Namini would have been surprised as to what was going through her Romeo’s head. It consisted of an astounding… nothing. It was not romance swirled or festooned with idealistic desires like Namini’s thoughts. All he knew was that he had wanted a kiss and now he was frozen in his seat half horrified. Was he some kind of monster? Did his breathe smell fetid or something? Now he was now alone save for the two floating half torsos beside him, instead of sucking face with the girl he wanted most. He did not like this situation. Not at all. The boy had seen the girl rush out of the theater. She tucked her tail between her legs and ran like a cowering dog. Josh groaned.

What had he done?

Josh waited a few seconds later before he got up and followed suit with Namini. He left the theater in a rush of confused hormones and unrequited lust just like her. He spotted the girl at the concession and approached her uncertainly. He felt like some kind of zombie that was trying to rip her face off; girls tended to run away from things like that. He spoke with a nervous, wavering tenor. “Are you e-enjoying the movie?”

LuLu was too absorbed in her conversation with Prajna to notice her guardian leaving. She would have to curse her narrow field of attention later. The rabbit furrowed her brows and huffed in a grand display when the star was done presenting his argument. This raevan was actually protesting her request?! This same raevan was trying to earn her trust. How ridiculous.

LuLu stated curtly, “Prajna says nice things,” she frowned, “But that is not proof of trust. Star now”

"Thank you" Namini murmured to the cashier as he handed her her soft drink. Immediately, the brunette began sucking down on the fizzy beverage, the slight burn in her throat a sweet distraction to her thoughts. Slurp slurp slurp! Finally, the teen let out a soft sigh of contentment, filled with cool carbonation. I wonder what I should do now.. Namini thought, bending and unbending her straw. That's when she heard a soft metallic groaning and then...footsteps. She lifted her gaze to meet Josh's and immediately, the fear was back. The fear of uncertainty, the fear of indecision, the torn feelings between lust and genuine lov--

"Josh," came Namini's soft response. She hadn't noticed it before, but she straightened her posture, unknowingly having turned into a defensive crouch away from the boy. Walking over to the nearest trash can, she proceeded to stall until it was inevitable..She threw her cup away and then turned back to face Josh. The blood was rushing to her face again and Namini wished Josh was smart enough to figure out the feelings, the things she wanted herself that even she didn't even know for certain. She tried to smile. A weak smile broke through.

"To be honest Josh, I haven't been paying attention to the movie. I mean, I've caught a really funny scene once or twice but...um.." She was choking now. A stinging sensation flooded her eyes and she tried to clear her thoughts. What was she trying to say or ask again? Definitely something unrelated to the movie, that was for sure but what..what..

"Josh, were we about to kiss?" Namini asked meekly.

Prajna's eyes were glued to Josh's disappearing silhouette and, while listening to Lulu's ridiculous demands, waited until it was clear to begin its response. A smug smile played across its lips as it glared down at Lulu, "You know, ugly bread girl says UGLY things. Stars are of Prajna, know that, Ugly? ONLY for Prajna. Why give stars to thing like YOU? No. No. Never. Not when dead or alive. Now.."

The Frei raised itself out of its seat and made its way roughly past Lulu, flapping its wings rudely in her face as it took Josh's freshly emptied seat. The smirk widened as Prajna continued its insults, settling into the warm seat, "Lulu also never get trust from Prajna. Prajna -it stuck its tongue out at her- never give thing of it to STUPID girl never. So, HA."

LuLu peered at Prajna with a look of shock. Her lavender orbs were growing wider and more startled with each word that tumbled past their tin, white lips. The second Josh had left the frei’s personality had done a complete 180. The rouse was over and the star’s sweet mask was tossed away carelessly. The insults flew like daggers and Lulu has no protector.

The rabbit fought off the urge to growl and return the verbal assault. No. She could not do that. She had no guardian right now. That would have been a stupid move.

The female frei rose from her seat with a huff. She stretched her pointed wings with a faint crunch, one nearly knocked over Prajna’s hat. She turned to him with a smile playing on her rosy lips, “Prajna is worse than ugly. No one will ever give trust to a rude crow. It is alone.” With that she floated off. It was a grand exit that disguised her desired to leave her enemy and find Josh again.

