(( *Continues waiting on Bolt, so that the poor eccentric lad can like... thing.*
Taki, ma boy. What's with the weapon?
[ It was a steell ring with blades at different ends. ]
That give me the picture of Sasuke's Windmill Shuriken from Naruto... xp
[ The ring was colored black with a gold picture of a japanese war god in the middle. ]
Though that implies that the 'ring' is filled, so it's more of a disc than a ring... xp
[ He held it in his right hand and could wield it like a two-hander. ]
And that just confuses me... eek ))

I think he means it's like a double-bladed sword, except instead of a handle, there's a ring. And instead of being completely empty, there's an emblem of a god on it.))

(( Oddness...
And eatnukes said that he was standing off to the side observing... though if you absolutely must wait for him, then why are you holding off on posts directed at me because of him?
You said yourself, the lizardmen wouldn't let more than one fight at a time take place... so there'd be no reason why one fight could take place while the other one was waiting on a responce.
From his post it didn't seem like he was intending to interfere with anything between me and you, and I'd doubt that since ma' boy doesn't even know he's there, then the boy would like... go out of his way to involve him somehow.
...rambling.
Just that if you get an eight person turn order going, this will take months. Trust me, I've done it. It'd be best to get the one on one things out of the way quick before it BECOMES an eight person turn order... because some people just don't get on often enough, or at the same times, and one post per day doesn't tend to get things moving too fast. ))

((I've done it too, TMJ.. it's just I want to be fair. This is a Team Monster match after all, and if it's your turn you could take the bullet for other people or whatever.. it's really about team work. The Lizards aren't very team-based, but a team-based team could beat them easily.
I've said team too much. sweatdrop
And mostly.. it's because... well... uh....
Ah, screw it.. I hate when you're right. crying )) _____________________________________
The lizard the boy charged at looked surprised to see him. It was as if he was almost scared. The other lizard, who was supposed to be his to battle, quickly ran over to attempt to tackle the boy. He made a honking noise, as if saying, "You coward!"
The lizard that stepped forth and waved for the swordsman looked bored, he turned his gaze to the other newcomer. The one that said "yo". This lizard, while appearing exactly the same as the others, readied his sword and shield, showing a courage that the others seemed to lack. He then seemed to call out the warrior Takachiro.
Over it all, the Gold Dragon watched. None of the warriors showed true potential, but no matter. Soon it would be time, and this petty event would give birht to a powerful entity summoned from the depths of the earth. The Gold Dragon was going to come, and he was just waiting for the souls to power his arrival. He needed seven.

The other lizard, who was supposed to be his to battle, quickly ran over to attempt to tackle the boy. He made a honking noise, as if saying, "You coward!" (( Most people tend to say that. razz )) The boy heard the grunt clearly enough, and even if he hadn't already been keeping in eye on that one, specifically, he for sure knew that the creature wasn't satisfied with his new choice for a target. Though, to the simpleminded boy, it just meant that he was on the right track. "...NOT YOU! stare " The boy drove his right foot into the ground, leaning back to keep his balance as his shoe skidded over the loose dirt on the surface. His grip tightened on the staff in his hands and the boy bent his knee a bit to absorb the recoil from the stop; and then... he... stood there. He just stood there and waited with his back to the charging lizardman as the creature bore down on him.

The lizard-man DID run directly into the boy. THe one that was afraid decided to charge as well. The man had thrown his honor, so he would as well. It was two against one.

Which put the narrator in quite an interesting position... because, as he sat there and stared at the screen for a moment, he wondered if his post had been considered as an invitation, or as giving the opponent an opportunity to get close enough to make an attack. After scratching his head for a moment, watching through the commercials on TV, and getting up to take a piss, he then sat back down and set to work on a post.
As for the boy... well, he had been watching over his right shoulder as the creature covered the remaining ground; specifically keeping his eye on the creature's sword arm (assuming this to be the right arm). If the creature would have caught him from the side while he was running, the boy would have been put in a disadvantegeous position, but by stopping, he put himself in a better position to fight back.
When the creature came within eight feet or so, the boy shoved off from the ground with his right foot; the leg still bent in preparation for such a thing. He shifted his weight onto his left leg and rolled onto the ball of his left foot; pivoting himself around it counterclockwise from the push. The boy turned his head back the other way, giving a stern glance at the lizardman even as his center of balance tipped back towards his right foot, which was coming down on the other side from where it had been before.
The boy pulled his left hand back quickly, gripping the end of the staff in hand, and swung out and down with his right, which was at the center of the quarterstaff. Bringing his right foot down from the spin with a broad step to the side, the boy was aiming the end of the staff towards the back of the creature's neck; trying to get behind the lizardman with his step and with the five foot reach he had with the weapon, he was already beginning to take his eyes off of the creature to look back to the one who had seemed to scared.

