i hate to admit it but lelouch did have to die. his plan was to create a better wolrd. so he had to make the wolrd hate him. he had to make people think that he was the problem. and then having suzaku become zero. so that zero could kill him was really smart because then people would see that zero was never the bad guy and then the world would see zero as the hero and remember lelouch as the enemy.

It doesn't really matter, it's already over and done with.

I wish he didn't have to die but his plan seemed to have require it

Yes Lelouch had to die and an imitation like what Lelouch's maid (cant think of her name at the moment) did during season 2 wouldn't work because his body would be removed immediately and preparations for burial would have started at which point the public would discover the fake.

yes he had to die he even said it

"since people can't put thier hate on an object they put it on people and i will be that person
PostPosted: Wed Oct 07, 2009 6:57 pm

he directed all the hatred in the world towards him, making himself a common enemy so that britannians and others alike would be forced to unite, so yes, his sacrifice was necessary. with his death, the object of people's hatred would be gone and that would clear the path to rebuilding. of course, disputes might break out later on, but for the meantime, everything could be managed in such a way that there would be no war. after all, the world was mostly spent (emotionally, physically, and economically) because of lelouch.

I think that didn't die because at the end of the Series C2 said " Right Lelouch."

Zero Requiem required him to die, but sorry to say, I find it impossible for him to amass so much hatred in just two months of taking over. Not even Charles managed that, and he's a huge b*****d.

and besides, the plan isn't even permanent. War will break out since the common enemy holding the world unified just up and died right in front of everyone after only two months. (Even Adrian Veidt would laugh at how stupid the plot is and tell him a giant squid would work better.)
I'd have preferred it if he became immortal and kept the world unified by being an eternally looming threat over the heads of every other country.

Besides, if part of the plan was to spill so much blood that it would blot out the name of "The Massacre Princess", why not just Geass everyone to forget about her?

@Ultima
Something Lelouch did that Charles didn't was that he deceived people into thinking he was a benevolent ruler. He took people at the UFN hostage and said because of Britannia's population, he will have the majority vote.
You are also forgetting that the plan needed two people. One to unify the world through becoming the common enemy and the other to keep the world unified. Lelouch knew after him his sister would take over. He trusted his sister to make the right choices and keep the world out of harms way at least for a while. So he died to bring the world together and let his keep the world together.

Personally I don't think so because he could of just took over the world and killed Susaku and the Black Knights and not have a Zero Requiem.

How would Lulu kill Suzaku? That's impossible...

The only people still loyal to Lulu were Suzaku and maybe Orange-kun even though Suzaku is unkillable the Lancelot was destroyed and so was Orange's Siegfried. Lloyd and Cecile betrayed Lulu and they probably joined the Black Knights. Who's gonna fix Britannia's Knightmares? If Lelouch did try to attack the Black Knights he wouldn't stand a chance.

Are we forgetting that suzaku can't die, ever since lulu geassed him with "live on" It's almost impossible to kill him, he's forced to watch his back now no matter what,
I guess that sucks but it's kinda cool too

Isn't literacy a rule?
1. Where is your proof? "look at the last episode carefully" is not proof.
2. That is not the Zero Requiem at all. The Zero Requiem was a plan that Lelouch made in order to bring peace and tranquility to the world.