Josh had said he had wanted a drink, but he found himself far too distracted by the girl in front of him. He could not will himself over to the clerk. He noticed how s he had nearly flung herself away from him when he had arrived. Now she had begun to walk to the trash can. Where she waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Josh swore he even saw Namini paced around the receptacle a few times before she managed to part with her emptied cup. So… she was avoiding him. The boy felt a pain play a tragic tune on his heart strings. It showed in his face when his lips twitched into a faint frown. When she smiled at him, a pitiful expression lacking any true happiness, another strong chord played in his chest. He felt overwhelmed. Josh’s voice came out as a squeak, “I am sorry. I … I should not have invited you like thi-” He was cut off by an abrupt subject change. Or perhaps, it was the topic that was underlying everything that they had done this night.

"Josh, were we about to kiss?"

The boy felt color flood into his cheeks. Blushing was like a virus and both teens were held tightly in its grasp. Josh felt tightness in his chest that restricted his voice. The faint squeak he had possessed now faded into a choked intake of air. He dropped his gaze from her. He could not look into those blue pools without drowning. He felt himself growing isolated from her. His senses were restricted. Sight, speech, touch… they were all gone now.

No. It should not be like this.

Josh’s mind went ablaze. He would not let it end this way. Uncertainty was not a feeling the boy liked. He leaned in and allowed their lips to brush. One… two… three seconds passed. He parted from her. A fierce flush covered his face.

Prajna felt its hat push against its crimson hair ever so lightly and it smirked, a victorious expression if there ever was. It had been right: Without that weak weak boy, the tanned fool was nothing. Even as she insulted the Star right back, the words were quickly and easily deflected. There was no real power behind them, at least not as Prajna saw them, and so the flame felt smug. Oh but no, it would not let it end here. Though its point was proven, its assumptions validated, this was not over. With its frozen blues digging their way into the back of Lulu's head, Prajna up and followed the female Frei. She would not escape it. No, not when it had her at her most vulnerable. Just as she was about to push open the doors towards the lobby, with a sudden burst of determined speed, Prajna cut her off, frowning now, "Where Lulu goes? Boy will not save YOU. "Rude crow" hm? No. Not alone. Has Lulu."

Prajna grabbed one of Lulu's wrists and pushed itself against her, digging its nails into her skin. It hissed dangerously in her ear, "Has lot of nerve, stupid girl. Think Prajna is stupid, is weak like you? NO. You will see trouble now."

Namini watched in fear as Josh's eyes dropped to the floor, refusing to make any form of connection with hers. Instinctively, she reached a caring hand outward, though did not touch him. She then quickly drew the hand back to her side out of bashfulness. Maybe she had just assumed too much. The last moments were all hazy anyways, blurred by hormones and all the things she wanted or thought she wanted and, perhaps even, idealized over.

But that's when every thought racing threw her mind was thrown out the window. Warm, soft...lips? Lips! They were pressed against hers, not forcefully at all though she had been taken by surprise, but gently, genuinely. Time seemed to slow, allowing days, weeks, centuries to pass before Josh finally pulled away, allowing Namini to inhale sharply. The thoughts raced once again before another simple one made itself clear,

"Did you just kiss me?"

LuLu could feel Prajna’s eyes on her. The rabbit had developed a sixth sense for these things. The star’s presence was so intense that she could even envision the sensation of their breathe tickling across her back. They were so close. Her shoulders gave a slight shiver as she floated to the double doors, twin symbols of freedom, symbol that were soon closed off by a diamond patterned chest.

LuLu’s soft purple eyes shot up frantically to pierce into Praj’s blue ones. Those crystalline orbs loomed like a predatory animal over her. In a matter of seconds Praj decided to strike.

The rabbit frei let out a weak squeal as she was held firmly against a wall. Praj’s face was right near hers. Its breath was cold as it washed over her cheek. It was a stark contrast the searing pain spreading through her wrist due to the other frei’s sharp nails.

