Brighten followed and heard the noise. What was it? He wasn't sure it was a monster, but then maybe it was. He swam a bit slower and got closer, but started to feel the pull of the waterfall. "Hey!" He didn't like this and grabbed a rock to hold on to. "It's sucking me in it's mouth!" How was he to get away from the monster?

"Uh oh!" Lillison shouted, she hadn't even noticed how much easier it had gotten to swim. "Swim away." Lillison tried to look to see if the boys flashlight shined on anything but there was nothing to see, she turned around and tried to swim away, but she was only being dragged backwards so she settled on grabbing a rock. "What we do" she whined.

"I dunno!" He grunted as he felt his grip start to loosen. "Can your fishies help us?" Maybe they could pull them away from the pull of the water-monster? He hoped anyway, he wasn't strong enough to pull himself out.

"No, I stronger swimmer" Lillison told him, her fish companions had nested themselves in her hair to avoid being swept away. Even though she was a stronger swimmer then them, she still wasn't strong enough. "Ahhh!!" she screamed as her fingers slipped from the rock and she was sucked back and tossed around in the currents of the waterfall.

Brighten nodded and tried to stay on the rock, when he watched her get swept away. "No!" He cried! He let go and got swept away himself, he wasn't sure what he was thinking, but she couldn't get eaten by herself, especially when it was his fault.
Brighten was thrown against rocks as he caught up to her. He then grabbed her tail, as it was all he could reach, and then another rock. "Hold on!" Now what?

Lillison felt the boy tug on her tail, and thought that she had been bitten by the monster perhaps now. She swished around in the water until the currents eventually cycled her to the surface of the water, where the water was not being churned. She swam, enjoying the freedom, thats when she noticed Brighten again. "I think he spat us up, we must not taste good." Lillison was very pleased with that. She could still hear the roar, though it sounded different above the water, she looked and saw the waterfall.

Brighten was swished up to the surface as he held onto her tail. He popped up and spit out her tail. "Sorry." He mumbled about biting her, he had only done it to hold on. He nodded and then saw the waterfall, "Let's get away from him." The monster-thing was not nice.

"Wait, wait... you think monster?" she asked him. It looked awfully pretty to her, she wasn't sure what to think of the waterfall. "Are you okay?" she asked him, that had been real scary being tosses around like that.

"Yeah..." He said as he looked at the dangerously beautiful waterfall. His yeah had two meanings, one that he was ok and two that the waterfall was her monster. "That was scary..." He didn't like to admit it, but it was.

Lillison frowned and looked at the waterfall. "It doesn't look so bad to me, maybe that's not the monster... maybe it fought the monster away and saved us!" Lillison said hopefully. She nodded her head, it had been scary she hadn't been sure if they'd ever be able to get out, and was happy they did.

Brighten looked around not sure which answer was right. Could the monster be gone. He then grabbed a leaf and let it float toward the waterfall. "Maybe the monster will get it?"

Lillison watched as the leaf floated towards the waterfall and then got ripped to shreds as it was beaten by the falling water. "Well there goes that tear-y..." she admitted as she gulped, that could have easily happened to them, "well, you've seen the monster, lets gets out of here." she suggested.

"Whoa!" Brighten's eyes widened as the leaf was torn up. "Yeah, that's a good idea." He said as she suggested them leaving. He swam in the opposite direction. "Do you know a good place to go?" Maybe she knew a fun place in the lake to explore.

Lillison shook her head, she didn't think it'd be a good idea for her to suggest anyplace else since she had wanted to explore up there and it turned out to be a monster. "I'm bad at picking places..." she said sadly as she followed behind him.

"That's true!" He laughed and then led them to the middle of the lake. "Do you want to explore the lake?" He asked her as he didn't know any cool places yet, maybe they could find one instead.
