She stumbled and fell to her side. However, she quickly pulled herself up and turned towards the cheetah once again. He was a lot bigger - she was worried. However, she lunged at the cat again, this time aiming for one of his long back legs.
Speaking wasn't nessisary during fighting. It made her angry - he was still mocking her. Her body shook with rage and angry at the cheetah's audacity.

A seering pain ran through his back leg. Mauja didn't mind, however. He simply smiled, looking back at the dog. When he was like this, he looked simply demonic. His tail, heavy and thick to maintain his balance, moved to the side, trying to ram the dog over so he could pin her on the ground.
"You're going to have to do better than that, love."

Leini held fast, despertate and and afraid. She refused to let go of the leg, and blood rushed into her mouth. It tasted foul, a strange taste provided for her mind, not her actual sense of taste. She snarled, unwilling, but she knew she would have to let go soon.
After all, he was much stronger.

Mauja continued to beat at the dog with his tail. After she wouldn't let go, he dropped himself to the ground, rolling over in an attempt to squish her.
The loss of blood from his leg didn't bother him. No, the wetness felt nice on the hot day, in fact.
As he rolled, he moved his head, so it was now over her throat. His flexibility was something he had always been proud of, and came in handy in times like this.
Opening his jaws wide, he morphed them to her neck, chomping down hard, but not enough to kill her.

She snarled and thrashed a bit, letting gow of the cheetahs leg. She could feel the burning pain and liquid seeping from her neck. She hissed and pain and let her body go limp. Still growling quietly. She wondered if he would just kill her now or let her go.
"Will you kill me?" She asked, hoping desperatel that he wouldn't. She felt a deep shame in her heart - she couldn't even protect her pups...

"Now, if you ask someone if they're going to kill you, they automatically want to say yes." Mauja smirked, talking around the fluff in his mouth.
"I, however, am such a nice cheetah." He sighed, proud of his accomplishment. "Besides, I know you must have pups somewhere. And who would I be to take away their mother?" He opened his jaw and let her go. He was done with his little game now.

She was shaking when he opened his jaws and let her go. Het tail was tucked between her legs and she didn't look him in the eyes. "Thank you, m'sorry," She mumbled and dashed away from him, droplets of blood following her path. Fear still pulsed along her body, along with shame and anger.
She would get stronger...
She didn't go back to her den, but to a waterhole nearby to wash away the blood and sooth the ache in her neck.
