"Merril?"
Chiv licked along her foreleg smoothing ruffled fur while she pondered her response, in truth she hadn't known Merril long - although the bright colored beta seemed competent enough.
"Well..she come's down from the mountains though I don't know why she seemed somewhat sad to have left them, she has a bit of a perculiar accent and being a beta is of course fairly used to being followed about. Still she's an amiable enough creature, brightly colored and decent company."
Pausing to consider for a few more moments she tipped her head slightly looking out over the water.
"Met her along the river - which I think I already mentioned along with a younger wolf - Pok I believe she was called, Merril was asking of the packs around here and Pok pointed her towards what sounded like a good one. Since she didn't have a place to stay I offered to sahre my temporary den with her and then agree to accompany her to this pack - couldn't hurt I figure to be with company for once"

Laus listened quietly taking in the description of the female wolf. A sad beta, well that was terrible. He'd never been to the mountains before now was his time to let his mind wander a little bit. Then he was dragged back to add bright colors to his brain picture of what the beta would look like. "You meet quite a few wolves." There were only two mentioned, Merril and Pok but, including himself that was three alone not to mention the others the two found while searching for this pack.
"Apparently everyone enjoys a bit of company." He laughed softly. "I sure appreciate it. When would we be leaving to travel to this pack?" He asked her.

Chiv tipped her head slightly mentally counting back how many wolves she'd met in her travels through this land. Rend - Merril and Pok and now Menelaus. She supposed given the relatively short period of time she'd spent in the area it was a fair amount.
"I suppose I have, thankfully none of them have been unfortunate meetings"
And by Pok's words she knew there were some packs out there to be avoided. Chiv was eager to do so as she had no wish to get caught up in any of their ill tempered games.
"You know I can't be entirely sure - I left Merril sleeping back in then den. I believe she as wore out from her trip down from the Mountains. We can go and see if she's up if you'd like?"

He knew of those packs. Warnings were spread amongst far more then just wolves. All the other animals were very aware of those packs doings. "Alright." He says and partially stands to grab a stretch before standing at his full height, he wasn't a massive wolf but, he was big enough to put up a good fight against almost any wolf.
"Lead the way." His tail was wagging slightly and when he noticed he stopped it, how puppy-ish of him! But, he was extremely excited. He was meeting another wolf which put him at two wolves! He'd never be lonely again.

Chiv followed the grey wolfs lead rising to stretch soundly before wafting her tail a few times herself, catching on to Menelaus' excitement not so much from his words but from his body language Chiv, who at times could be a rather large puppy herself from time to time gave him a catch me if you can look before yipping and dashing off down the path.

Oh he couldn't help it! That face, the tail, the hunt was on! His face drew in and he barked happily. He was laughing joyously, a celebration was to be had. He had friends a traveling group and was going to a pack! His luck was beautifully looking up.
"How far is your den?" He asks, his words almost carried away with the wind. They were still a little audible.

Chiv glanced back at Menealus who had swiftly closed the gap her head start had given her and sped along at her heel's. Despite the wind howling in her ears Chiv heard Menelaus' shout the question and slowed down to a trot so that he could hear her.
"Not to far, just up ahead a ways I'm sure Merril will be up by now"
She responded cheerfully.