LuLu felt defenseless. She felt… useless. Her instincts demanded that she run; however, she thought there was no way she could pry herself from this bird winged behemoth. She was now caught. Even if she did manage to escape, where would she go? The rabbit’s wings gave a few timid pumps before she turned her face to meet Praj’s hostile stare. The look was so aggressive… so… victorious.

No. No. No. No. No. No. No.

Something in LuLu’s fragile mind snapped. Her psyche had been thrown for a loop. She was royalty. She was supposed to be lavished and loved. She was supposed to win.

A princess NEVER lost.

LuLu NEVER lost.

She felt an ache in her chest. It radiated from her rune and diverged into her lungs and heart. The bunny could feel her breathing quicken like some sort of adrenaline rush had took hold of her. The purple light gave of a stronger glow that lit the two up in an eerie lilac hue.

The girl’s instincts for flight had failed her. Now her instincts for fight seemed to be kicking in. Her slim fingers reached up and tangled themselves in the scruff of Praj’s wing. They rested there for a moments, weaving themselves deeper and deeper into the black mass before she pulled. The rabbit was rewarded with a small fistful of black feathers. LuLu growled faintly as she took any chance to push the star away. The girl retorted with a foul bark, “I know Prajna is stupid and weak! Praj is lower. Not worth time!” With a final smirk she stated, “Praj IS alone.”

Things were heated up between both couples.

Josh’s once settled mind was humming with activity yet again. Namini’s question almost did not register with him. The boy felt a buzz forming from his actions, almost as if he was drunk on… love. His lips upturned, just barely, before he spoke, “Sh-should I kiss you again? … Just to be sure.”
PostPosted: Sun Nov 01, 2009 11:40 am

Prajna inhaled sharply, before biting hard on its lower lip, resisting a scream. Its face contorted in pain as Lulu's firm grip ripped out a few of its charcoal colored feathers. The azure eyes moved swiftly from the handful of torn feathers to the rabbit's smug expression, the feathers to Lulu's smirk, the feathers to... A frown etched its way into Prajna's androgynous features, producing a dark look, one a person who envision some kind of serial killer or kidnapper having. One of deep, dangerous thought. So things had taken an unfortunate turn of events. So what? Prajna didn't mind a challenge and this way, Namini couldn't get too mad at it for acting up; Lulu started it, the witch.

"Prajna will make Lulu EAT those words and black of Prajna," Prajna's voice rumbled in the back of its throat before it took a lunge at the female, placing a solid slap across her smooth cheek. It would make sure she left this theater the ugliest thing ever, even if that meant the Star would float away with a few missing feathers.

Namini couldn't help but let out a small yelp of surprise, the blush returning with a vengeance. So they had kissed...A soft smile crept onto the girl's lips as she tried to think of a witty response. Nope, nothing. She broke out into a melodic laugh as she shrugged playfully, "Only if you really want to."

LuLu almost managed to get out the words 'bring it' before the flame lunged at her. She dodged to the side, guided by her instincts, just in time to get a ring clad hand in her face. Thankfully that was the only thing that hit her. The ice cold slap bit into her warm skin like a knife. She clutched the stinging flesh with her palm then quickly counter attacked the other frei. Two brown arms reached out lightening fast and ripped at Praj's back. They grabbed for whatever they could hold. Feathers, clothing, hair. Nothing was safe from those quick, nimble fingers.

LuLu made a few soft squeaks of rage; however, no other words slipped from her mouth.

Now was a time for action.

Josh agreed.

The boy grinned, a genuine curl of his lips. "I would love to." He leaned in again.

Prajna let out a stream of intangible curses as it felt the rabbit's long fingers dig deep into its shirt, wings and hair. A mild set-back! A temporary disadvantage! As the female tore aggressively at whatever she could put her hands on, Prajna decided to turn the tables. Since Lulu had intertwined herself with Prajna's back, she was definitely within arm's length and her front was vulnerable. The flame turned quickly, ignoring the pain it felt searing from the spots where Lulu's tugging hands occupied and took another swing at the girl's face, this time its hand curled into a more feral shape. Prajna smiled dangerously, ear to ear, as it felt its pathetic human-like nails make contact with Lulu's dark features. Instinctively on contact, the Star pressed its nails deeper and then pulled, all the while keeping a heavy pressure on the girl's face. If she wanted to go all out, so would Prajna. It would make sure this girl learned something before the night was over. The redhead hissed as its fingers left the girl's face, the throbbing in its back growing now.

