Alihi laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck. "I wouldn't say "extraordinary", really... You're praising me too much. I wouldn't have been able to stop that incident without your and everyone else's help..." She sighed happily, remembering those days again. She really savored those memories. "And, well, you know me. I ran off as soon as we finished saving Elibe! And then, well, I ended up here." The tactician grinned at her old friend. "I have no idea how long it's been, Canas, but it's great to see you again."

Amara, being the little girl who loves to hug others, gave Valter a huge hug, despite the armor he was wearing.

"Oh, come now," Canas snorted. "You were nothing less then a tactical genius! It wouldnt be a lie to say that you saved hudreds of lives. And I believe that someday, you will do so again. I dare say, I would rather have you as a tactician then all of the tacticians of Elibe!"

He looked down at the small girl, and a smile stretched across his face. "And who is this," He said with a wide smile, kneeling down to look at Amara kindly. "Hello young one. I am Canas. You can call me uncle Canas though."

Valter's grin was lost in surprise as Amara ran up to him, but it reappeared when she gave him a big hug. The knight even let out a small chuckle. He'd seen so many children, but most of them were the ones impaled on the end of his lance. It gave him a good feeling to actually befriend a child like this.

Valter patted the girl on the head a few times. I'd make a pretty terrible father, he told himself mentally, but maybe I could be a better... uhh... uncle-like figure, I guess.

Alihi blushed slightly, embarrassed. "Y-you're giving me too much praise, really..." She mumbled. The tactician accepted praise, yes, but this was really pushing it! To be called a tactical genius and to be told that she'd be chosen over every other tactician in Elibe... it was rather embarrassing. She still managed to smile, despite her mood. "... Thank you, though. It means a lot to me to hear that."

Amara grinned up at Valter, giggling softly when she was patted on the head. Valter was a nice person! The little girl could already tell that she would become good friends with him. She knew it!

"And who is this?"

She peeked from around Valter, staring at the kneeling man who, judging from the conversation, apparently knew her mommy. "Hello!" The child grinned, keeping one arm still in the hug while waving with her other hand. "I'm Amara, Alihi's daughter!" She said with a touch of pride in her voice. "It's nice to meet you, too, Canas!"

"Amara," Canas said with a smile. "I had a son about your age. I'm sure that if he were here, you two would be fast friends. He really needs a friend. Ilia is a harsh place for a child to grow." His thoughts returned to home, and he was a little saddened at it, knowing that he would not be able to see those he loved again. He was glad he had seen that Nino was doing well though, and a few of his friends were here. that gave him some comfort. "Time really does fly..."

He looked over at Alihi. "I didn't know you had a family. It is good to know that you and your little one are still together."

Amara nodded slowly. "I think so, too! I haven't been to Ilia before... just Bern." She smiled brightly. As much as she didn't want to complain about her social situation, she really wanted a friend closer to her age. The closest person to her age was Vah, and she was still a baby! Her head tilted to the side slightly. "What's your son's name?"

Alihi smiled, giving Canas a nod. "I do. Though it's now only me, my daughter, and my brother... My brother's not around here, though. He doesn't want to be associated with me right now. No big deal, though." She chuckled in a half-hearted manner in hopes to mask her sadness of the subject. Her brother and his attitude towards her was a rather sensitive subject, one that she didn't feel like going and talking about.

"His name is Hugh," Canas replied lyrically to the girl.. "He was named after my grandfather. Haven't seen him in a long time though. I hope that someday I might meet be reunited with my son but...I'm afraid that I cannot find either Him, or My wife. The last thing I remember was a blizzard..." He shivered. "We tried. And we did save a village, Me and Shiela." He chuckled. "I hope that she is all right, along with Hugh."

He respectfully nodded to Alihi's statement, not pushing the subject.

While Amara and Canas were talking, Valter sat there quietly. He was worrying about Sue. I'll bet it's hard for her not having her father around... I wish I could understand how she feels.

"You know..." Valter said quietly to Sue while Amara was distracted by Canas, "If I could, I would take all the pain you must be feeling for myself. I truly wish I could do more than just try to comfort you with simple words..."

Amara blinked, finally letting go of Valter. "Hugh... He sounds like a very nice boy." She told him cheerfully, placing one of fingers on her chin and tapping it. "Maybe... maybe he'll come here someday and we can play!"

Alihi shivered slightly. Can't find his son or his wife? "That's terrible..." Her head lowered slightly. "I-I'm sorry to hear about that. I had no idea..."

{No, this is just a platonic A support. |D}

"Ah, I'm in no pain at all though. I've let less and less pain my heart, Valter... and that's because I have more people around me to help ease the burdens of life I used to carry on my own. I have more supporters than I ever had before... even my tribe weren't as close as we are now." The nomad admitted everything she'd bottled up in silent smiles mostly. "But the longing is still there. Father is the only family I do have left.... and while you are my dearest friends, he is my blood, my kin. I wish every day for Father Sky and Mother Earth to grant him safety." She was smiling genuinely. "That's all I can do."

((Lord Roy, Ninian, Oujay, and Miledy have joined the party!))

It took some effort, but Roy and the others had finally caught up with Sue and the others. He saw one, maybe two familiar faces, but the rest he didn't recognize. He hurried up to where Canas, Amara and Alihi were.

"Um...hi. Sorry about intruding into the conversation and about being late...where are we off to?" he asked, not meaning to interrupt what seemed like an important conversation.

Sue's reply made Valter even happier than he was before.
"You don't know how glad I am to hear that," he said, giving his friend a big smile.

Before he could say any more, however, Roy and the others came running up to the group. Valter decided to let the others answer his question, since he didn't exactly know where they were headed either.

"General Roy.." Sue hadn't seen him in so long that she gave the lord a hug of friendship. "It's been so long it feels. Have you... found a way to contact Lord Eliwood yet? I know you've been trying. As for where we're going... I dunno."

(( I can't remember if Alihi and Roy ever really interacted or saw each other during the Halloween event, so... ))

Alihi turned around at the sound of Roy's voice. She blinked a couple of times. He seems... familiar somehow. Where have I seen him before? She rested a hand on her chin. She knew she recognized him from somewhere... but where? Something about him seemed so familiar but she couldn't tell what.

The tactician nearly did a double-take when Sue mentioned both the man's name and Eliwood. Wh-wh-what?! Roy?! Eliwood?! No way! That means--

"Excuse me... Roy, was it? Is your father Lord Eliwood, by any chance?" Alihi asked the red-headed man curiously. If I'm wrong, then I just made a huge fool of myself...

While Alihi was busy mentally freaking out about rather Roy was actually who she believed him to be or not, Amara pointed to a familiar face in the group of people. "Nini!!" The small girl squealed excitedly. "You're back!!"
