{Its fine! RL > Gaia in all cases! heart }
Although the waves generated by the stallion were rather big, Brioso couldn't help but chuckle at how much smaller they became after they reached her; it was true that she got wetter from what she thought was a rather clever attack made by Nakawara, but then again, she couldn't help but think that such an attack was never meant to be a winning attack... actually, with her character, she'll probably never admit defeat in such a game. Raising an eyebrow, her chuckles became louder, "Looks like your waves ran out of energy!"
After saying her piece, the mare stepped out of the river and took the exact same route that her friend had taken. She decided to take it slow, trotting along the river before stopping at the bank of the river near him instead of jumping in like he did. Smiling, she then shook herself, sending water droplets flying everywhere in an attempt to dry off rather than 'attack' the stallion... Of course, she chose to stand near enough to Nakawara to get water droplets all over him as well.
"Truce?" Brioso laughed, grinning as she lowered her head a little to be at eye level with him, realizing the both of them might never end the game.

He hadn't been so lucky, it seemed. As the water reached her, he was thoughtful it at least wet her already soaked ankles. But he supposed, with further thought, that his plan hadn't been so full proof. He hadn't considered the distance between where she stood at the bank and where it was deep enough to leap without injury.
"It does, doesn't it?" he groaned, splooshing a leg in the water in a huff. Although a good-natured grin slipped to his lips even as he acted in childish complaint. As she moved, his mind and gaze followed, mentally preparing him for what she could have in store. His playmate was going awfully slowly now, he could only deduce that the carelessness he sensed was part of her greater strategy. He cast a playfully suspicious glare as she eventually came to stand a bit over him, his neck straining up towards her with curiosity for a moment.
When she did finally reveal her master plan, he could do nothing but turn his head enough that the droplets only sprinkled him on one cheek. Well, maybe it really wasn't a master plan, he thought...
He laughed, lifting his chin in some attempt to make himself taller. "Truce, then!" he agreed after shaking out his mane and eventually moseying over to the shallow end again and out of the water. He took a moment to shake out further where he stood, figuring that after agreeing to a truce, he ought not stand close enough to ruin her work at getting dry.
"That was good!" he commended, trotting over to her. "It's been a while since I was able ta challenge someone skilled."

{I think we should end this soon, and plot out the rest of their relationship if you like? Our next RP will probably be after she get mauled and asks him to accompany her home. <3}
The mare grinned when he agreed to the truce, moving a few steps backwards when he shook himself dry. At his compliment, she chuckled, shaking her head, "Skilled? I didn't think water tag required much skill! Well, unless you want to count the stamina and speed it requires... I'm beat from running around!" She chuckled again, and headbutted her new friend gently on his neck, something she used to do to her brother when they were foals.
"Despite that, I think it was really cooling to play in the water, especially in this summer heat!" Brioso added quickly, looking wistfully at the river, as if she wanted to dive back in again. Looking back up at Nakawara, she continued, "I can't wait for summer to be over, although there will be less to eat once autumn arrives... Anyway, I would love to have another game with you when autumn arrives, and next time, I'll win for sure!"
She gave a huge grin, raising an eye brow almost comically. Then, her expression changed, and she blinked curiously at him; she had never seen him around before, but the mountain and forests surrounding it are so big that its not surprising for her to never have met its occupants... Then again, if he was only passing by, would he even be here when the leaves start to change color?
"So... Are you from around here?"

((Sounds like a plan!))
The muscles in his neck flexed against the touch and he swung his head to her, laughing. "All games need a bit of skill, ya know?" He nodded sagely, as if this information was something for the ages. With a life revolving around fun, Nakawara had to believe that he had grown at least somewhat skilled in the art of fooling around. Otherwise, what had be been doing all this time?
"Even with less ta eat, I love the cold months better," he told her, meaning every bit of it honestly. "I don't like ta be hot when I'm runnin'. It's not as fun." A shake of his head found a few of his still wet braids clinging to his neck. "And stuff happens like this!" He jokingly revealed, shaking again in an attempt to free his neck from the tickling hair. Of course, at least now it was water attaching mane to fur and not sweat. That was certainly unpleasant.
Grinning and quieting down, he nodded his agreement to her idea as she went along. Strangely, when her expression changed, so did his. Wrapped up in what she had been talking about, he could only imagine why she stopped. Canting his head, his eyes widened just a bit at her next question.
"Around here? Well, no, actually." A sheepish expression took over and he shook his head lightly, not wanting to muss his mane more. "I live way over in the plains. It's a bit of a walk from here. But there's a lot of room ta run, so..." It took him a moment to understand what she might be looking for in with that question, but eventually he was able to comprehend. "Oh, but-! I could come back for the season change, ya know? I don't need ta stay in one place. We gotta see if you can win, right?" He laughed. It really wasn't a big deal for him. Tied down to nothing and no one, he was quite the free spirit.

