems like a good day to me." His tone was a little vague as his mind raced trying to think of something better to say although it was too late as he had already spoken. He was such an idiot sometimes, Hal was right.

A slight wrenching sensation filled him and he pressed a hand flat to the table surprise crossing his face as Hal suddenly tugged hard at him. This was impossible. Hal was exhausted.....what on earth was he trying to do? Pain radiated through his skull as his lips moved though the words were not his......well it wasn't his mouth really either......

"A male Seer? Interesting......very interesting could be useful to know that about you, but I'll still kill you the next time I see you."

Then the pressure vanished completely and Mer slumped slightly able to feel the drip of blood seeping from his nose. He raised a hand quickly staunching it looking a bit pale as he glanced up once more at the other male. Hal within him was blazing out a wave of happiness at the distress this was causing Mer....

For one moment Mer truly hated Hal......he had never before succumbed to feeling that way about the other. He was the intruder and he knew that, but right then at the exultation filling him and leaving a sick sensation in his stomach he truly hated the other for taking such delight in his unhappiness.

"I am so sorry....I....." He made a face whiping the blood from his face, "That was Hal he.....I don't think he likes you.....it's my fault. I shouldn't have told you that I was connected to someone else.....He doesn't like people to know about me. He wouldn't really kill you......he just....."

........dammit......the first conversation he had enjoyed since he had been trapped in Hal's body with him and the other had threatened the one he was talking to. "I'm sorry Divintra......maybe I should go......he won't be back in control for a good long while, but.....I can't be sure. He has done many things today that I was certain were impossible and he would make your life a misery.....he now knows something interesting about you and ...if you aren't careful he might try and use it against you somehow. I don't really know how he could and he probably wouldn't even think of doing it unless he saw you again I just......." He felt awful......he wasn't a drow and he took no pleasure in the manipulation and torment that they seemed to thrive on. The mere idea of a necromancer seemed wrong to him. "I'm sorry."

He guessed he must seem very undrow like now, but he didn't care. Divintra knew he was not Hal though he didn't even know his name. No one down here knew his name...he may as well not exist....damn Hal'vyll for ruining his death......

Mer stood abruptly bowing to the the other drow. "Forgive me for bothering you! I am truly sorry that I may have caused you trouble."

The next few moments left Divintra sitting on dagger tips. His purple eyes remained fixed on the male across from him, waiting with held breath for what sort of response he would recieve. Seers were so..few...so high guarded. How many times had Lin berated him for his lifestyle? A gift like his, placed in such danger when it ought to be protected in some smothering temple and put to the use of a priestess. No. No way. Divintra would not have that. He was too used to his freedom. Too used to being able to wake up in the morning and decide he was going to go out or visit another city. Not to mention the terrors he was certain to undergo with some spider priestess.

Mer's eyes blinked and his head jerked, which in turn caused Divintra to jump slightly in his seat. The words that followed were not..well... It seemed Mer did not completely grasp the seriousness of what he had just said. His shoulders relaxed a little and his fingers grew a bit lax on the table. Inwardly Lin's unhappy voice chittered, urgeing him to leave. Now. Go. get gone.... But he had to still meet with the bar owner, and Mer did not seem to understand what value there could possibly be found in his words.

In the next moment though his anxiety had returned. Mer's face reflected pain, and Divintra shifted uncertainly in his seat. The words that followed though...had Divintra pressing his chair back away from the table. Ah! Now Lin's urgings seemed far more important to heed. Even as Mer's body slumped and the trickle of blood appeared Divintra remained tense and on edge. "Of course he doesn't" He replied in a tight voice as Mer began to apologize. He already suspected there had been some sort of flip flop between the two souls, given the obvious pain and after effects. It did not mean that Divintra was going to assume that Mer was still in full control and non-threatening to him. When Mer tried to assure him that Hal would not kill him, Divintra gave a humorless giggle. He places one hand gently over his lips and tried his best not to let how deeply shaken he currently was show through.

"Yes he would. You...You can't be a drow soul if you would even try to tell me that. He would. I have no doubt. I don't need to use my powers to divine that." Of course...hearing Mer go on about what Hal could do with the information he had just aquired and the misery that could follow... He did not want to think about it. Divintra did not tell Mer to stop apologizeing, but nodded his head a little bit while balling his hands into small fists. "No may about it." He remarked with a slightly more steady voice. "Honestly. I've been expecting to be found out eventually. I just didn't think it would be my pride that would prove my undoing. I guess this will teach me to be more careful in the future..." Divintra's eyes lifted to glance across the table at Hal and he took a deeper breath to steady himself. "I mean..it's not like I can do anything right now. We are in public after all. I'm not a murderer..but I am..well...the opposite of a necromancer I suppose you could say. Anything he's done I can undo...and since there are two souls in there...If we were not in public I'm just scared enough to see if some divine intervention could do some damage in your situation. Not...not that I would mean to hurt you. But..well.." Divintra forced his shoulders to rise and fall in a relatively weak attempt to appear unconcerned. "With you in control now and the other soul obviously weak, who knows what would happen right? G-Good bye Mer. I really...hope we don't meet again."

Mer felt awful and droped his head unable to look at the other... dammit Hal! All he could feel was amusement radiating out from the other within him and he wished that he could do something to wipe that feeling away. He didn’t need to do anything though as Divintra’s words sent a slightly cold feeling through him.

The opposite of a Necromancer? He might be able to help? He would finally be able to die?

Fear filled Mer....why was he scared? He had already died once. Tension filled him from Hal who seemed almost frozen at the possibility of help coming from the other. As Divintra continued to speak though Mer felt his eyes must appear awfully round. Hal might die? With him in charge the other didn't know what might happen? No...... Hal couldn't die.

He took a step back from the pale drow and Hal was almost screaming at him to run....run now..... They could not be near someone who could threaten him so. Mer smiled slightly tensely,

“You are right I am not a drow soul......, but that also means I could not allow anything to happen to Hal’vyll. This is rightfully his body.” He picked up Hal’s staff and bowed his head once more, “Although I will tell you that you have managed to frighten him, but he now sees you as more of a threat.” He lifted one hand to wave a goodbye, “I.....I hope we don’t meet again.” He wanted to meet him again....wanted to have one person who knew of him...that he could talk to.

It wasn’t meant to be though Hal would hurt any who knew he existed and there was nothing he could do to stop it. He was the intruder in this body and he should hurry up and get himself thrown out of it. Thinking of it once more though....of finally dying again, it was strange. He had always wanted to die...to not be here, but with the real possibility of it happening....he didn’t want to die.

Mer turned away from the pale drow muttering, “Sorry...” as he hurried away from the table towards the exit. He certainly would try and make sure that Hal never came here again. Yet...he couldn’t regret meeting the rather unique male.....
