"Well..I'm glad you have your sister." He smiled at her, "Well..me? My mother died when I was a cub, my father raised me very sternly, and I left as soon as I got old enough to." He shrugged this off as if it was nothing, but he never liked to talk about his father. "I was traveling one day, when I was caught up in a terrible problem, and I wound up with a blind eye." He laughed half heartedly. "And here I am today, traveling the world till I feel it right to settle."

The bit about his father made the young cub frown, but she didn't say anything about it. Nor did she ask about his eye, that sounded like something bad right there. Unfriendly memories were always something that made her feel awkward.
"I'm sorry that you had to go threw that..." Pilate's frown stayed situated on her maw. She wasn't sure what to say. Some how she just felt awkward.
"You seem to be getting around well though..."

"Oh yeah, don't worry." He pawed at her playfully, "I'm getting around just fine actually. And my other senses have gotten stronger, so it's not like I've lost that much." He didn't want her to feel bad on his account.

Pilate swiped, playfully, back at the playful pawing. He was a fun furry rock and for that she was glad.
"You sure do have a good out look, " She giggled. Pilate, in a way, some times thought of how lucky/unlucky she was to not have really known her family. She felt blessed that she hadn't known them in case they were abusive. Maybe it was a blessing from the gods , but then, who knew.

"Well thank you, I do try to be possitive." He pawed at her some more. "So, why are you not with your sister? Wouldn't you two want to travel around together or..something?" To Alastair she seemed very young to be wandering alone, but he had only ever met older species.

Pilate pawed back at his paw some. It was giant compared to her paws and made her giggle.
"Hmmmm?" Pilate blinked, "Me and her are both wanders I suppose. We just usually spend the day together at the end of the day. I suppose I do my thing and she does hers." The cub had known she was pretty young but her routes as a wander was something she couldn't shake. It was pretty deeply routed into her being to wander about the savanna's of Africa. Nothing had eaten her yet and that was good depending on how you looked at it.

"Oh, I see.." He looked up at the horizon, it was nice that this cub had a sister to go back to. He would feel a bit of fear for her out here by herself. She didn't seem like she had gotten into a fight yet, so he thought she was making it ok. Though he wondered if she could hold her own in a life threatening problem. He shook his head, not wanting to think about that.
"So.." He wondered aloud, looking up at the sky, "Seen anything interesting on your travels?"

Pilate gave the other a smile, she'd seen alot of things but didn't know where to start.
"A rhino once, it chased me and a friend of mine through the jungle..." She trailed off, "Its the biggest thing I think I've ever seen. Its even bigger then you are." She smiled. "Course I got away," Pilate puffed her chest out proudly at that fact.

"A rhino? Really?" Alastair laughed, "Well I've never been chased by anything except another lion. You must have been very brave...but what did you do to it that made it chase you and your friend?" He raised an eye brow, she seemed to have a cocky side, and it was rather cute to encourage.

The cubs pink eyes peered up at the lion, blinking.
"Not sure, it suddenly was just there and it chased us..." She blinked again, "What about you? What did you do to get a lion mad at you? Aren't lions supposed to be nice?" The green cub had yet to meet a mean lion. She lived with her adopted sister that was a lion and had a hard time picturing what would set a lion off enough to really attack another. The cub didn't know but she was all the more interested in what the lion before her had to say.

Alastair looked far off for a moment, thinking. "Well, I didn't know it at the time, but I had been trespassing." Alastair smiled, but it didn't hide the small fact that he didn't like to remember this. It never bothered him to where he wouldn't speak of it, it was just a very sad moment to suddenly relive. "I had met the lion's young cub, and unlike her father she was very kind to me. But her father found me soon after we met." he frowned, he had gotten away, but it had cost him.

Pilate frowned a mirroring frown from the older lions maw onto her own.
"So he thought you were a threat..." The cub frowned a little deeper wondering who would think this teddy bear of a lion would hurt their young. To Pilate he seemed like he was an alright fellow. Part of her was sad she'd never know if her own father would be that protective of her but she didn't say anything. Thinking of parents just made her a little depressed.

Alastair stopped in his walk, "Yes he did, but I could see why he would try and attack me. I might have been then same if I had cubs, but I don't think I would have jumped to conclusions like he did." Alastair shrugged, as if it mean't nothing. "But as you can see, I am alive and well." he grinned at her, not wanting her to get upset from his story.

His grin erased the cubs frown. She smiled back up at him with delight, glad that he was alright.
"Yeah," She smiled up at him. "Thats all you can hope for these days is to be alright at the end of the day."
The grayness of the day started to disappear slowly as the sun peeked through a few stray holes of the gray dark clouds. The light trickled down in an almost holy looking glory through out the lands. Pilate had to stop walking for a moment and just look at the scene playing out before them. IT was breathtaking.
"Wow..."

Alastair smiled up at the sky, "Yes it is very pretty. I'm both glad the rain stopped and sad." He frowned slightly, but shook his head and smiled down the cheetah. "So," he said casually, "Any place you really want to go to sometime? Have you heard about any place new?" Idle chit chat wasn't something he was great at, especially when he didn't know what to talk about really.
He fell silent, waiting for a reply. And thinking about other questions to ask.