This time, Namini met the boy half way, her lips forming the cutest U-shape as hers brushed against his. The second kiss was just as magical as the first, maybe even more so since she was aware of it now. As they broke away a second time, the brunette couldn't help but giggle, fluttering her eyelashes in the most girly manner, "I'm glad you feel that way."

That's when reality decided to settle back in. Namini watched curiously out of the corner of her eye as some of the workers gathered near the concession stand, whispering among themselves. Something about a fight?

LuLu's agitated squeals turned into pained wales as Praj's nailed dug into her smooth cheek. The blunt edged appendages tore haggardly into their target, rather than slicing. A bit if skin was taken with the star's brutal attack. However, LuLu had use their sudden proximity to also land a few deciding blows. She had torn an impressive amount of glossy black feathers from Praj's back. They littered the ground in a few tidy piles around the bickering raevans. She stared at the bald patches she had left with delight. A few thin scratches finished off the ensemble, courtesy of her natural manicure.

Her eyes smiled at her handiwork.

The girl finally took the opportunity to unravel herself from Prajna. She recoiled away from the flame as quickly as she had lunged at it, like a child snapping away from a hot stove. LuLu made sure to take a small chunk of hair with her though. A few strands of ebony speckled crimson wound around the rabbit's fingertips.

She backed away from the other frei slowly. Her ears were standing on end, ready to pick up any sign of another attack. Likewise, her eyes never once left the star. The rabbit soon found her back pressed against the handle of the exit. She floated further until she had heard the door emit a soft 'click'.

She was home free.

The raevan floated in a straight bee's line out of the theater.

Josh chuckled gleefully. His eyes were lost in his companion's. It was as if those aqua orbs had transported him to another world. Nevertheless, the sound of whispering and screaming began to tear him out of his fond daze.

He had looked away from Namini and their passionate kissing session just in time to see his half beaten raevan fluttering out of the cinema. The boy choked out a hoarse whine as he let himself push past Namini, "L-Lu!!!" He cried out worriedly as he hurried over to her.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:11 pm

"Lulu?" Namini mewed before her expression quickly dropped its blissfulness and distorted itself into one mixed with fear and maternal worry. "Prajna!"

Her legs still weak from the affectionate exchange that had occurred just moments ago, Namini stumbled forward until Josh pushed past her towards his charge. It was that small nudge that kicked Namini's body into gear. She bolted, past Josh and Lulu, back into the theater. People had begun to exit now, some still laughing and discussing the movie, some..with a disgusted look on their faces. Those with the worried glances made Namini's heart skip a few beats.

"Prajna?!" the teen managed to scream, her eyes frantic. She should never have left. She should never ever have left! How stupid could she b-- Azure eyes widened as they finally caught a glimpse of familiar redness. She approached slowly at first, her eyes still adjusting to the darkness, before managing a final sprint. Prajna had floated into the back of the theater, to the furthest spot away from the exit, the closest seat to the movie projector.

"Prajna! Baby, I'm so sorry. Oh my gosh, Prajna. Prajna? Please, say something" Namini pleaded as she stroked her companion's porcelain cheek. That's when she got a full view of the wounds. Prajna's bangs seemed a mess, some of the black missing from the sides, creating new awkward jaggedness, while its wings..seemed nearly bare. There were soft scratches in the flesh that was revealed and Namini couldn't hold back a gasp. This sharp inhale of breath caused her charge to stir.

Soon, Prajna's piercing blues found their way to Namini's. Its expression was hard to read. Its lips were tight together, almost as if sewn shut, while its eyes looked like they were on the verge of tears. Despite all of this, there was still a smug air around the flame. Namini furrowed her brows together and threw her arms around Prajna's shoulders, careful not to touch the wings, "I'm so sorry Prajna. Hate me, please. I'm..never going to let this happen to you again."