"I guess you're right about that," She shot him a grin before letting out a chuckle, "And I'll be even more skilled in the game of water tag the next time we play!" She said it half jokingly, but the competitive part of her did mean it as a sort of challenge. Besides, if they met up again for a rematch, she could see him again and keep in touch! The difficult part of leaving her home to come here, was that she left behind several family and friends. It would be nice to get some company outside of the herd now that she would be here for a long while!
"To be honest, I've never experienced autumn nor winter," She mused out loud, remembering how she thought bald trees and plentiful fruits were common sights after emerging from her basket back in spring. "I guess I'll know my preference soon enough!" Brioso ended with a laugh, referring to the fast approaching autumn.
"The plains? I used to live on the plains too! There was so much space to run in! I never had to worry about colliding with a tree or running into a bush..." She trailed off, feeling a little homesick all of a sudden. However, she quickly perked up when her new friend mentioned something about visiting again and then grinning at the mention of another round of water tag. "That's what I wanted to hear! Maybe I could go look for you one day and we can have a good old race down the plains! Despite my size, I'm quite the fast runner, you know."
Although her expression expressed cheekiness, it soon faded into a slight frown, "I think I ought to get back... Its getting late! Time sure flies when you're having fun." She paused, giving another smile; it was quite obvious that she had enjoyed herself.

"It is late..." he commented, head raising now to view the dusky colored sky through the canopy. It really was too bad. Day was never long enough! Well, it would be a lie to say he went to bed as soon as the sun set every night, but he understood they both needed time to get back to where they were comfortable before it got completely dark.
Sighing dramatically, he turned towards the path home, but certainly didn't take off right away. His slow movements looked thoughtful and he glanced around to her a few times before turning half way back.
"If you could come down for the winter..." he began strong, but started to trail off in thought. Although he grew quiet, he hardly seemed anything but glad. "If you could come down for the winter, we could race and I could show ya why winter makes for better fun." A grin stretched his already smile-tired lips as it had many times since they met today. The idea of sharing what was so great about his favorite season with a friend who had never experienced it was an exciting one. In fact, his antsy muscles had front hooves clopping at the ground already, quite a few months in advance.
"But before that--before it gets too cold--I can come back up here."
His head bobbed a bit, as if he had completely decided. "Or ya know... if we need ta change something, we can." His expression grew momentarily sheepish again. Anticipation had him ready and willing to make all the plans for them, but he knew it would be best to slow down and make sure his ideas were alright with her plans. Being a little too pushy was one of his weaknesses.

The female stood still as he walked away, a smile playing on her lips. When he turned around to talk, she almost said 'I knew it!' but refrained herself. After all, he wasn't the type to just walk away without as much as a 'goodbye'.
"Winter, huh?" Brioso mused out loud, her voice fading into silence as she paused, wondering if her mentor would object to her visiting a friend occasionally next season. It would be her first winter and its not like she would be playing truant! Besides, whatever Nakawara had planned sounds intriguing... She chuckled softly to herself; knowing her new friend, it would surely be a fun race. Giving a grin, she nodded without any signs of hesitation, "Sure, why not? I think it'll be fun! Besides, its warmer down here than up the mountain."
At his next comment, she raised an eye brow, "Well, I've heard that near winter, these slopes become increasingly cold. By the time winter is officially here, it'll be freezing... Besides, it might be dangerous." She paused again, deep in thought, "So I think its best if I go down instead of you coming up. Better safe than sorry, after all!"
Giggling, she shook her head, indicating that she didn't want to change the plans, "We'll follow your plan; just make sure not to make your way up these slopes too close to winter."

"Great!" There was a bit too much enthusiasm to his voice, perhaps. Enough to wake any poor animal that had decided to go to bed before the sun dipped below the horizon. It was hard to keep from sounding excited. He had made loose plans to meet with one or two of his other few friends in the past, but had yet to see them much. The fact that Bri had agreed with his partially specific idea meant that they were more likely to go through with it soon. For as much as he ran alone, he preferred the thought of having a companion.
"I'll make sure ta come back up only a few days after I notice the leaves changing. It shouldn't be too cold by then." He lifted his gaze to the peaks of the mountains, somewhat visible through the treetops. He really didn't have knowledge of this place, but he trusted her judgment. "We can decide when you'll come down then, too. There definitely has ta be some snow on the ground, at least!" He laughed.
"Be sure ta come closer to the base of the mountains and meet me so I don't get lost." He grinned, turning away with real intent to part this time. He didn't want to keep her too long now that they had made their decisions. "See ya soon, Brioso!" It was nice to say farewell knowing that autumn was not too far in the future.
