Dax was dealing as best he could. He sighed from time to time, looking rather... Vexed when Nico wasn't looking. He smiled at Nadia. For Nico!

The people that had gathered took their seats and Nico began to read.
"ONE DAY THERE WAS A HANDSOME PRINCE WHO HEARD A PRINCESS YELLING FOR HELP!"
Nadia reached on-stage and plopped Benji down. He sucked a fist and sat there in his droopy metallic silver shirt and skewed crown.

Dax called out dutifully, in a falsetto: "Help, help!"

Benji looked up, but went nowhere. Nico turned to look at him.

Dax leaned down and called across the stage, in his normal voice: "Boopy!" Hell, it was mostly what he called the little sproglet.

...! Benji turned toward the voice and crawled across the stage into Dax's arms. There was myriad clapping.
"SO THE KNIGHT LEFT HIS HOUSE TO GO FIND THE PRINCESS AND SAVE HER AND MARRY HER BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW THE WAY SO HE WENT LOOKING AND HE MET A FROG."
Nico plucked Pumpkin from the cage beneath his chair, dressed in his frog suit, and shoved him on stage. He jumped back down. Nico put him back. He jumped back down. A final time, Nico shoved him, up on stage, and a tan arm with the elastic sleeve of a green costume reached out to hold him in one place.
There came a forlorn 'miau?' and mixed laughter.

Dax put Boopy back on stage, telling him to get the kitty. Go get the kitty, boopy!

KITTY. Benji crawled over and beeped one of the costume's bulging eyes. Kitty!
"THE CA--...THE FROG SAID THAT HE HAD TO GO INTO THE ENCHAMTED FOREST AND THE PRINCESS WAS IN THE DRAGON'S TOWER AND THAT SHE WAS A FAIRY INSTEAD OF A NORMAL PRINCESS."
Nadia took a hint after a moment and bounced Pumpkin around awkwardly. He gave a wobbly "mia-a-a-a-a-a-u". More laughter, and the baby giggled.
"SO THE PRINCE-I-MEAN-KNIGHT WENT INTO THE ENCHAMTED FOREST."
"Benny. Hey, Benni-hana. C'mere." Off went kitty and baby. Nadia crawled out in her dragon costume to put Pumpkin back in his cage to the delight of the audience. She waved once, but Nico gave her a frustrated "mooooom", so she muttered her apologizes and crawled back behind the "curtain".

In his pretty, pretty dress Dax sighed and pushed a potted palm onto the stage. Ka-Forest!

Yay! Some more clapping and strange murmuring. Was that a man's arm they just saw? Nadia put Benji back on stage. He wobbled over to touch the palm tree fronds. Ooooh.
"SO THE PRI--KNIGHT FOUND THE TOWER."
And he turned to wait for the appearance of Dax within his wonderful inflatable castle.

So the pretty princess crawled out, pushing the castle out with him. It was meant for children, and he was no where near Nico's size.

"SO THE PRINCE CLIMBED INTO THE TOWER TO SAVE THE PRINCESS AND THEY KISSED."
Benji was still playing with the tree beside the castle.

Dax sighed and popped out of the castle, reaching down for Boopy, loudly proclaiming: "MY HERO." and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Yay hero Boopy!