Prajna let out a soft sigh, though it seemed to be an agitated one, and soon it was pushing the girl away from it. It looked tired now.

"No need. But will kill Lulu later. When time says 'yes'," the Frei announced, wincing as it tried to move. Yes, once it got better control of its powers, once it got stronger, it would make sure Lulu got what she deserved. For now, she was granted nothing but a temporary escape.

Josh ran over and scooped up LuLu in one fluid motion to examine the disheveled raevan. His hands smoothly gripped under her armpits and he brought her ribbon completely off the ground along with the rest of her. The rabbit frei burst into a fit of scratching and flailing as he did so. When she saw the tattered end of fabric, beaten and torn from nearly a year of dragging on the floor, it caused all her feelings of anxiety to resurface. The frei growled in her shrill voice, “Put me down!”

The hand to the face was just another incentive for the boy to obey her.

Josh dropped LuLu back onto the tile and stepped away to let her regain her composure before he lost an eye. He took a different approach when he tried to inspect her again. The boy knelt down and awkwardly waddled his way over to her. LuLu seemed a bit more comfortable with this method. Her fur had started to smooth down once more. Her eyes followed Josh’s hand as it brushed over her quickly. The boy mentally took note of her injuries. Her face was the only thing noticeably hurt. There was a ragged scratch, but it was nothing that would not heal over in a few days.

When the boy was certain that his frei had sustained no other harm, he rose from his knees. “Lu, go sit over there. Do not move. I am going to ask for a bandaid or something.” The raevan reluctantly obliged. She had just gone through hell to find Josh and now he was isolating her again! The frei would have refused the order if not for the fact that he had given the promise of dressing her wounds… and unwittingly giving her attention. LuLu floated to the small cushioned chair, fluttering her wings as she did so. Once she sat down, she groomed herself to pass the time. The rabbit delicately lifted away a few strands of left over red hair and a wayward black feather caught in her own blond tresses. Josh froze. It had just occurred to him what must have happened.

She got into a fight with Prajna.

The boy stumbled through the theater doors and barreled down the dimly lit isle. He almost missed the couple in the dark room. A glimpse of brown hair caused him to stop and approach the back of the theater. Josh saw the girl he had been kissing just moments before clinging to her half mauled raevan. Josh felt a lump form in his throat.

How could he have let this happen?

The boy walked over and whispered hesitantly to the two, “Is there anything I can do?” In the back of his mind a venomous voice snapped, ‘You and your raevan have done enough already.’
PostPosted: Tue Nov 03, 2009 4:54 pm

"Prajna, don't--" Namini stopped mid-thought. Scolding was not what her companion needed right now. What Prajna needed was medical attention, rest and compassion, only one of which Namini could offer at the moment. A delicate hand tenderly stroked the disheveled red bangs again before Namini's lips found a safe place to rest against Prajna's forehead. The Frei remained motionless, the scowl still on its features. "Again..I am so very sorry Prajna. I'll call David and we'll be home shortly. I..can you tell me what happened or would you like to rest first?..Prajna?"

Namini's eyes widened at the sudden change in Prajna's body language. Its ruined wings flared out, shaking like leaves struggling to hang on to a tree's branches in the dead of winter, as they were forced to hold their intimidating pose. The brave Star continued to fight openly expressing whatever horrendous pain it was experiencing through its facial features, though, suddenly, the vibrations in its wings doubled. That's when Namini's hidden maternal instincts revealed themselves. The brunette shifted her weight instantly, pinning the surprised Frei between her back and the wall, angry tears welling up in her eyes.

"Lulu! That's--" The teen choked on the overwhelming tears. That face..it wasn't the dark blonde's. Instantly, Namini dropped her dangerous gaze, replacing it with one of shame. Nonetheless, the brunette held her defensive pose. Josh didn't look mad but who knew just how much he was holding back in front of her? No! No! Josh wasn't like that.. Namini's mind raced between suspicions and unstable ideals. He was her friend..

“Is there anything I can do?”