((Does it make a difference? Either way, the boy was charged at.))
The lizard-man who had attacked the boy was confused, his mind drifted as he saw a weapon flying towards his neck. He held up his sheild and blocked with his left arm. His right arm was underneath and in no position to counterattack at the moment.
The second lizard-man, who was at first afraid of the boy, charged in full force.

(( It does to me, sorta... I feel like I failed to point out that he was taking a stance in preparation, rather than just waiting to be tackled or something. ...not that it should ever be considered that way, really. xp ))
The boy was pushed backwards a bit, his balance thrown off when his attack collided with the lizardman's shield rather than squishies. He tipped backwards on his right foot, and had to step back with his left to catch himself... though only for a moment before he pushed off with his toe and stepped forewards again; throwing his left hand out and letting go of the end of the quarterstaff, while loosening his grip on it with his right and letting the smooth wood slide another two feet down it. His hand tightened again, and he twisted his wrist quickly, pulling the quarterstaff in under his arm, and then dropping his elbow down over it to pin the weapon against his side.
Leaning forwards onto his left foot, the boy quickly thrust his left hand across his body, against the inside of the quarterstaff, so that the newly extended end would swing out; of course, it was aimed... As the top end had been aimed for the back of the creature's neck, his fast shift of grip upon the weapon pointed the bottom end towards the lizardman's left leg. The boy threw his weight counterclockwise, holding tight onto the staff as he swung at the creature's leg, trying to sweep it out from under it and unbalance the beast... either way, however, he'd already put hismelf in motion, and in another moment he would slam his left shoulder squarely into the center of the lizardman's shield.
(( Man... I'd go faster and less technical with these things, but like... I'm watching TV and want to keep my train of thought. razz ))

The weapon was swift, there was no way for the lizard-man to block, since his vision was also a bit obscured. He tripped backwards, stumbling back a bit and then something struck his sheild. He didn't see what it was, but he felt a push forceful enough to cause him to fall backwards and his his head on the ground. His thick skull protected his tiny brain.
The other lizard-man charged in, but when he saw the first lizard get beat down to the ground, he gasped and stopped in his tracks.
The first lizard decided it wasn't worth it to just remain on the ground. He spun around, swinging his tail at the man's leg. If it didn't break his leg, at least it would attempt to trip him up.

((sorry, I took a three hour nap after school yesterday, and thus, diddn't get much work done until late. But I should be able to throw in a post now.. I'm assuming that the one that 'challenged' me is still there.)) Nodding towards his opponent, or really, the closest lizard-man, the man steps foward, lifting his weapon up and balencing it upon his sholder. Keeping a slow but steady pace, he approaces the other man, his glasses glinting in the artifical light of the stadium. Focousing upon the one lizard directly infront of him, the man notices the other person enter the arena, but doesn't make to much of a note of such. Then speaking under his breath to his opponent, "Come 'n get it, whore."

The boy kept his momentum up; spinning around until his back faced the creature again before he put his right foot down, and then shifted his weight to that one and kept spinning. He tipped the 'top' end of the staff downwards, with the intent to make a quick strike at the downed opponent- Bolt The first lizard decided it wasn't worth it to just remain on the ground. He spun around, swinging his tail at the man's leg. If it didn't break his leg, at least it would attempt to trip him up. -except that he didn't see that one coming. The tail swept his supporting leg out from under him, and the boy fell, ironically, for the butt of that quarterstaff to drive right into the base of the creature's neck, with the boy hanging off of it as it came down. The lizard man felt pain, enough to cuase him to drop his weapons. He wa sunarmed, but still had claws, teeth, and a tail. His neck was hurt, as well, and the other lizards heard his surprised honk and were debating whether to all go after the staff-user or not.
The lizard man eatnukes spoke to responded with a grin. It was the one who first stepped forward to fight eatnukes, but abandoned him for the newest fighter. However that fighter didn't seem to interested, so this man would have to do. It charged fully in and attempted a slash across his stomach, to leave him alive and to allow him to devour his innards.

(( *Runs in from work.* ))
The boy was like... supporting himself on a pole rammed into a lizardman's neck. He didn't really do much else, since his feet had kind of been knocked out from under him, and he was trying to keep from tipping over sideways since he was balanced on a stick.

The lizardman, amongst a lot of gurgling and wiggling, KO'd due to lack of air. The first of the seven. He was going to die, if he didn't get CPR soon. Since there was no chance of that... he was dead.
The other five, one was confronting someone else, sought vengeance. The five of them ran in with honks and roars. Their green, wrinkly skin contrasting with the iron armor they clanked around in gave an inhuman appearance to the inhuman monsters. Two came at the boy from his rear, while the other three followed close behind them.
The Gold Dragon's image showed a broad and sharp smile, "I suppose it is time to do away with honor."
((Hopefully your "teammates" will help, because I think this is more of a "TMJ vs. Lizards" then "TMJ and some-other-people-like-nukes vs. Gold Dragon and the Lizards in the Battle of the Bands."
Have fun at work.))