This was too much. Namini tightened her eyes shut, trying to stop the streams of tears coming from them, but it was a fruitless effort. Suddenly, there was a pressure coming into her back. Prajna's eyes seemed to be searching Josh's face, though its overall expression still remained blank.

"Where is she?" came the solemn response as the blackened wings finally lowered in defeat. The pain had been too much, even for Prajna.

Josh flinched as Prajna spoke to him. The words tumbled out of the star’s mouth and formed into a demand, most likely the first one of a long series. It was very characteristic of the black winged raevan. They had lost yet they still wanted more. Josh felt a shiver run down his spine. The way Prajna’s androgynous voice crackled with hidden pain sounded eerie to the boy. Why did they still want to fight? Did Prajna have that much pride? In the back of Josh’s mind he could not help but think that, in some ways, Prajna reminded him of himself. He had not wanted to back down either when he had that fight with David. Josh stooped down and whispered at the frei, “Do not worry about her right now.” As though the raevan had heeded his words, it began to relax. Josh watched as Prajna drifted off into a much needed rest, “I am sorry.”

Josh knew he was not the one who should have been giving the apology. He was not the one who had tried to tear the raevan’s wings off. Nevertheless, Josh could not help but feel and overwhelming guilt and sense of responsibility. He had failed to control LuLu and now she had done something horrible. The boy brush a hand over Namini’s shoulder, "I'll get him." The least Josh could do was help get Prajna out of the theater. As an afterthought he asked, “…. Are you calling David?” Josh could not help but grimace at the idea. As if her brother didn’t hate him enough. This was not going to help their relationship.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 03, 2010 3:37 pm

Namini flinched at the mentioning of her brother. What was David going to think about this? Yes, her brother did not get along very well with her charge but, what would he be feeling more: amusement that Karma finally got Prajna back for all those times it had misbehaved or a greater hatred towards Josh for letting such a thing come to something Namini cared so profoundly for? Who could predict what David would do? Namini pulled out her dainty pink cell phone and tapped it against her forehead, the cool metal feeling quite nice against the increasing throb beneath her skin. Finally, letting out a sigh, Namini turned her doe-like eyes back to her friend and smiled, "I'll probably put off calling him until I can get Prajna a little more presentable..maybe it would be best too, if you and Lulu left first."

Namini lowered her eyes to Josh's feet, squeezing her Frei's delicate and cold fingers. Prajna's frown deepened as its icy blues became narrow slits. The hatred it was feeling towards Lulu was slowly transitioning to one for Josh. Lulu was his. He should have let Prajna beat her up. Now Namini was sad because this boy had not watched his ugly creature. Prajna summed up the rest of its anger and then..stuck its tongue out at the boy. It was all the Frei could manage at the moment.

Josh's mouth opened and closed a few times deepening the awkward silence forming around them. The boy was trying desperately to fish just the right words out of his head. However, those words were not to be found. He felt that he was beyond remorse filled sentences now. Apologies had been exchanged. As much as it hurt to admit, there was nothing left to say. Namini had put it best.

He and LuLu had done enough here today.

The boy's fists clenched. His knuckles turned a ghastly shade of white that nearly match the blank movie screen. This was the worst feeling he could have ever imagined; having the girl of his dreams so close and then upsetting her so much all in one night. He knew this event would put a halt on any progress they had made tonight... if she did not end up hating him. Josh felt an unwanted warmth well in his eyes. The boy spun on his heel before Namini or Prajna could see the way his face was twisting with an ugly mix of anger and sadness. His back now faced his first love and the thing that stood between them: one perfectly mauled raevan.

Josh walked off before he even had a chance to notice Praj's insulting gesture.

Once in the lobby of the theater, the teen rocketed along a straight path towards his own frei like a bulleting locomotive. He grabbed LuLu by the arm and tugged her along. The rabbit gave a startled peep and was about to give protest to the action when she saw the gravity in her guardian's eyes. Josh reclaimed his voice long enough to say one thing, "We will talk when we get home." He stormed out of the theater with LuLu in tow.

It was a horrible end to his once perfect night.
